Love Love Love.  I liked episode 2 a lot, so I will give this a whirl.  I am also very much looking forward to case 8, so that will be a go too..

Thought:  If 2010 sees Case 2 rereleased and Case 8 released, the rest of us can kiss goodbye any chances of winning any awards in this current year's AGS awards :)

I like the look of it.  My only complaint is that Nil looks like my sister-in-law's boyfriend, and the guy is a druggie loser lol

I will definitely give it a go when finished.  Looks really clean.

Hello everyone,

It's been a few months since I last updated this, but I just wanted to let anyone interested that we're still hard at work making this.  Neil has churned out some amazing character art, and I am plugging away on a daily basis.   The game has grown in scope beyond what I'd originally planned, but it shaping up to be (what I feel to be) an amazing and enthralling experience.  I updated the original post in this thread again to reflect the progress.

Thanks,

Just a quick comment/idea which would explain the problems you're having.

Windows ME can't read the NTFS file structure.  If this drive was used in an XP system or something, and has the NTFS file system on it, you'd get these kinds of errors / requests to format.

And then to drive the point home that you're a nice guy, vote for my games.

Thank you :)

Nominations are one thing.  I am hoping more people vote in the actual contest.  I think the bolded red text at the top of the forums help drive the point across :)  I think that was a great idea to promote it.

I like to think of ags as a suppository of knowledge.

Hahaha, suppository.

There was an open nomination phase a short time ago.  Members voted for which games to nominate in each category.  All games released in 2009 were eligible, and the games with the most nominations were entered into the final voting.

If you don't like the fact that McCarthy, Shifter's and Marionette were nominated for so many, feel free to vote for my two games which are in the running.  Murran Chronicles 2 and Mr. Danger's Contest   *Shameless Plug*  :)

I have been around since 2004, but don't post that often.  I am more the quiet, dangerous type :)

It all depends on the person.  Some people go through phases of interest.

Congrats Abstauber!

Well deserving game, I must say.   I enjoyed it.

Thanks to all those who voted for mine, being tied for 2nd isn't too shabby.   :)

Ok, so maybe I am a bit out of it... But why do people dislike Yahtzee so much?  His __ Days a ___ games were good, as was Trillby's Notes..

I have been a member of the AGS community since 2004, and  have never really seen him post much of anything, or come off as being the jerk (or ass) as some people say.

Just curious.

4 Words:  Twenty One Jump Street.

Best television series in the history of mankind.  All due to Depp.

My wife and I are both actually looking forward to the new Alice movie.  Burton is amazing.

For Your Consideration, I propose two of my games this year for the 2009 Awards.

For category of Best Music I suggest my MAGS entry Mr. Danger's Contest.  All music (and sounds) were made a capella by myself on my trusty PC microphone.  I got some great feedback from it (and some not-so-great).  It was a very different type of music :)

My other game recommendation for nomination comes from Murran Chronicles 2: Talons of Terror.  While the graphics were a bit lackluster all the feedback I received on story, writing and puzzles were great.  So I submit Murran Chronicles 2 for :

Best Original Story
Best Dialogue Writing
Best Puzzles
Best Short Game

Thanks!

The 3rd game in the Murran Chronicles series has to do with Gaelic folklore, as well as some aspects of the culture.  In particular, one of the main characters in the game (a shop-owner) is a woman of Gaelic heritage, and I want her to be as authentic as possible.  In creating this game I have done a lot of research into Gaelic folklore, mythology and culture, but I would really love to be able to have someone with a background (or who has extensive knowledge) to speak with.  I want to make sure I get this character, and her souvenir shop authentic in-game.  I don't want to get the character and the store done and then end up insulting an entire culture/heritage due to misinformation or my misunderstanding of things I've read on-line.

If anyone is interested in helping me with this, I would really appreciate you letting me know.  I will be glad to give you credit in the game as "Gaelic Culture Expert", "Gaelic Consultant"  or "Lead Gaelic Person" or however you'd like it listed.

Thanks!

I think it also depends on the pace, tempo and style of music.  If it is background, creepy, cave type music, I think it might be okay.  If it is upbeat, energetic, and theme-style music, I think maybe not.

In Murran Chronicles 3, I am using one background music track for all non-main screens.  IE: As you walk around town various screens will all play one long "walking" music loop.  The song is like 4 minutes long so it doesn't repeat often since each of the main screens have their own music, but you get the point.

Uhm, why would you reply to a 6 year old thread saying how nobody should reply to a 6 year old thread?  The next oldest post is like 3 months old.

lol

What OS?  Windows 7?

I would imagine (based on problems with other legacy drivers) that games made in older versions of AGS might have problems running in Windows 7.
