I just saw that this made the most downloaded game of last week's #1 spot.

Thanks again to everyone who took the time to play this thing   My e-mail box has been filling up over the past several days.  It's a weird feeling to have so many people playing a game you create.

I gotta say I really do love the AGS community here.

This is an oldie but I'd recommend Betrayal at Krondor.

BAK is amazing, though not open ended and "unending".  Then again, I am a huge Raymond E. Feist fan, so ..

It does have free reign to wander around and not progress the game until you choose, and there are lots of side quests though.

I love arcade games with cheatcodes.  Maybe inserting some kind of cheat options in there would make it more fun.  Of course, I always beat the game normally before using any cheats.  It's more enjoyable that way.

It looks to be approaching 1400 downloads, so hopefully with any luck, a few more days will put it to the #1 slot (Fingers Crossed).  Beating out A Tale of Two Kingdoms will be an incredible feat.  That game is amazing.

The ratings are up past the 80% mark, which is astounding to me.  I had no idea it would be this well received.  It was a quirky little thing I put together

MC3 will have an update soon in the Games in Production thread.  I have a bunch more screenshots, and a new character artist who signed on board and is redoing all the character sprites and speaking portrait animations (LocutusofBored).

It's exciting!

I most likely was up to no good I am not supposed to take photos or video in there (company policy) but always find ways or reasons to bypass those. In fact, I shall take my camera tonight and see what kind of thrills can be had

I got the note saying go back to computer room to watch video. If I click on Mona Lisa I can only kill the blonde guy and then I die, SO I rekcon watching the video is gonna make me realize I have to kill the butler. But how CAN I see the video? the computer room is in the same state

The final note means nothing.  Initially, when the contest was just a plain and simple contest, Mr. Danger had the video as a clue for you to find his final hiding place.  However, when the butler kidnapped him and began killing people to steal the money, he also wiped the video footage.

If the butler was behind it, you need to attack him instead of Randy.  Just clicking either the hinges or the metal bar on the butler instead of Randy will get you begun on the end-game sequence for the 'good' or 'correct' ending.  It sounds like you already got the 'bad' or 'incorrect' ending for the game

I tried to make all that info as clear as possible in the end sequence, but maybe I should have been clearer during the game itself so people didn't wonder about that note...

I haven't seen a Toy 'R Us here (not a real one, anyway), but yeah, I'd get the reference. I mean...it is referenced a lot- in games, movies, etc. Heck, there was a Bots 'R Us in Space Quest, I think.


Even if I didn't (or someone didn't), I'm sure it wouldn't really matter. Aside from the fact that Gaelic is an adjective (unless you are talking about the language?), not a noun, like toys...so Gaelic R Us sounds a little weird. But makes sense, I guess.

Yes, I know it isn't a noun   I was going for the adjective version.  It's more a silly/goofy type thing.

For Murran Chronicles #3 there is a store that the player will need to frequent in order to speak with a person of great importance.  It is a Gaelic shop selling gifts, novelties, etc...

I wanted to name this store something along the lines of Gaelic R Us, which is in reference to the toy store Toys R Us.  Before I did this, I wanted to make sure the reference wouldn't be lost on all non-American players of the game..  I know the toy store chain is nation-wide here in the states, but I don't know about outside our little country here.

So my question to all non-US residents is: Do you have Toys R Us in your countries?  If not, have you heard of it before, and would you get a reference like the one above?

Ok, so..  While I would LOVE to believe that lots and lots of people are downloading my entry to the May 2009 MAGS competition, I am having a little trouble believing that quite so many are..

I have checked here frequently awaiting the results of the competition, and noticed that the game got 202 downloads in the 2 first two days, putting it as #4 on the most downloaded list for last week.

I have watched over the past 2 or 3 days as the thing skyrockets.  It has well over 500 downloads now, and climbing at a pretty good rate.  The other competition entry has about 142 downloads.  I would imagine people would download both entries to play them for judging..  

I didn't know who to ask about this, but I was curious if something odd could be happening, or if someone is falsifying the download counter for some reason..  The bandwidth/traffic on my server is up significantly, but I don't understand how this game could have more downloads in like 4 days than both my Murran Chronicle games combined over the past 6 months...  


**EDIT**  Now, one hour since the initial post, it is just shy of 600 downloads...
