I'd like to apolagise for the long thread firstly.
I really wanted to try and improve my Pixel Art and grasp of Human Anatomy, so I found a Stock image from Deviant Art and decided to start from there. I'm generally unsure how to go about drawing a human, (On paper, I am a terrible artist, I find it thrustrating drawing stick figures properly!) What I have is what I've learnt and adapted through numerous books I've gone through over the years.
Firstly: The original stock image. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/38696624/
Basically, This is how I started off and progressed.

I am really hoping I can get some tips on how to start creating a character, and how to pose them correctly, (Which is a problem I had in the end. Which gave the character an unnatural pose)
Once I created the basic shapes and fixed up some details, I went on to colouring. Another flaw of mine, I usually just decide the point of my light source, and from the edges, colour inwards with a lighter, or darker shade. I'm looking for ways to improve or give a better effect.

I need some help on my pose, in the original stock, she's siting down, with her arm supported on the floor, but now it looks like she's in a sit-up esque' pose with her arm supporting HER up. Any help appreciated.
I like to think I've improved from the day I stumbled apon these forums two years ago when I was 11, and started scribbling some ideas down.
I was going through my first thread on this forum, (Was on a different account I had created a long.. long time ago.. ) and found my very first character.

(Nope.. That's not zoomed.. amazing resolution eh?, used for spectaculism)
Tallented... Wasn't I?
Sorry about any spelling mistakes I may have made, I STILL am only 13!
(Shamless atempt for pity points)
Thanks in advanced.
