QuoteAlso, "a future of the unknown", "covered by the shadow" and "hold your hand" are pretty awkward phrases

call them poetical metaphor  ;D

QuoteI'm a little embarrasssed by the British attitude that everyone should speak English
Don't be embarassed, id rather like speak english than eat english food  :D

QuoteI think in a few years time it would benefit us all to learn Chinese, you mark my words

I hope that this will not become true, asian languages are so difficult (especially pronunciation).

Wow
season four beginning is just great :)
I hope this final season will reveal us all the secrets and give us great entertainment like previous one.

Are you also fan of this amazing show?

Hey luniquedan ;)

QuoteThe download section have a lot of lil' jewels with a french trans

It could be a good idea to systematically add in a game description the availables languages

Initially this post wasnt intended to know if AGS forum must have a french section or if "frenchies" are "not fond of anglo-saxon globalisation" but if there are many speaking french people around here :)

concerning the forum i just suggest (i already said that above) a special board with just links to "official" forums in other language about AGS.

i hope i dont sound too defensive.? ;D
Cause im not.
I agree its a pity.

To come back to the topic it seems there is not a lot of french speaking people around there( whatever the reason).
I expected more french speaking canadian too.

I think we french people are not just good with foreign language :)
maybe its different with the new generation for i know more younger speaking english than people of my generation.

QuoteI can go almost every part of the world and understand and make me to be understood pretty well with English, except in France.
Maybe are you from these few peoples whose when in another country never ask politely if you speak their language.

When im talken in France directly in english without an hello or  "excuse me, do you speak english?" my english seems to vanished.
When im travelling  in another country the first thing i learn is how to say hello and be polite.

Or you have no chance :).

I have to say that the majority of english peoples i meet in paris are quite polite. I only have problem once with australian peoples , not because their manners but with their pronunciation which makes difficult for me to understand what they were looking for.
But after some humorous talk between us we manage to communicate  :)

Quotewho stupidly still refuse to learn English like if we were still living 2 centuries

Is it really stupidity?
If  I hadnt the chance to be sent by my parents in scotland during my summer hollidays when i was 15 I probably dont be able to speak english (even this bad english of mine) only with my school lessons.

QuoteIn the past I've generally steered away from having non-English forums because of the need to moderate them, and because as I'm responsible for the site here I'd prefer to be able to understand all the content posted on it.

But if some of you multi-lingual guys would be happy to keep an eye on the foreign language forums it might make more sense to try and integrate them here?

IMHO it would be better to have a section in the forum which give the links to the national community forum.
Peoples who wants to know whats happen in other AGS community may be able to find this forum easily and there ll be no problems with moderation in this forums being outside the official forum here.

Thanks :)

QuoteI think you meant to post in the MultiResponse thread, but the answer is:
This is no the multiresponse thread here?

Hi
I would like too trigger an interaction when last message of a Multi.Sloop has been read.
How is it possible?

QuoteAs I pointed out on my blog, there is actually a separate French-speaking AGS forum, and I think that's where most Frenchies hang out.

Yes the french AGS forum is here http://adventuregamestudio.fr-bb.com/  feel free to visit us :)

The community is very small but active. We have few games realised.

QuoteApparently, French people still has a problem with "English"

Thats true, personnaly my reading and understanding is quite good but my writting is a pity

QuoteI can now curse fluently in French.

I can call somebody a homesexual.

I can ask "what are you doing tonight?"

I can tell somebody to go f**k their mother.

I can ask a woman to f**k me.
Iguess its a good beginning in every language to be able to say that, but  you forget the main sentence " I want a beer " (or whatever is your favorite drink)  ;D

Hi
I m curious to know how big (or small  ;D ) is the french speaking community here.

I m trying to use both your template and the gridinventory from Besh.
Actually I cant manage to have them working together.

My main problem is that the on_mouse_click() function of grid inventory is somehow overrided by scumm verbpoint and i dont know how to manage this issue after several hours reading the code.

Anyone has a clue about it?

A solution would may be to have a template only for the verbcoin without the inventory to be able to use another inventory template I guess.

It's not that hard to write your own 3D API for any experienced programmer

I hope an experienced programmer will bring us soon a plugin or module to use 3D character with AGS.
2.5 D will extend AGS possibility a lot.
The possibiity to have different camera view will enhance, imho, the game design.
#59
Is it possible to have AGS manage 3D characters directly?

The 3D character plugins is not maintened and giving AGS 2.5 D possibility will be very great.

Any other persons interested by that?

sorry to pop up this old thread but Im triyng to use this module wits AGS 3.01 and I have this error
Quote
An error has occurred. Please contact the game author for support, as this
is likely to be a scripting error and not a bug in AGS.
(ACI version 3.01.1017)

in "GridInventory.asc", line 397
from "GlobalScript.asc", line 360

Error: String.Substring: invalid index

line 397 is

id = this.itemId.Substring(pos * 3, 3);

I dont understand what this code mean ant to what its related.

any clue or suggestion?

Maybe its because I'm using the verbcoin template but not the inventory from it?

when I load the demo game in 3.01 there is no problem so I certainly miss an important point in the configuration but cant figure which one.

EDIT
problem solved it was just itemheight anditemweight which were not correctly setted
