Hi Shawn, I am also Shawn.

RIP

I wanted to find a pic of him falling over the sofa, but I couldn't, so I'll put one of him in bed with two women, not doing what mr.Roper thinks they're doing.

Overall a nice issue, but the SQ7 preview irks me. There are some confusing details in there.

For example:

QuoteWe  are happy  to  report  that  the first  showings  of  the team's  work  on  the characters  demonstrate that  they  have  made  a much better job than Sierra previously did in Gabriel Knight  3  and  King's  Quest  8  and  has  nothing  to  be jealous of, from recent commercial adventures. Roger Wilco  looks  excellent  in  3D  and  does  not  loose  his comic  style  as  it  sometimes  happens  when  turning  a 2D character into 3D.

Firstly, I could very well be wrong here, but those character renders look suspiciously like Poser models. The author seems to be insinuating that the game will be using true 3d models for the characters, like they did with KQ8 and GK3. And even if so, it's hard to compair the graphics of a game in development now with games that were released several years ago, amateur or not.

QuoteAs  they  stated,  adventures  that  try  to  convert  to  a  3D  environment, like  Escape  from  Monkey  Island,  suffer  in  the translation and are not true to the roots of the genre.
That statement alone, shows that the developers know very well what they are doing and how to make a real adventure in 3D unlike other commercial companies. SQ7's  3D  pre-rendered  graphics  will  allow  the developers to position the camera in the exact spot to
get the best perspective of a screen.

MI4 used pre-rendered backgrounds. I don't know what he's talking about here.

Both of these quotes sound like they come from a paid advert. Obviously they're not, but I think the author should maybe be a little more conservative and just state the facts, rather than making bold statements about how good the game will be.

I don't mind statements about how certain features look really good or promising, but saying things like "they  have  made  a much better job than Sierra previously did" is a little much, even if it's true, and doesn't sound very professional.

Anyways, sorry about the negativity. I still enjoyed the issue a lot. Especially that interview with the FoY team.  ;)

I was at work. A coworker mentioned to me that a plane hit, and I immediately thought it was terrorists. I don't know why. Everyone else assumed it was a small private plane.
Anyways, we had no radio or tv, so I was on CNN.com whenever it would load. One of the computer techs got an ancient 12" tv from storage and we hooked it up just in time to see the second tower fall.
I spent most of the time in #AGS, talking about it with everyone, and giving each other news updates as we got them.
90% of our business is in the US, and the phones didn't ring all day, of course.
When I finally got home and saw the footage for the first time, I couldn't believe my eyes. It seemed like a movie.
I still have the special print that the newspaper put out later in the day. The headline is "Death from the air".

Awsome.

QuoteGo there before it becomes mainstream and you're too embarrassed to be seen around it!

Gold.

And despite it all, kissing without a beard and moustache is much more yummy.
Which sucks, cause again, I look better bearded.

Ok.

Edit: Hmm, so that FoA cd may be more R@RE than it would seem. Thanks for the heads up on that.

Nope. Montreal.
You'd be amazed what kinds of things you can find in a bar bathroom at 3 am though.
Maybe not amazed.
Maybe... frightened.

Like, I was using the regular toilet, since the urinals were full, and I decided against flushing since every surface seemed to be coated in some kind of wetness already, and then on my way out this girl stops me and says "Hey, you didn't flush." to which I said "Hell no.". And then she got upset. I guess she was suicidal and was planning on sitting down on the thing.
And then I said "I'm pretty sure this is the guys bathroom, so, move." and left to have another pint.

So basically, stay away from girls who have been near the bathrooms of a bar at 3 am after you've been drinking heavily, because chances are they have cooties.

If you're gonna blow all your money, it may as well be on food.

That's good advice, kids.

Although I'd probably buy something stupid, like games off Ebay.

Actually, I know I would, because I have.

I feel the pain.
I'm a hairy freak too (two shaves a day would probably be optimal) and shaving is just too much of a hassle. I'm so lazy, I don't even use cream anymore, just hot water, which always gets me stares or horror from whoever witnesses it.
I find it better to shave before I shower, that way the cuts heal up nicer and I don't have scabs all over, lol.
I envy people who only have to shave a couple of times a week, even though I honestly look better with a beard than without.

How come only Europe gets great magazines?

Those guys rock.
They're doing their own thing, like most of us, and it happened to work out really well for them.
Awsome.

Sometimes I wonder if I'd even be able to handle it. I mean, I barely have the time to do the Rode Kill stuff that I do now. If people actually cared... yikes.

Well, we all know what guys who like onion rings are really up to, eh? EH?

It may have come from the bathroom of the bar I was at two Saturdays ago.
Seriously.

I don't know if I can have my emotions manipulated like that.
I suggest more slapstick in the sequel.
