Everything starts out as an idea inspired from something else.
The trick is to develop your ideas into something original.

Rode Kill started out very similar to Roger Wilco (maybe less of a moron but still), but I like to think that he's starting to take on a life of his own.

My god those knives are so frightening and alluring all at the same time.

This is the example I gave Mods when we discussed it yesterday.

Imagine you and three of your closest friends form a club about... let's say, cows.
So you and your friends hang out in your little clubhouse and talk about cows all day. One day one of your friend asks if he can invite someone to join the club. Great! The more the merrier! More people means more insight into cows!
Weeks pass and more people join. Friends of friends invite people and pretty soon your little clubhouse is packet full of people you don't really know that well.
And then people slowly stop talking about cows. They start talking about forks and bumblebees and all kinds of non-cow things.

I don't think that this means the ultimate downfall of AGS or anything. Things are just different.
I still talk to a lot of the 'olbies' on IM and IRC. Nothing's really been lost.
I just doubt that a forum with this much activity is really going to foster the kind of close relationships I have with some of the people I met here a few years ago.

GO AND MAKE GAMES, DAMMIT!

Well, people here tend to stay indoors in winter because of the white death outside, and also people who work tend to have some time off around Christmas, so I can see how everyone may be finishing up their projects by March.

edit: Don't mess with DG if you don't know what's what. He's one of the most productive and respected guys around here.

edit edit: And his sister has a hot voice.

BWAHAHAHAH

Squalman sounds like Pacman.

And now that I've actually heard the contestants... I still vote for Unilin, just because of that beautiful and patriotic rendition of our national anthem.

Props to Helm though. \m/  \m/

QuoteRodekill made a good tutorial on game design which was on the AGDzine. But that's down at the moment

It's still nicely available at it's home.

If you think she's untrustworthy, then you're in trouble, because honestly, relationships are doomed without trust, period.
She should care enough about you to take down the picture if it makes you uncomfortable, but you can't expect her to read your mind about it.
Don't ask her to ditch her friends though. Nothing worse than that.

We are teh great.
I think I played it through six or seven times already.
Reminds me of that song in CMI with the barbers for some reason...

Too bad eric and I are barely audible though...

About time I got in on this.

I suppose I could have gone the better route and made one of the nude dudes look like Joey, but since the game isn't out, I wasn't sure if people would get it.

I love having to explain things.

Edit: Lol @ Makri

Have a good one man.
Do everything I would or wouldn't but would like to do.

Actually, apparently Vanilla Ice still has a few million left over from that glorious year.

Two weeks ago some kid almost blew off his face when a bomb he made didn't detonate until he had given up and was carrying it home. This was like, two blocks from the house I grew up in.
He got the recipe from the internet.
Dumbass kids.

I'd be a rockstar.
