btw : sorry for stealing your topic, releasethefrogs!

I don't mind.
If it wasn't for me, you probably wouldn't have thought of it anyway.

Maybe you should post a new competitin idea so I can redeem myself  :)

and also, I like strazer's idea because then everyone can find more "adventure-related" sound effects and use them, rather than just finding more general stuff on a search engine.

I just thought I could put it here, since I can't PM him  ;):

Akumayo, it seems like you never can log in.

Did somebody say "Reviews"???

I can do that!
I have been reviewing stuff ever since I watched an episode of the Iron Chef back in 1999.  From then on, I have been critisizing-er... commenting on cooking, movies, my neighbor's XBOX games (I'm a console parasite if you know what I mean...)

I even write movie reviews for the local "Teen Scene Zine" (Stupidest Name EVER!!!)

SO if you want me to review a game, just contact me:

Guitardude10293@cox.net

Tell me if I should pick the games or if you or sylpher or whover should...

Oh.. yeah.  The only downside is that the game has to have a walkthrough or else you won't get a review for a month or so  ;)  hahahaha i'm just kidding!

Good Luck Standing in For "A"

NEW:  Wanna sample of my "work"??

Here is a diminishing review of "Rugrats, All Grown Up" (i was bored that night)

Hey, hey, everybody!

I was just reading the Competitions and Activities forum rules, and it told me to post here if I had a new competition idea, so here I am!
It's such an obvious idea, I'm surprised no one has implemented it before (if they did, then it is not in the list in the Rules thread)
Introducing...

Animated Graphic Image File Contest (Title pending)

That's right!  AGIF!

With the internet craze in high gear, animated GIFs are all the rage around the net!  That's why I would like to bring to you the ultimate in AGIF making, bringing the best AGIFers from across the land to gether in unity to compete against each other in a competition run by me!

And here's the good news...

If you post now, you can get the full AGIF expirience for free!  Every week, there would be an AGIF conpetition under strict guidelines made by the winner of the last week!

Dosen't that sound like fun?  Of course it does!

So what are you waiting for?...

UPDATE:  How long should I wait before I suggest it to the Competitions aand Activities moderators?

No pictures, sorry.

It is a 10' long "Shielded MIDI/DIN Cable."
"5-pin male DIN to 5 pin male DIN"
"For conecting a MIDI-compadible device to a PC"

Despite my knowlege of computers, I don't know what the hell to do.

General Discussion / MIDI to Whatever adapter.
Sun 14/03/2004 23:04:12
I need some help
1. I just bought a good, solid, 5-pin MIDI cable.

2. I hook it up to the electric piano.

3. I move piano so it can reach the computer.

4. There is no where to plug in the cable to the computer.

So I call Radio Shack, but they say that they don't carry "MIDI-to-serial" (or whatever) adapters.
So I call Staples, but they don't have any either.

Then I call the local music store.  They said they do have one, but they also said (nonchalantly) "They cost about $49.99!"

Thats 27 pounds!  66 canadian dollars! .12 ounces of pure gold!  389 Hong Kong Dollars!!! (In case Gilbot is here)

So can someone direct me to a good, yet affordable (for a 13 year old) MIDI-to-Serial or USB (or whatever) adapter?

Thanks to anyone, thanks to everyone!

Adivice straight from the head honcho himself.

The image fits perfectly, but I still am getting a stretched out grey backround instead of having the text inside the box.

Oh, no!

I am trying to use my own image for the backround of the text box, but the DISPLAY() text is coming out stretching the size of the GUI.
I even tried adding a text box to it to see if that would help.  No luck.

Also, I am getting like 25 blue cups surrounding the text box when I test the game.
Why?

So can someone tell me is I can fit the text into the size of the GUI that I want?  Or maybe there is a piece of code that I can put into the script that makes the "CUstom Image" text box stretch to fit the words?

Thanks

You must have sent the AGS Editor to the desktop or something.
That's what I did, and so I decided to move "AGS"(Folder) from "unzipped" to the desktop.   That way I'll still have roomedit, and AGS wil be easy to start!

Make sure that everything that came with the download is in the same folder, then the editor will begin.

Good luck with AGS!

Oh, no!

Gibert went back in time to 1996 and killed our favorite spice girl!

Great Scott!  Now he is impersonating her in their upcoming show!

Better send someone back in time so we can save 90's pop culture  :o!!!

Thanks, Robert

One more thing:

Is there a special line of code that I should put in the global script so that the RTA identifies this as the default display box?

Do you mean the textbox GUI that pops up on the Display command? or do you mean a screen of some computer or tv?

I meant the textbox GUI.

I should have been more clear with that one...   ::)

OK, I've searched the forums and searched the help[ file, but I still don't know how to make your own custom DISPLAY GUI, like in Pleurghburg or 5DAS.

IF anyone could help me, I would be darn fine with it.  :)
