I was going to make a halloweenie-style song, but then I thought some latin beats would be cool in it, so there they go.

What do you think?

Oh yeah, that rumor that California will become an island. I especially hope that never happens.

If that odd rumor were to come true, it would only effect the left side of California, leaving the right side safely attached like a leech.

I think it would be awesome if we became an island.  Heh.
Of course, if it were to happen, Edwin would be a lot closer to it than me, so he may get sucked into the earth's fiery magma live on double-sided beach property.

Wow!  This looks very cool.  I really like your drawing style.

No music, though?  Well, I think this project is high-enough on the "neato factor" to find someone to make music for it.  :=

General Discussion / Re: Teachers strike

I've never really trusted teachers, and I don't think they trust me.
In my English Literature class, we are reading "To Kill A Mockingbird"  She makes us take notes on each chapter.  Since I have bad handwriting, I type everything out.  So, naturally, I type out the notes.
So I come to school today, and the following ensues:

Mild-mannered RTF: Here are my notes!  I typed them out for spupendous-o-matuc readibility!

Somewhat Evil Teacher: I'm sorry, but you may not type out your notes

Mild-mannered RTF: Why ever not?

Somewhat Evil Teacher: Because you might have gone on the internet to find a summary of the chapters and then cpoied and pasted on the computer.

(later)

Somewhat Evil Techer: Well, class, very good notes in general today!

Mild-mannered RTF: YeahyouknowwhybecasueIgotmineofftheinternet

I'm not a member, but this Okrut community thing sounds pretty interesting.  I need to be a member to see what it's like, though.

It would be fun to try out

Well, I made some subliminal messages to go along with it, but I guess the encoder didn't like them. Oh well :P

I admit, this won't exactly put you to sleep.  But it is a good listening song!

Wow, those are very nice shots.  The coast looks beautiful.

I could do a weekly slot.  I have the spare time, and I have the motivation.  My show could consist of many of the AGS Operas and Theme songs (if that hasn't been taken already.)  I'd also do that one audio thing I mentioned  :=

My best weekday times would be probably be between 17:00 and 18:00 PST.  That's pretty early for most of you, so if I were to have a slot, it would have to be on the weekends.
Probably some point between 11:00 and 12:00.

We'll see what's best, though.  :)

This is teh awesome and I am teh listening right teh now teh!
You guys should record audio of yourself saying typical DJ stuff, such as:
"You are listening to AGS Radio."

I could probably do a weekly slot using the AGS Operas, some AGS Game themes, and songs from "The Singing Game" and stuff like that.

It could be called "RTF's Super Happy Fun AGS-Releated Hour of Fun!" (or the next best offer  := )

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, a guy named Daniel was born.

12 years later, he was still around. Ã, His friend was like "OMFG U HAV 2 GET AIM!!!11!!!1!" So, he did (by He I mean Daniel).

His first screenname was Guitardude10293. Ã, This was very cliched, and it had a lot of numbers. Ã, So after a while, he decided to find something a bit more unique. Ã, There was a time when he had 3 screen names at once:
Ã,  Ã,  IambronzeQtip
Ã,  Ã,  WeaslesRfuzzy
Ã,  Ã,  releasethefrogs

He decided to go with IambronzeQtip.
But, after about 2 years, he got bored with it. Ã, He decided to change it.

Meanwhile, releasethefrogs was not forgotten. Ã, He decided to use it at an AGS Forum name, as well as spitting out controversial games using that name.

The End

heh
Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
If I'd known how big roger's logs were....

Disclaimer: I'll admit, I have no knowledge of IRC Bot Programming.

I have a suggestion for Roger.

Say that I wanted to find out if people were talking about me behind my back.

I envision something like this:

<rtf>Roger mentioned rtf
<Roger>rtf was last mentioned 3 days, 2 hours ago by CJ_ saying "If anyone deserves the nobel prize, it would have to be rtf"

Again, I don't know how you were to implement that, but I thought it was worth the suggestion (as you can see it's possibilities).

What do you think?

To save you from the wrath of the moderators, let me just say that next time you post a question, read the manual.  It would be a lot quicker to larn rather that waiting for an hour for someone to reply.  ;)

Anyway, I barely ever use the interactions editor, but you can do that instead of scripting.

-Make an object for the closed door of the drawer.
-Make an object for the opened door.
-Place the closed drawer where you want the door to be.
-Place the other one where you want it to be when you open it up, and click "Not Visible"

Interactions Editor:

-Go to the interactions editor for the closed object.
-Click on "Object Off".  Set the object to number for the closed drawer.
-Click on "Object On".  Set it to the open drawer object.

Then, to close it, do the opposite.

Scripting
-In the Interactions Editor, click on Run Script.
-Add:

objectOn(x);
objectOff(x);

Where X is the oppropriate object number.

I hear what you are saying.

1) If you want to brag about your game having "hand-drawn" backgrounds, please use another term such as "scanned backgrounds" or something similar.  Feel free to suggest a better term.

I think that if the original image outline was drawn using a real pen or a tablet pen, then it can be safely considered to be "Hand Drawn."
But, if the image was drawn using the line tool in Paint, it wouldn't consider it to be "Hand Drawn", just based on how a lot of people think about scanned images and hand drawings (even though techhnically you are using your hands to draw it).

This beauty...

...was "Hand-drawn" by myself (you can see why I signed up for Freehand Draw this school year  :P ).
If I were to use this in a game, I probably wouldn't seriously advertize it as one of the specs in my game.  I'd probably add it as a side note.

Has anyone ever played an AGAST game called AfterShocked! ?
I'd consider that game to be truly hand drawn.

SSH, oops, hehe.  I didn't see that one.   I should have looked.
