If you are making an IF template (seems a funny thing to want to do in AGS) I think scripting your own parser is the way to go... AGS's is really only usable for AGI sort of "verb noun" command games, and even then it can be frustrating for the coder to get a lot of things to work, an IF game player is going to find it quite frustrating.
A better parser could be done in a module, if someone feels like doing it, I might even use it myself.

Well I'm not desperate to make absolutely everyone vote But anyone that intends to, you have about 15 hours to do so, I'll close the voting at midday (GMT) tomorrow.

Oh and about N/A votes... I say, just pick 1, since we're trying to decide which wins in each category, and that's the closest to "doesn't deserve any points here".

A competition with unlimited time doesn't really seem worth making a competition... it's seems like just a ranking of all released games if they aren't released at the same time and voted on, and we already have that, on the games page.  If OROW is too short, people should consider entering MAGS... really OROW appeals, I think, because it is that short, people can take a week off their main projects to do something fun and different, without worrying about it getting delayed and eating up half a year.  Spending longer on a competition certainly isn't something I'd consider... If I'm going to spend months on a game it should be to my own rules, just because I really wanted to make it.

Feel free to organise something like this though... if other people are interested, but imo we have far too many competitions as it is, making the game that you want to make, to your own rules, is still fun!

I don't think shaders are advanced enough that you can stick in a bunch of physical properties and out pops something that loops like the material you wanted, you just need to wing it with whatever rendering system you have... only a few things like glass or water are easy to describe in simple parameters, everything else requires an artists touch I'd say.

Indeed, I think Grundislav is getting severely put off making more BJ games with the pestering that he's been getting.

Yes I've been made aware of that... it's not really a big deal I think, if someone very well known put their name in then I think there'd be problems, but I'll let this one slide.

Making your own DS game is quite possible, but AGS being ported? Probably not going to happen.

Yes, I have all downloaded games PMed to me so far.

I don't think it is a case of it being too much work... whoever it is assigned to tends to forget, that's all, I think.  So whoever it is now... just set up something to remind you once a month.  If it isn't assigned to anyone I don't mind doing it.

Such has the moral fibre of this nation decayed that you can now do this before you have been formally introduced, even if the young lady is unaccompanied by a male relative!
