hehe, the hotel... there I though is a puzzle, so

Spoiler
while finding out which floor I need to go to I figured: ok, I need a key, but do I kill the bartender/hotelboy first or the guy outside the door. One shot would attrackt the other guy, but then I could just grab the key...

I have to try if I can just shoot the guys outside the door :)

What a great game. So beautiful to look at and such a dramatic interwoven story. Sadly it is a bit short and linear in walking and giving the illusion of choice but really fun to play! But besides this linearity the gameplay flows really well, a bit well for my taste, as there are no puzzles to interrupt that flow and make me think. But the story does make me think, so that's okay ;)

@SeamanNaranja: ohnoes, I'm glad I did read your hidden text in the post before this one, otherwise I'd have tried it again too to try different paths and decisions... :P

hey Pindo, this is a great use of the shape. When I posted this topic I was worried for a moment that the shape is too mean, but now you got the ball rolling. I'm very interested in with what the other participants with spontaneous inspiration fill the shape.

I'm just saying I, as the host, won't reveal any authorship. If someone wants to reveal his/her authorship I can't stop you. I also won't tell if someone claims to have written what he didn't write, nor will I tell you if I submitted 2 stories or none ;)

Granted, but you always get a red card in the first 5 minutes of the game.

I wish I had a batcave.

Welcome to the new Coloring Ball.

The theme this time is Methods of Transportation. Anything goes, a train, a car, a bus, a spaceship, a snowboard, no matter what, at least it has to be able to transport people. Or just goods. You don't even have to add passengers, but of course this is a nice extra touch.

And here is the form:

[imgzoom]http://i.imgur.com/WonsFRW.png[/imgzoom]

What you can do:
Color the dark outline.
Rotate and also mirror the shape.
You can use all the color you like.

What you can't do:
You can't change the shape.
You can't distort the shape.
You can't make the shape bigger.

Happy painting. And don't hurt your head trying to figure out how to cram some vehicle into the form  :-D

Please submit your painting until the 25th of February 2015.

Move your vehicle (and your ass) to earn one of these unvaluable shiny bling bling rim trophys to get rolling even more!

A TRUE STORY IN A BAR TABLE

Spoiler
- A trip? What do you mean?

- Are you gonna travel or what?

- I know... you gonna to Machu Pichu!

- Chapada Diamantina!

- Arembepe!

- No my friends...another place... look!

* Since my daughter was born I relearned to marvel with the simple and beautiful things. I could go again to a infinitude of emotions and feelings that so long ago I had forgotten. In the real episode was a jet plane... those who leave a trail of "smoke"...you know...

When my little girl was 3 years old she was so excited to see them... she told me... with a big smile... "Look daddy...! Is the Chihiro's dragon!"... and wherever we were she always called me to see them flying and we did "Byeeeee" with our hands... "byeeeee"... as I did when I was a kid ...

From these moments  I created this habit... every time i see a  plane across the sky I stop everything that I'm doing and look at the top in silence with a big smile... like a passenger... losting my mind in the infinity blue... oh man...in this times some people look at me with a strange face (lol)...  but i never care... I'm flying and I will never lose this heaven again...

there must be more than just voting?!

I won't reveal any author, but won't guess on who wrote which story either, as I know it and it somehow takes away some of the suspense. The only drama left is the results...

A true story. A tale of pure drama. I was made aware of the fifty-five-words story competition just 4 minutes before midnight. Time for me to read the rules, it was already three to midnight. Was I going to make it? The clock was ticking. Counting the words... Only a few seconds left. Midnight. Ther--

The plate explodes against the wall behind me and I let out an agonized scream. Another hisses past my flinching shoulder. She grabs a kitchen knife and as she raises her arm to throw it, the door behind her swings open knocking the knife out of her hand and into the skull of our son.

”Take you back? After what you said, you expect me to believe that you suddenly care about me again?”
”My sweetheart, you're overreacting, I've always loved you! You must've misheard!”
”I know what I heard.”
”But, honey, I just said…”
”Yes? What did you say?”
”I just said… 'frankly, dear, I'd want me some ham!'”

„Deer!“ she screamed and grabbed the wheel. She made the car pass by the deer faster than he ever could have reacted.

Then he lost control over the car, slipped off the road and crashed into a tree. Three passengers painfully died in the resulting fire. Safety belts are hard to open when you're injured.

VIPER IN THE GRASS

“So I say, Whatever!  And I put on her pants instead!”
The company roared with laughter as Reggie shook his hips sassily and made his imitation of a feminine gait around the table.  He sat down to back-slapping and another Coors Light.
His wife sipped her dry martini, and plotted.

"How're things with your girlfriend?"
Esteban swallowed and ran his fingers through his hair. He tried to sip some water but his hands were shaking and it spilled.
"What?" I pressed.
His face darkened. His eyes darted from the surface of the table, to the wall behind me.
"Esteban?"
Finally he croaked "She's my sister."

Beryl looked at her husband and sighed.  It was their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday, but he wouldn't know it â€" or who she was.  Hell, he wouldn't even know himself â€" apart from as a mischievous schoolboy!  That's what dementia had done to him.  To Beryl… she was no longer his wife, she was his carer.

damned, just fake your timezone, your entry is anonymous, you know ;)
just for the jury, it was 0:03! 8-0
If you have some coffee fueled breakfast outbreaks of creativity or hungover bad monday morning dramas that happen to be 55 words long I might might might consider letting them slip in as I don't want to open the voting topic yet  :=
#1956
only 3h45m left. ~4 minutes per word for late entries!
if you want a photofinish send me your PM before midnight this sunday in your timezone. And tell me your timezone. Or just write a very dramatic story with only 55 words.

I'll post the collected stories tomorrow for everyone to read and vote.
#1957
Not much time is left, some stories arrived already, but it could be more. If you want to enter this edition of the 55 word story contest please get crunching...

I wonder if wordcount or lettercount is better suited as some helper here?
#1959
finally in the critiques longe.

They all look great! Better. A lot. I'm probably telling you nothing new, so here we go:
Your painting and the drawing techniques is getting really good, but get used to using some PS tools after finishing painting.
I hope you use photoshop, but gimp probably has the same option, I just don't know where.

Use some curves to make darker parts darker and brighter parts brighter. This adds more dynamic.
Then (or before) level up the saturation.
I did this for the case 2 BG, this is by far the most interesting composition.

the unedited version imho looks like on a bad weather day, while the final version looks like some heated desert...
while painting don't be shy and add some very bright highlights. But don't overdo it, use them, make them really bright, but use them sparsely.

the case 1 repaint reminds me so much of bob ross ;-D

This looks very funkey!
Is the menubar really changing color depending on the room you are in? Great!
