this nervous guy is a smuggler. We should demand some of his goods and some goldcoins and then give him the escort service ;)

While I made the highscore I couldn't close the game with ESC but had to close the task. Maybe this caused the bug? After restarting closing with esc works again.

edit: submitted another highscore and still nada, but could close the game with ESC :(

General Discussion / Re: Fave Club Tracks?

I normally don't listen to this kind of music, but there are some nice tracks

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzUrzgvPmB0 (with a nice video and this whole channel if full of these)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57VVXC5uKfg
also A.N.A.L. has some nice sets on soundcloud like this one.

yes, firefox opened the highscore table and my firewall didn't even complain about potentially sending out data :P

but you can make it block all clicks when there is a submit button and otherwise just clickety click.

Wow, play this game for 10 minutes in fullscreen on a big monitor and then close it and feel like on drugs when your brain still has this moving pattern going on. Or am I on drugs and things are actually moving?

edit:
Hey, I just submitted my highscore and it's not appearing in the list. What's up?

forget that you read this as I forgot that there is a whole new page to the thread :P

haha, sneaky floaty!
I already have a highscore of 5. The only thing where I see room for improvement is the button you have to click when there is a gameover. I don't move the mouse anyways while playing so why move it to the button, just make everything clickable. Especially since the cursor ALWAYS appears below the button so my arm subtely moves foreward a bit with every new game which is awkward.
Cool parallaxing desert!

damned, so close. Congrats to all winners and participants.

@janosbiro:
thanks, noted!

And Darth is right, this kind of stuff should be kept in private messages. Just a little bit more public privacy to get some more understanding to all reading this and probably wondering wtf is going on, I tried to convince abisso to improve on the bugreport system a lot already in private messages so he knows my opinion on that system pretty well and I can fully understand that he put it on low priority because no player will ever see this when enjoying the debugged game and he gets all the info for debugging he needs with it. And when playing Forge Ch.1 you see that it worked out great! But at least I tried... a lot... and I just have my opinions and like to express them, not always in the best way, but I'm working on that. But this thread is about the indy game and not internet message board drama, so I can say I was very happy when Monsieur OUXX showed us his debug console thingy for the indy game and made it a module so everybody can use it and improve on it. Now if you two master coders (and all other great module developers) please kiss and make the best module for debugging AGS games/sending bugreports ever there is even more positivety to take from that.

The Demo is quite old, there were plans to remake, improve and expand it but no promises as this is very sidetracking and not a huge priority atm. But please report bugs and oddities you find in the demo anyways as this helps us improve the whole game after all.

I like the dropshadow. The thing I did with the title is called typography or so, combined with the believe in the ability to read of the viewer.
FARAVID INT is capitalized as it is like that in the logo, but yeah, the bottom still looks empty, could also be left out when you have the names in the pic or shortened like in your version.
#2552
Hehe, after thinking about it, calling the forge debug thingy halfbaked is rather nice considering the insane amount of hair I tore out of my head (and darker places of my body) while typing in it, please don't be offended abisso, peace :=
#2553
okay, I also made a version :)

I also added an outline and made the tower on the right cut out from it, but my execution of it sucks, but you get the idea and with the painting source it might be easier to get this in.
#2554
probably because there is no

Code: css
.markItUp .imgzoom a {
    background-image: url("images/imgzoompictureURL.png");
}

in the style.css

cool. I don't care about the text in the imgzoom all that much, but this could come in handy:

now that is a charming thing!

and 1 space in front of the smileys when clicked;)

The image is cool looking and very artsy. I see that you don't want the logos on the painting but how they are placed at the moment looks unbalanced. The excessive empty black space at the bottom left is just totally strange, like a black hole sucking in all energy and dynamics from the nice painting. I somehow think that's why you ask for critiques... well, if there are more logos to come that's pretty fine though (once you have all the IGF and AGS trophys you can put these on the black space but atm it looks too emtpy), if these are indeed the only logos involved you might either go and take that step and place them onto the image (with some slight transparency maybe). Or just put them above the title (Faravid interactive and screen 7 present). Or put this line right below the title, that's totally edgy and artsy.
speaking of the title, i love typewriterfonts and it is very fitting for samaritian paradox but the mintcolor of the word paradox doesn't stand out from the cloudy background. I'd put an outline around the title or better some dark dropshadow with 0 distance or just a slight glow (play around with a bright orange-yellow on burn blending mode (at least I think that's the english name for that blending mode in PS) and different opacitys). For the color of the word paradox I'd either colorpick a color from within the painting to make it fit or invert the colors of the painting and colorpick one cool color from that (as it is a paradox alright). Or use a different typewriterfont for the word paradox. Or both. Or even more...
what could also look nice is a bolder outline in black or one of the darker cloudcolors around the whole thing.
