the exe you download is, as far as I know, already a zipped selfextracting archive, so zipping it again will not make it smaller. But I have an idea, I'll have to talk with Abisso about it.
#2726
Since Abisso is probably sleeping or preparing a nice post to put in here or to update the first post I just want to post this in the meantime...

but, ... but I'm too lazy to even enjoy myself playing a game and want you to play it for me and tell me about it in an entertaining way... well, uhm, it is on my to play list since you first mentioned it, haven't had time to play it yet ;)

this is a great idea and funny to go through.

Some ideas that could have made it even better:
* Some kind of menu to directly access the different stories, like jumping to the start of the story, not every page of it. I mean, all your preservation efforts are cool, but who needs the table of content preserved when you could have a menu with clickable chapters. I think you want to give that 'reading a book' experience, but let me tell you, you can also skip pages in books.
* higher resolution scans. The

on the stamp was not readable to me, it looked like letters but very blurred. For the written story text the resolution is totally okay, but to not increase filesize too much and if you know your way around in photoshop or gimp maybe scan with 2 different resolutions and replace the drawn parts of the page with the higher res scan and save as 1 background. Or overlay the important parts of the drawings with highres scans ASG objects saved as lossless png while the normal background should be fine as a jpg.
* some moody music.
* When trying to load a game at the very start of the game the mouse was not activiated and so it was impossible to chose a saved game or close the savegame dialog. Just activate the mouse before or use a different mousecurser before the actual game.

yeah, look at the commercials for the candybar and copy their cameraangles and tricks as in features that are accented in the commercials. But milkyway tastes crap, mars is way better and you can have the delicious caramel dripping out. Also I'd experiment with ridiculously over the top bright highlights on the candybar (especially on caramel) to make it look more shiny and more delicious.

hey, after you reviewed your own games in this episode (again), why don't you both play and review 1 AGS game per episode/week or add an ASG games review corner with 2-4 games once a month? I'm very interested in your educated opinion on various ASG games and think this would be very fitting for the blue cup tools podcast and since you also have listeners outside of the blue cup this will also get more people to play some lovely games. It would be cool if you even announced what game will be reviewed the next week (as in after recording but before publishing the podcast) so listeners have 1 week to play the game and make up their own mind about the game and know what you're talking about when making fun of various aspects of the game. I haven't played almost 99% of the AAA games you are talking about and I am not that interested in them.

Are you old enough to start a kickstarter?

our military advisor and hero should see these kind of things and should know what he's talking about. So I'm interested in what the king himself thinks on these men. And as we are the king and have no other info than lancelots word we should really see them fight. So Ryan's first options sound the most promising. And of course we want to see what our military advisor really can do or if he is just talking to not lose his position. We should tell both leaders that the winner will either be the only swords we hire (lancelot wins) or the winner commands over the loser (Axemont wins).
So either we don't hire these mere 15 men for way too much gold and do ryan's number 2 or we can also negotiate anew with lancelot if he and his men lose and maybe have both armys for 3 goldpieces each and send some of them to hunt dragons and bring in more gold and treasure.

And we should ask the jester for our royal wizard or alchemist or both. This is sure interesting to know what he has in stock for us. Some potions that can make negotiation with fartraveled merchants easier or firework weapons to support the guards or equally magic stuff.

Well for now I can offer:

Dave Gilbert presenting Blackwell Epiphany:

Dave creates a nice atmosphere for presenting the newest blackwell game. Was probably cool to be there and great to watch. But the cameraangle is way too angly!

but be realistic, every big nation is built on debt and our people still don't know us...

> initiate big party for the new king

this can easily be combined with a census btw ;)

+1 :=
I'm so much more interested what happens then than I want to advice people to handle the money task, all this will happen anyways, not that we could influence stock trade outside of our kingdom, but maybe we should invest in heros, these are alway the most interesting part of adventures, except when the game focuses on an antiheros, but, hey, we are the king baby!
