workaround idea: Put another frame before the first frame, preferrably a black frame and render and try again.

This is a great idea. The coat of sweat and dirt keeps you warm and also keeps away other people that only consist of bacteria and viruses they got from other people this time of the year anyways.

i know feature requests are over, but imho this is a really quick fix.
When I have a 320x200 game in ags 3.2.1 and make a new gui the new gui is always only 300 pixels wide on default. This is really annoying. I haven't checked on higher resolutions and afaik there is no way to set the default new gui size in general settings. Just let the new gui width default to 320px and not 300px width. I came to the conclusion I use fullscreen Guis and non fullscreen guis in almost equal amounts. So 50% of the guis I create are fullscreen (fullscreen menu screens, colored guis for fading effects) while I have to change the width for all various widths of non fullscreen guis anyways, and none of them ended up being 300 px wide. Why 300 and not 320 anyways?

And now I wonder how .mkv looks on videos in 320x200 compared to ogv in 320x200. HD would look more crispy pixely with less artifacts or maybe it looks just like squished through a ridiculous sharpening filter for the HDPixels. Would be cool to control the way mkv scales up from there

did you know that .mkv is open under  GNU LGPL (there were some problems with AGS and GNU licenses...) and support 1080p videos?!
VLC is the player for mediafiles, and I did read that it can convert videos to ogv but somehow it didn't work for me
