module? This should be (optionally) included with a fresh AGS install as a demo game besides the normal demo game.

you're playing Sword & Sworcery now? Don't tell me you you haven't played Faster than Light yet!? I got FEZ with the recent humble bundle (but haven't played it yet, gotta do that now, now that it was mentioned on the BCTP (oh, btw, I haven't played planescape torment yet, should I?)), so if that is where you got it, go play FTL and podcast about it while you both are playing it batteling out who dies first :D

have fun in NY ben :D

I forgot to tell you, when I look outside my backwindow I actually see just a brickwall, so to not go crazy over this claustrophobic view I create little streetscenes with little figurines on my windowboard to make them look like they are part of the outside world. 8-)

I'll probably really animate this thing, there is something to it...

So the ticket inspector is some kind of charon bringing you over the styx into hades. If you don't have a ticket you pay him, just like you need coins to cross the styx.

I suck! I'm stuck at the first puzzle. I need to find the key in his room, looked under his bed where the key probably ist but can't find a way to lift the matress, move the matress, grab into it from the other side or otherwise get what is under the bed :P

okay, now I get it. The text demanding the ledge/furniture was outside, so I thought we are free to add furniture on the outside of the windowview. But I'll add it in. And just to make things clear, the frame also has to be inside the shape, not outside!?

I should mention that I'm using Opera 12.15. My resolution is 1280 x 1024 pixels.

Same on FF24.0

I look out my backwindow and see an old road with a guy in it and an old lantern...
I went for a low colorcount. Looks a bit boring though, I guess it's from the lack of action and not the low colorcount. So I think I'll either add more stuff or animate the windowscene.

I wouldn't display a message saying you can't walk there anytime the player clicks outside a walkable area or a hotspot/object/character. This gets annoying for the player really fast. If you have a scene with a blocked off way just add a hotspot for the blocked path and treat it like a hotspot with all needed interactions. If you don't give the hotspot a name its name won't be shown on any GUI and behave like a normal part of the background except when clicked on.

Now that's an intriguing form and topic! ;-D

So what are these huge bags?
The first obvious thought that comes to my mind are coffins.
But maybe they are more. Like a symbol for the train where our hero is trapped alone like in a coffin. When travelling in a moving coffin like the train you have your whole life stuffed into a bag, like all your life, your good deeds and sins get stuffed into a coffin on your final travel.
But maybe I'm missing the bigger picture with all these creepy characters like the garbeling man and the barkeeper that is not there (who reminds me of shining a lot), what's your opinion.
Is the hero dead already or just crazy?

from crop optimization minigame to png optimization, well, wasn't there something about AGS using its own algorithms to store graphics and it doesn't matter if PNGs are optimized or not? If it works to reduce game filesize this would be nice though.
I use png gauntlet to optimize pngs.

isn't he the author of this? :P ;-D

1) Story Elements/Idea - Anian, just to motivate you to actually make this game ;)
2) Atmosphere - Jwalt, normally I'm not a big fan of 3d renders for static gamebackground, but this one offers a lot.
3) Technique and composition - Jwalt, normally I like pixel art more than 3d, but anians has lots of strange lights and shadows, so the 3d render is better composed, but also easier to compose.
4) Functionality - Anian

within the forum: the quickreply still has the bbcode buttons above the message box, but when previewing the quickreply the bbcode buttons are gone.

edit: the edit version of the post also still has the bbcode buttons ;)

I'm always interested in coloring balls, but I didn't 'see' anything worthwile to draw within the last few forms, so I can't promise I'll deliver something, but of course I'll try to.
make it an interesting theme or form or even better both and chances are high I and lots of other artist join in on the fun.
