I'm not sure what it is, but something about it is the exact thing that I like about films.
its gangster attitude with some weirdo humor and funny visuals maybe  :-D

people are busy, themes are interesting to gamemakers or not. participation happens or not. Last june or july was great and had a lot of great games come out of mags, maybe this summer mags is back at its glorious height. I wanted to join but all the themes this year just didn't catch me, sorry theme makers.

Also update the december mags link in the IRC greeting message. Announcing the current mags theme in a forum banner sure gets some attention to it, still if the theme is not interesting or people are just busy you will get only that many entries.

that's an interesting read and approach to gamedesign.

what about chester, who plays for the comedic value, either the intentional, like funny things painted into the background, but also the unintentional, like whacky animations that look a bit dirty and the like.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_of_the_Living_Dead#Copyright_status_and_home_media

The film is not copyrighted, it is in the public domain, noone holds the rights on it, so who would sue you? I think you can use the whole movie including audio. The reworked 4K version seems to have some copyright on it, as there went some work into making the crappy video footage from then into a crisp and sharp 4K movie, but if you scale the whole movie down to a small screen inside the small screen of an AGS game it might be fun for some players to watch the freaking whole movie inside the game. When scaled down enough and encoded clever the movie data might be even smaller than the corresponding audio data :)

PS. Realised this thread is a bit older, would be nice for an update too selmiak :)

yeah, this could be his personal fail blog, some of his escapades are rather entertaining when you hear about it, but not when you witness it firsthand, but atm I asked him to not drink at my place and not come around drunk and it seems to work. he got a bit more silent and thoughful (or so...) and is nice to have around, he is a friend after all. I hope this lasts. If not there might be some funny fail updates and I lose some hair but I think I found the right interval between. Thanks for all your replies so far ;) ;-D

for those curious and interested in what can go wrong, the last time he disappeared for 3 weeks he left his hotplate on on 50% heat, could have burned down his flat (the one with the broken door) and has to pay quite some money he doesn't have for the energy now. *tears out hair*

Um... no.

Besides, there is already something coming up (spoilers).

the camera and layers and jumping between layers is cool. And that multiviewport is trippy, hah!
After reading up on monoags here i wonder...
QuoteCoding your game:

The official language for coding your game is C#. There are a lot of resources online for learning c# if needed.
Any chance the team/tzach tries to rescript, reimagine, emulate AGS Script, so transition to monoAGS is easy?

would you code AGS modules for money CW?

What could be in an AGS module that would costs money?
Anyway, that does not sound like a stable fulltime job...
I'd pay for the tweenmodule and the like just because it's very useful! But you are right, other engines have a more monetized ecosystem than ags, so this is indeed no stable fulltime job.

u serious?
of course it's

you could always start a patreon page where people just pay you a monthly sum and get some simple rewards in return.
I'm curious if you know of programmers who've succesfully made this work.
[/quote]
sadly not, otherwise I'd have noted what they offer for their patreons. Maybe someone else reading this knows of someone who made this work.
No idea if a 'Request a feature for AGS'-reward wouldn't backfire on the freeusers and devtime. Though these asked for features are probably really needed, so it should be a good thing. But if some more games like last & furious come out and maybe 2-3 months after the exclusive patreon release get released for everybody I'm fine.
Once I find out how to make money from indie PnCs I'll add something to the pot, no matter the rewards.

just a quick blender photoshop image...

that's a very nice edit funkpanzer! ;-D

you could always start a patreon page where people just pay you a monthly sum and get some simple rewards in return. Artists paint exclusive pictures only for patreons, no idea what coders would do as a reward and what patreons would expect, but I'd expect some commercial AGS users to pay something for you. There are more commercial AGS devs than those that post in these forums here, let's hope they find out about this. Either way, you should totally open a patreon for your ags dev work and get a real job anyways and still develop more on AGS.

so it was all good for some days and now we wanted to visit a friend and are 1 hour late already because he had to listen to music loud and drink. once we finally left his flat and door closed he just said... oh noes. I said please no! he said, yes. well, his keys are inside and at this very moment he is very drunk and he and his greek neighbour are trying to break into his flat. funny if it wasn't so sad. Then I just went away, probably the best thing to do for my nerves. >_>
