There isn't a zoom for the middle though..  You can't get to that little blur in/near Oklahoma where me, netmonkey, and bluke4x4 are. I just found the cleverness in me to move my name so I could copy the image to clipboard and make it big enough to read though.

Then send the owner of the site your translations and ask that he post those as well. Offer to help out with more translations, or proofread his.

Whether you enjoy it or not, it's still nice of you.

I was kidding.  ;D

Yeah, it would save you a lot of nagging in the end if you requested that, haha.

Yeah, at least he doesn't reply and defend his stupidity. He's only had 10 posts, if you wouldn't reply to it, it'd just sink to the bottom.

Also, have you posted at a forum meant for technical computer questions? It seems like something obscure, you may be more likely to find someone who's had the same problem that way.

Hey jaz, I don't have a game review in a different language for you to translate, but I think it's awesome that you took your time to do all of those. I just wonder if you are secretely the person behind them.. hmm...

Well, I'm sure the reason for the "2" is because the Final Fantasy series is stereotypically not building upon a single plot from one game to the next.. they use the same personality for the main character, and the end result is saving the world (hence final fantasy) but each story is dramatically different. You think of Final fantasy 1-10 as 10 totally different stories. So if they made an 11 and it was based on 10, then it would seem all weird and stuff. People would bitch, traditions would be confused.

I think a better idea would be to say Final Fantasy 10: {distincting title here}

Oh, and "Lily" (if that is your real name) why didn't you complain about someone saying 8 was total crap? You didn't let me off the hook that easy.

..and Phil, your post registers an 8 on my lame-o-meter. That's bad, because I only register a 5 and I have a lame-o-meter.  Low on content high on n00bishness. If you hadn't mentioned FF VII I can't really say what would happen..

Macs are supposed to be great for art and graphics design, and they actually run faster than PC's. I don't have one, because they are less compatible with the PC dominated world, but I think it's wrong to bash him for having one.. Kinda like bashing someone for using Linux..

Anyway, the answer to your question is no, because AGS is programmed in C++. The games only compile and run on PC's.

Most AGS games do run on old PC's though, and since old PC's are cheap and plentiful (sometimes given away) you may look for one of those to play adventures on.

This makes no sense at all, but I keep hearing it:

QuoteJust teaching the kids what they'd have to learn anyway.

The baby is one month old! What is it going to learn? At this crucial stage, here's what a baby knows how to do:

1. Shit itself
2. Make noise

I mean even disregarding the age, what is being learned by watching daddy throw food at a wild animal from his arms?

QuoteIn a 2 minute interview I saw of him, he said that there were more children mauled to death by dogs each year than people attacked by crocs in the past 5 years. It's just 'perceived danger' and it causes a lot of paranoia.

... The reason for that is not because crocs aren't dangerous, but because there are millions of dogs and they are in the homes with the children, rather than being an endangered species that has limited contact with humans. That's like saying climbing around in an electrical substation isn't dangerous because fewer people die doing that than by shock from the outlets in their home. The ratio of dogs/children and crocs/children is so drastically different that of course the numbers will be much different.

I watched an interview of him too, where he said he would do it again, just without cameras. I think the guy is a fool for endangering his child. No matter how big a proffessional he is, he's almost died many times in accidents, and there's no promising his child is perfectly safe in his arms just because nothing has happened yet. It's his child though, and there isn't really a law against what he did, so I don't think there's a reason to do anything about it. It really doesn't make any difference to me, because I'm not a fan of his anyway. All of the media attention for it when 60k people died in Bam last week seems stupid.

General Discussion / Re:treatment of ""noobs"
Tue 06/01/2004 04:56:33
Generally, I think the class of the forum (lack of flamers, n00bs) depends on the topic. These people are usually not the brightest apples in the barrel, regardless of how good they toss insults at people for no reason. That being said, there are a few here, but not a ton, because AGS is too hard for them to use, I think. I only arrived at this conclusion because I've been a regular at another forum for 3 years and NEVER seen a ONE flame.. because it's about building your own Vacuum Tube Powered Guitar Amplifier. The annoying people who end up in technical places usually leave after they realize there's no chance of them understanding the forum topic. They are the heaviest in places where they can talk about things they understand, like water, and britney spears.

Realize I'm not talking about people who are new, but rather, people who are annoying and/or stupid.

The funniest thing, is if you say STFU and RTFM to a genuine, 100% pure n00b, they're gonna reply:

thanx, but whta deos tat mean? XOXO  :) :) :)

I detest beer. I guess it's an acquired taste, but it SMELLS gross, TASTES gross, and it gives heaps of people a beer gut.

Heh, if you read the link below in my sig, you'll find out that lowfat milk is more likely to give you a "beer gut" than beer. Usually that is just the attribute of a person who eats a lot and exercises rarely.

there's still a rivalry between the US and Russia?

during the time when USA was all bombing Iraq, I talked with some random russian guy via ICQ and he told me russians think america gonna get them next...

Bush stated after a visit to Moscow that he considered Russia an ally and a friend around the beginning of his term. People couldn't believe it. Bush had Russia's leader over to his Texas ranch for a visit as well, I think.

If you think about it though, they've dumped the communist regime and are now no threat at all to us. Sure, have nukes, but the economic situation is so poor that we're sending them tons of $$$. Pretty much, they've fallen and are slowly starting to stand back up, but will probably not become nearly as tense with us as we once were. There's no reason to be. The comment about "they're gonna get us next" was probably because Russia was against the takeover of Iraq, and people were assholes to all of those countries that did that. Freedom Fries? Pshh...

Vodka and some sort of fruit juice is my favorite.

I don't typically drink beer, because beer in Oklahoma is a bit watered down because state law prohibits (normal) 6 pt. beer.. we have 3.2 pt.  It tastes gross, but out of them all I usually like Coors Light.

I usually drink until my walking skills are affected and then stop or signifcantly slow down, because I like to avoid the throwing up/getting sick part.

Why didn't you post your favorite? Isn't it a bit strange to ask everyone else and not say anything for yourself? I guess since you're a "pirate" I'll assume you like rum.

Heh, you left the chat before I could say anything. It looks great! ... But I think I'll hold out for an English version to play it.

QuoteBut Americo was sitting in a desk drawing and thinking and was not an adventurer so he has less charisma than Columbus.

Mapmakers today maybe.. but Amerigo had to sail the coasts noting positions of the stars to know where he was and make semi-accurate maps. He was just as much an adventurer as any crewman of Colombus was.. except he knew he wasn't going to sail off of a cube.
