Easy is a very relative word.

Wings3d is easy to get started with.
Blender is easy to work very fast in with great efficiency once you've learned it.

I downloaded a trial of Zbrush2, if I could learn how to use it I'd call it the nicest modeller I've ever touched. I almost bought the student version for $200 something, but unfortunately Blender doesn't support high-res disp mapping and I couldn't find an alternative (read: free) renderer..  :-\

I still don't get it, unless it's what I've always thought it was (something that just doesn't exist) but no one has ever kindly verified that for me.

I noticed the typo, however neither come up in any searches.

LAMEST JOKE EVER.

Well, since this is a directly correlated problem and removing the PS/2 mouse fixes the problem, I maintain that there is a hardware conflict, specifically probably with the IRQ addresses, given my past experience with the same sort of problem. They're automatically set, and automatically prioritized, so if you'd never used the mouse before or even used a different mouse before this one you wouldn't have run into the problem before.

It's not terribly hard, go to the BIOS by pressing delete or possibly F10 at startup, scroll through the menu choices until you see something about IRQ, and check to make sure no numbers are the same.

I still don't get it.

Is it a blurring mechanism? Blender has Zblur, but it's weird, you have to do it using the sequence editor, which barely anyone messes with because it's an animation tool. Most people only do stills and ignore pretty much 70% of the code.

Have you used the serial mouse before? Has anyone tampered with the BIOS settings?

I used to have conflicts with seemingly unrelated things like that (mouse and video card, sound card and video card). There are some channel settings in the BIOS, they're called IRQ ports. If two things are set to the same channel then only one will work.

If I remember right, you can only set these in the BIOS but I remember being able to view which was set to what in Windows 3.1. Yes, it's been that long since I've had to mess with them.

No, since Blender does not support Zvarly model standard version 3.

I still have no idea what that is, so I maintain that it doesn't matter.  :D

Farlander.. cover your eyes. You're not going to like this.

Never heard of Blender, eh?

Soon I'm supposed to make a game using entirely digital logic components. That is, no programming as you'd know it, but it's basically arranging blocks of transistors so that a circuit does what you'd want it to. This is an assignment for my Digital Logic Design class. I was told pong can be made in a day, so my engineering team and I have gotta make some twist on it. I wonder if a simple 3d pong game would be possible without complicating things much?

Look up Leo Kottke, Michael Hedges and/or Michael Gulezian. Be amazed. I had the thrill of seeing and meeting the third guy live at my college student union.

The thing with a 12-string isn't that it can't be a lead instrument, but that it's so damned hard barely anyone does it well.

General Discussion / Re: Picking a Career

I can't comment much on going into that field, I'm sure you already realize that it's a potentially dead-end career that not many people succeed in, so I'll just say:

QuoteIt's gotten to the point now where I'll randomly hold out my hands and form a frame with my finger, looking at potential shots around me. I'll also observe the lighting and say "Hot shit, in this light, that collection of sporks would make a great picture!" It's truly addicting.

I'll bet this looks freaking hilarious.

I chose electrical engineering and it's turning out to be the most difficult task I've ever taken on in my life.

btw sorry if that sounds harsh, but that's pretty much the way it is. All kinds of people dream of being CEO's, musicians, artists, movie directors, actors.. and it's difficult to succeed amid the masses. If I would have realized how difficult it was to be a NASA engineer I might have went into economics or accounting - fields that are easy but so boring that hardly anyone goes into it so there's mucho easy money.

The 12 string is the superior acoustic guitar. I do not know why there aren't more of them, but I do know that I'm glad I have one.

25.5million Russians sacrificed themselves to save the world in WWII... I dont understand how this could be fear? And the way some of you make it sound is that there is no "right" only opinions... is that possible?

Most of them were civilians who died while Germany attempted to march through to Moscow and take over. There was fighting in the streets, that's always bloody.

Stalin kind of let it happen to unite the country against a common enemy. He also intentionally sacrificed lots of Russians just so they could get to Berlin before the Allies. I wouldn't say they did it so much willingly (except for the civilians fighting to protect their homes) as they did it from orders.

That's kind of how I feel about being an American.
