Trademarks can be renewed indefinately, copyrights have a limit depending on the medium that is usually about enough to cover the lifetime of the person who registered the copyright.

After 20 years your patent is public domain, unrenewable. I wasn't aware of any exceptions, and it's weird that pharmaceuticals would be.. guess I didn't do enough reading.

I'm with the other guy.. I still remember the last one, couldn't have been that long ago.. Where do you stop SSH?! 10?? 15??

Congrats anyway, but you'll regret it when there are 30 of them running around.

They've been upgrading for months, since Gmail came out. Since they couldn't afford to do it all at once they started with the oldest and premium accounts and moved down from there.

Today I remembered another old favorite when my little sister had a nosebleed.

Ralph to Lisa - "The doctor said my nose would quit bleeding if I'd just keep my finger out of there."

I've always loved cats.. they don't take any BS, so I can relate with them more than dogs.

What did you and Paul Sr. talk about? I'd love to get the chance to meet that guy.

If you really want to read a lot of Simpsons quotes, just search for them instead of asking in a forum.. http://www.google.com/search?q=simpsons+quotes&sourceid=firefox&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

The other picture I took in the bathroom is inappropriate.

I also intended to post my predicted roadmap to the election, but the forums were down.

Things clearly didn't go as planned.

If you have windows go to the "search" function in the start menu and search for "5days.exe"

It'll be in a temp folder somewhere, you can grab the files from there and move them if they still exist.

I don't really care about baseball, but I have some friends in Boston who are probably going to wake up with some killer hangovers in unforseen places tomorrow.

I think the curse is bullcrap, they've just sucked a lot for a long time.

don't call them hobbits until we can prove that they have hairy feet and make a killer rice cake

I don't know about the rice cake, but it's likely that they were hairy given their position on the evolution scale and similar size to monkeys.

Iceman (Sierra) is really fun. I remember there being some copy protection built into it somewhere though, buy the game or find the manual if it's legally available on the internet.

Hey, maybe dwarves are the result of intertwined DNA between these people and us! It could happen, right?

No netmonkey, go there, it has a front page and several sub-sections with the most popular (most likely to be liked by me?) news. Ironically, if you actually do that though, this is the first thing that comes up, haha.

Tak, it isn't that you have no right to post what you want.. it's just that he wasn't all that rude about it, he stated his opinion calmly and you over-reacted afterward. Besides that, he isn't a native english speaker and makes terrible grammatical errors that offend people's mothers sometimes, so you'd better get accustomed to it.

I know Spaniards have a terrible reputation for being newb-eaters, but give him a chance.

No, but news.google.com has an amazing way of turning up articles that I like to read. I wonder if they track the articles I click with cookies sometimes.

Ancient, Tiny Humans Shed New Light on Evolution

QuoteAll Things Considered, October 27, 2004 · In a cave on the Indonesian island of Flores, scientists have unearthed the bones of a species of human never seen before. About three-feet-tall when fully grown, Homo floresiensis resembles some of our most primitive ancestors -- but lived as recently as 13,000 years ago. They made tools and hunted dwarf elephants, but were physically unlike modern pygmies.

A missing link? The way the article talks, the answer is no.. but it's still interesting.

Thoughts?

You're not missing much, it's just a simple FPS demo with a plot kind of like Resident Evil. The link is dead, I PM'd the creator to see what's up.

I should also mention that there's no way to just understand the game engine without reading about it, most of the info can be found through the links in the gameBlender forum. Some people have Blender for years and never know about the game engine being there.

There is a big list of Blender games here but I didn't want to mention it because they aren't all compiled (read: you must run them through Blender). There is an abandoned MI game in there that's pretty cool (you can play through a room).

Hellstation (FPS made completely in Blender)

Find out how to use Blender with the downloadable documentation at blender.org

There are awesomer, better engines, but not for lack of scripting and with an integrated modeler. There is an EXE export, and recently the engine was sped up with Frustrum culling (won't load anything outside of camera view).

If you don't like the modeller most 3d files can be imported from other programs with no need for plugins.

I finally figured out where the other quizzes were coming from.

Finally, some accuracy!

I have a terrible memory.
