Lol, ****.

As retarded as it is, I kind of want to join now that I've read a bit about Nemsa. I agree with you DG, it's better to judge brainpower by all of the things the brain does, but the idea of gathering groups of intelligent people just to hang out and debate stuff is appealing to me.

Plus, one guy in the Tulsa group builds robots and has a home foundry.

I think I made a 135 on my high school IQ test, so I doubt I'd be able to get in.

So I guess we're starting to see why the current systems have a hard time preventing bad parenting. Any radical changes are going to have radical (and sometimes bad) consequences. I don't think anyone can disagree with disallowing pregnancy to substance abusers, but other things are too arbitrary to actually put in place. The current laws in the US do try to prevent bad parenting, but it requires intervention from people close enough to the kids to testify and thoroughly prove there is a problem. I think this is good and bad.. it's good because a lot of teenage kids are dumb enough to pretend they have more problems than they really do and get their parents in a shit-heap of trouble.

They won't jump in front of cars on purpose.

The problem with letting them roam free is that they don't always pay a lot of attention to all of their surroundings and they jump in front of cars by accident. How many times have you seen a child chase a ball into the street, or for that matter, play ball games in the street? Assuming you lived in a neighborhood with kids that played outside a lot, I would guess that it was more than a few times.

Have you taken an IQ test?

There are a lot of things that are challenging to your mind and not memory. For example, I was given a verbal test and was required to recite large numbers in reverse, spell large words in reverse, find patterns, etc. It's not stuff you can study and even to practice you'd need to have a bit of brainpower anyway.

It should be irrelevant that most people haven't seen an IQ test, because it's based on statistics that allow for it. You've seen national polls that are estimated with an input of only a few thousand.. they can be very accurate when done properly.

I also try not to feel too good about myself, because I believe that everyone is of the same intelligence distributed to different areas.. around me most people distribute it to Nascar and Country music trivia, unfortunately.

General Discussion / Are you fit for Mensa?
Tue 28/09/2004 09:24:02
Mensa has an online "workout" quiz that will sort of determine whether you're likely to qualify for membership. I thought it was interesting, so I took it, and I made 20/30 with 28 questions answered in the timeframe given. According to the test, this means I have "a good chance," which probably means I'd score a couple of questions below the minimum and be laughed at. I took an IQ test in high school and wouldn't have qualified then.

You can take the test here. The time limit is 30 minutes, but it isn't imposed unless you want it to be.

For those not familiar with Mensa, it is an organization whose only membership requirements are that you score above 98% of the general population in a qualified IQ or Mensa test.

What sucks is... I imported a gift into the sprite editor for AGS to have... and it took the sprite to walmart and exchanged it for cash.... Damned ungrateful program...

Wal-Mart has already made its way to the middle east?  :o

The last thing I want is any system that questions my right to have a child, no matter what it is it's going to take away my freedom. Required marriage is arbitrary, since that's a traditional thing that a lot of people don't believe in. Besides, with a 50% divorce rate, how can you trust people to take it seriously anyway? Income, criminal record? I thought this was the land of oppurtunity? You sound pretty conservative Darth, especially with that "prove who the father is" part. I don't think that should lose someone their child. It might seem like there is no shortage of people waiting to adopt excess babies but that's only a half-truth since most adopting parents want a white newborn baby. Most babies up for adoption are of mixed race and they're hard to find parents for (at least, in Oklahoma).

Despite that, I feel like I live around the low end of the gene pool. I don't know what could fix it because there are too many idiots to count and if we banned them all from having babies we probably wouldn't have a population for very long.

It's a symptom of bookmarking the forum directly instead of the directory, sometimes.

Offer suspended until a later date; Animation in progress.
I can still do quickies like the sample below though.
[/edit]

I'm bored with what I've been doing in 3D so I thought I'd try to learn some more animation skills. I'll make two or three of these and edit here when the offer is no longer open.

I know how you all like to have company names like "Wet Dog Entertainment" or "Not A Real Company At All Adventures." I will make your intro animation. You know how when you turn your playstation on it says Sony in some flashy animation and then Playstation, or actually I can't remember because I haven't used a playstation in years. Anyway, most of the time those are done in 3d now because it looks really cool and it's not that hard.

Here is a sample that I whipped up in 5 minutes (zipped, 118 kb, .avi)
To accept my offer you should PM me with details of what the content is and preferably a few storyboard frames of what you want it to look like. For example, in the above movie I wanted my nickname "shbazjinkens" to spin from the top down a central axis and a flying robot was to illuminate it with blue light. I think it's 8 seconds long. You may want thousands of mirrored panes to fly in to form your company logo in the desert, and I would turn that into dozens of panes because thousands would take way too long. I also need to know what format you want and what codec to use, physical size, resolution, etc.. I wouldn't suggest using the divX codec because it watermarks the video.

Preferably, there should be something to show of a game you are making so I won't be wasting time in a literal sense.

Final results will be much better than the sample, that's why it's just a sample.  :=

Why in hell would the Army need to be protected by Websense? From games?!

Isn't the internet there so that you can relax a bit, e-mail friends and family, etc?

Write your congressman, before websense blocks e-mail and everything else that isn't the websense website. Also, if you use any proxy you should be able to get past it. An anonymizer, for example.

If you set the quality to 100, there will be few or no artifacts. If you use a PNG there will be no artifacts no matter what the compression though.

Good render, Modron.

That's nothing, I've been selling AGS on eBay for uber cash since 2001.

I had a long absence from the AGS Forums and I did not post this kind of thread. I don't know why..........

No exaggerated sense of self-importance?

DG I'm glad someone else remembered international talk like a pirate day.

DG, don't be ridiculous, it's been two months.

Welcome back, friend! The community had wilted in your absence. We've been needing this.
