Check trademark laws too, that's usually the real issue.

I used to collect pre WWII inflation German banknotes to use them as wall decorations. Heh, 10.000.000.000 Reichmarks anyone?

In my high school history book there were pictures of people burning those for warmth.

No it wouldnt, if The Inventory went commercial it would be a great think for adventure games.

The way I see it, commercial equals monetary cost while free equals no cost for anyone which exponentially widens the audience. So how is going commercial "better" for adventure gamers? If you're thinking exposure, you're wrong.

How to torture your sims to death.

I was able to get into the sims at one time in my life, and that was when we had to drive from Oklahoma to Florida and there was nothing else to do in the van besides read a book for the third time or argue with my siblings.

That website brings back memories.

QuoteYou can buy genuine Roman-era coins from the giftshop in the museum in my city. They're not all that rare..

The Roman era spanned over thousand years, and there must have been a multitude of different monetary units...so that's pretty vague, AGA

Not really. Saying "Roman era" would guarantee that it would be at least 1200 years old, given that was (approximately) how long ago the Romans' reign ended.

Anyway, the coins themselves don't say "Roman era" on them, they have the details of exactly which emperor was reigning when the coin was used...

I didn't realize they were all that common until I saw them on eBay. Interesting little pieces of history.

I think 2004 has been a cumulative year for criticism for America. And I don't just mean internationally, but within America too. More Americans are voicing their dissatisfaction with the country, and that goes from your Michael Moores to the person on the street who thought the Iraq war was a mistake. The last few years have been a bit of a wake-up call for a lot of Americans, and from the sounds of it I think there are more and more people who want to set things right. Not because it looks good in the eyes of other countries, but because people just want a better country than what they have now.

This is OT, but I really wish all of the people preaching that all Americans need to die on the streets of Middle-Eastern countries knew that. I wonder sometimes if they realize that a good portion of Americans feel the same way they do about our government.

EDIT:
Except that we're infidels and need to die.

A friend of mine usually doesn't have fingerprints.  She makes miniature wooden toys (we're talking so small you can hold them on your fingertips) and constant use of sandpaper and solvents wears her fingerprints away.

No, she was probably brewing moonshine. Capone had the same result.

Toes man, Toes.

And if they don't have legs either, then WTF are they doing with a computer and how did they get the money?

Man, you don't want to know what Oklahoma's (USA) website would look like if they wrote in the dialect.

Quote from: Geoffkhan on Sat 11/09/2004 00:06:37you're probably going to want a condenser mic. My advice would be to go with the 'Sure'.

Condencer mic's require a phantom powered mixer.  Dynamic mic's dont.   Look up the definition of both before you decide what to buy.

Not true - the signal is smaller but it doesn't require a phantom powered mixer. Phantom power is provided to reduce noise by boosting the signal strength (noise will have a small value and by boosting the signal you're yelling over the noise, electrically). If you have a good sound card (preferably external if you want serious quality) and quality cable you shouldn't have more noise than a typical computer microphone bleeding into your signal. XLR to 1/4" phono converters usually have a small audio transformer inside to take care of the impedence mismatch, these are the long thin ones that cost about $10. It isn't preferable by any means, so you're sort of right, but I just wanted to clear that up.

None of that matters though, because the SM57 is a dynamic mic.

It's been proven that simple jello-like moldings can defeat fingerprint readers as well. I thought about coating my finger with a fake print when I renewed my drivers license, because I don't like being subjected to that kind of scrutiny (the chance of my prints matching with some crime and having to defend myself against the guilty until proven innocent system). Unfortunately, the chances of that working are extremely slim so I just cut off another guys hand while the clerk wasn't looking.

If you're going to record guitar, get a Shure SM57 and buy an adapter or (if you have one) run it through a mixer first. The PG57's cheaper and nearly as good.

If you didn't know, the SM57 is the industry standard for live guitar capture as well as vocal. There's one on any national level government podium (in the USA).

You can use any passive mic with a PC with an adapter. The XLR jack is three pin but don't be fooled, only two are used.

EDIT: Geoffkhan only spelled "Shure" wrong because I did.  :-\ Sorry.

Cool! I wish I'd known about this earlier. I think I would have gone to see the catacombs instead of Jim Morrissons grave, when me and my girlfriend was in paris in july, if I had.

No, you should have seen both, skipping Morrisson's grave would be a high crime for a true fan.

I would guess that the "..." in the URL had something to do with it. The link was on the front page though, so no worries.
