No, never. Have you ever tried this?

Holy shit that's ridiculous. At least they're mostly threads talking about 3d anyway.

I thought the game engine could have escaped your notice, sorry.

If I am not mistaken Blender3d can make games.

Wow, where did you find out about that?  :o

Well, first of all I don't know why you expect the engine to directly import 3ds models. Most of them have scripts that will convert to the games format or use more general formats like .obj or .dxf. Dark Basic looks like your engine though, because it actually does and uses basic for scripting. Only costs $50.

I don't know if you've read my Blender plugs before, but it's nice because it has a very simple logic brick programming structure where you have a column for controllers (keyboard commands, Python scripts), sensors (to determine when to activate the controller), and actuators (the things that actually activate the controller). Once you get the hang of it it's simple, I've seen a game called "The Legend of Taro" that was made by a 12-13 year old kid. It's one of those general game engines, that could be used for anything from rpg to fps.

Here are things I (and some others) don't like about Blender though, from lack of bumpmapping to real-time shadows: http://www.elysiun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26057&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Forgot to add, there is a .3DS importer script, not sure how well it works. Blender natively supports DXF and VRML as well as its own .blend format.

To hack you need an open port, Just get a free firewall and your safe from the script kiddies and some of the more advanced ones.

Of course I have a firewall, but sometimes I shut it off for rendering, besides, you can't expect that everyone will have one. I'm not just talking about my personal safety from hackers, I'm referring to everyone.

Sounds like I missed something earlier this year... ::)

Sorry to continue to take the subject off topic...

At the http://www.mega-tokyo.com/forum/ forums each posters IP address is displayed where the "IP Logged" thing is displayed on these forums. Perhaps it is a mod worth installing? I'm not sure if Chris is aware of the MOD or would even be interested in it. After all, Andy Penis wouldn't exist if we had something like this. ;D

later,

Displaying IPs also opens the door for angry kids with hacking progs that will crash your computer.

If you're better with 3d already, with practice you'll probably never be better in 2d than 3d. Unless you use all procedurals though, you'd better be at least a little good at 2d for UV maps.

I'd offer assistance because I like doing 3d stuff too, but I'm in over my head already.

I'm off of work tomorrow because Oklahoma (US) Governer Brad Henry ordered all state and county offices closed in memory of former President Reagan.

A deputy in the Emergency Management office made an official request to also be closed the following Monday in memory of Ray Charles.Ã,  :)

We'll never really know what happened in the Iran-Contra affair.. I suspect Bush Sr. asked Jr. to block the Presidential papers from release (normally released after ?10? years) to save face and prevent legal problems. It was one of the first things GWB did when he went into office.

No way of verifying that anyone actually did it, and ambidextrous people would be unflatteringly benefitted.

Spelling tip: Compete - e + ition = Competition

Break down the roots if you're ever unsure.

In other words, Evil's friend is involved in a scam.

Just connecting those thoughts. :)

Selling webspace through your DSL line isn't a scam, it's smart thinking. It is illegal though, since most contracts ban using the connection for hosting. There's no way for them to figure it out though.

I think it might be a scam, or there is a catch. it sounds too good to be true.

Actually, it sounds like they're doing exactly what Evil's friend is doing.

Gay Marriage is also about to be offered by the Cherokee Nation (Native American Tribe, I live in the capitol). Because of the way the language works and the way the law is written, it is possible for gays and lesbians to marry. A license was issued a couple of weeks ago.

Native American tribes are seperate entities from the US government and are allowed to do many things illegal by US law, such as their casinos and cockfights (and now gay marriage).

Quote from: SSH on Tue 08/06/2004 21:54:26But if you can't poke fun at the things you despise, what can you poke fun at?

Friends, odd social habits, racial differences, standard comedy routines.

I can't really laugh about Hitler, it's hard for me to disregard the millions who died. It's odd that it isn't so with the WTC disaster though.. maybe because I feel like it's partly my tragedy too. WWII is in the past and didn't affect me, but the WTC attack did and so I feel I have a right to comment about it as I please. Maybe the Jew you mention felt the same way. BTW if you wonder what I mean when I talk about joking about the WTC attack I mean airport security, jesting about bringing bombs into airports, etc. It's been done a lot.

The advertising wasn't that great, I've never heard of it until this thread and I've been back for months now, nevermind that if this started 3 years ago I was here then. Must have missed the thread or something.
