General Discussion / Re: what... mad

Quote from: Andail on Tue 04/05/2004 22:37:28What makes me mad?
American soldiers abusing and humiliating iraqi p.o.w:s

That makes me mad too, but it's important to understand that it's probably not happening at every prison. Alynn is in the army, and from his posts here I really doubt he'd do such things, and neither would my friends in Iraq. Considering how we treated German POW's in WWII in contrast to non-European ethnic groups now and historically, it is a sad system though. It'd be more effective if we treated the prisoners like our brothers, so they would realize that we were not out to get them, just Saddam.

Anyway, ignorance makes me mad, but only if the person is willfully ignorant. I.E. my roomate (on the subject of Iraqi prisoners being abused) said that they deserved it because of what happened during Saddam's reign to innocent prisoners. I replied that these were mostly people JUST LIKE US except Iraqi, not willing war criminals, and he said, "It doesn't matter! They're Iraqis!" It makes me sad. He's also voting for Bush. I kind of want to let the air out of his tires on election day.

CJ, I keep trying to change my avatar, but it doesn't seem to change. On the profile page I'll click "Save changes" and it brings the same page up but without the avatar URL bit this time.

Why won't it let me change avatar?Ã,  :-\

You aren't forgetting to type in your password are you?

That remind's me of Ren and Stimpy... "Don't whizz on the electric fence!"

You know, when I was a kid we tried that just because everyone told us not to, so we could find out what happened. Boy did I regret doing that. Not the first time though, the first time we did it the fence wasn't on.

oooh! SHABZ!!! TELL ME WHAT IT'S LIKE!

Peter, if we ever meet there's to be a "personal zone" (radius 5ft) around me that you shall not breech, ok?

Well, that is some of the most sensitive skin in your body.. I'll try to describe this as un-graphically as possible. Imagine a smooth glass rod (slightly too large) being jammed up in there instantly. It also tingles like electricity does on any other part of your body, but somehow feels like it's being enlarged at the same time (it actually contracts, as all muscles do when electricity passes through). It was only 12 volts, which wouldn't even break the skin if you just touched it. Licking a fresh 9V battery will give a similar experience. Not the worst pain in the world, but certainly not something you want to relive over and over. Because  your body naturally jerks away when you get shocked, I wasn't able to hold it on there for more than a second (fortunately).

I grew up on a ranch and our yard fence bordered a cow pasture, so there was an electric fence along it to keep cows from rubbing on it (they scratch on anything to keep the flies away).

When you're looking for something that specialized it's always best to seek a specialized forum.. maybe you'll luck out and someone will know though.

Do a google search. I don't think it takes a genius to come up with electrical safety ideas.. keep your fingers out of the sockets, no hairdryer in the bathtub, etc.

Wanderlady and Highwaygal aren't ambiguous, they have "lady" and "gal" in the names! But hey, their choice.

I'm aware. I was pointing out that you pointed out something which I had already pointed out.

I'm in high school, remember.. Kids talk about that kindof crap all teh time.

Plus.. that rule only applys to a man's car, anyways.. A girl can have whatever color she wants I spose.

In that case, wouldn't anything girly be a "universal sign for a gay?" I mean, you won't see most straight guys driving around with a flower vase in their windshield or a pink license plate border either.

Here's a quick tip.  Next time you hear about some get-rich-quick off the people sceme, tell Mr. spammer to return the money to the bloody people.

You obviously didn't read much of it, he gave the money to charity. I don't care how impoverished the country is, scamming other idiots isn't a justifiable way to get money.

If you feel bad about it, send them $2k next time you get one of those emails Britney Spears.

A kid with six fingers would be a killer guitarist, and I wouldn't take any complaining about having "one less finger than there are strings!"

I have seen purple license plate borders before.. And if you don't know what that means, it's sort of a universal signal of a gay person.. Sorta like the quilts and the udnerground railroad..

Or a girl? I don't buy that.

This is brilliant, hilarious, and something I plan to do in the future.

E-mail scammer gets scammed and tricked into taking photos holding a sign saying, "I take it up the arse."

EDIT:
Holy crap, there's a whole gallery full of these people!
