Well, I haven't seen democracy or socialism ANYwhere really working.
Take a country. At the start, it doesn't matter on what system people build it up, be it cooperative socialsim or oppressing capitalism. If the country advances and strengthens enough to make difference on Earth, someone has to control it. Someone almost alone.

At the top of the pyramid, there's a man with others balls in his fist. Who cares who elected him? Who cares how the system is called? At the moment he reaches the throne, others either sing along or hide.
There's way too much references from history to prove this. Ask your grandparents, last time someone misused his power turned soil of Europe into a mass grave. Yes, Hitler. And his two co-killers, Truman (used atom bomb against human) and Stalin (competed Hitler in creating graves).

As I write, George W. Bush walks around with a black suitcase in his hands, capable of ending my life really fast and ensuring that there won't be even the country I'm residing in. For next thousand years.

Americans whine and hate their own leader. So does rest of the world. Ain't you democratic country? Why is he still in power if you don't like him and his doings? Do dropping polls and ratings save any of lives in Middle East? Nah. People are powerless.

And there's more of those men. Another one sits few thousands kilometres east and thinks how to remove country with history very similar of mine.

Whatever the system is, things stay same. There can only be more anarchy or less. But casual people never have power over their life.

"Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything."
--Josef Stalin

But talking about human absolutes - war is and will be one kind of basic human behaviour. This is what we are.

Killing is a necessity and natural.

As stupid as this sounds I've been trying to come up with my own political theory for a while (just incase my idiot Serbia allows US to build bases on mainland soil and Im forced to overthrow them :| lol ). The one that I keep coming up with, I will show here. It dosent really have a name so name it what you want.

It is based around an absolutely and constantly artificial adaptation to the worldly factors for self-benefit. If one country becomes a world power and the other falters you immediately switch to that country as your "big brother" but without actually having "loyalty" or "ally" based allegience. If communism is the best thing for your economy at the time, switch to it. If capitalism is, you switch to it. The key here being that you never retain 'attachment' to any of the systems. You never actually try to advance or improve the system of the government (US spreading capitalism, USSR spreading Communism) but rather you USE the systems to advance and improve, in an adaptation-like way, the state itself.

The people ARE the state but the state is higher than the people, if that makes sense. You work to advance the state. I found out that this is similar to one of the Facism axioms so Im really wondering if this is a smart idea or not :/ .

The state must be multi-ethnic, period. No one-ethnicity countries with this political theory. The country must be a unification of multiple ethnicities, with the loyalty being to the country and not the ethnicities. The reason for this being to destroy the poision of ethnic-based nationalism, and to create a climate of social understanding and openess to different cultures.

The country is lead by TWO bodies of government. The military and the more common "political government". The political government is responsible for the economic, social, foreign relations and actual functionallity of the state. However they do not dictate the existance of the state. They do not control the military directly, and they 'are not the state'. If this body of government is destroyed in war the country is not defeated. As long as the military body exists the state is legitimately in existance regardless of invaders inhabiting the land.
What inspired the previous thought was looking at WW1 Serbia. The state itself was defeated and it became German-Austrian. However the army still survived REGARDLESS of economy of Serbia and inexistance of the political-side of the state (and for a while the army wasnt even on Serbian soil, it fought for its own country from foreign territory). The key here being that the army functioned withOUT economic backup of the political state. That country survived WW1 because the army survived. The existance of a state is dictated by the status of the army not by borders or political governance.

Sorry if you read all this and felt you wasted your time. This idea probably sucks to most of you :p. Just felt like getting it out of my brain and seeing how bad people think it is.

Communism only works when people are not greedy or lazy. Capitalism only works when people are greedy and lazy. Which do you think people are?

Also, arguing that capitalism only functions when there is a war is hardly evidence based, as since the invention of the wheel there hasn't been a significant period of time when there hasn't been a war going on somewhere.

Give me a single year since WW2 where there wasnt a single active US soldier in any foreign nation in the world.

Also, I dont see why famous people should get so much fuss in comparison to anyone else, sure he died and that really sucked, but if he was anyone else, you wouldnt care.

It probably has to do with the fact that he donated millions to saving animals and preserving wild life when many others wouldnt. It also probably has to do with the fact that he was a millionaire and he chose to choke crocodiles (and get them to the proper environment) to get them out of neighborhoods, rather than shoot them. And he chose to actually WORK and educate rather than roll over in his money for the rest of his life. If you ever get a million dollars and even give 1 dollar of it to charity, which I doubt, Ill make sure to give you the attention a famous person gets when he dies, jackass.

From some memory, was basketball derived from some ancient Greek sport?

Everything comes from ancient greeks ;D ;D

Even the word "kimono"?  :p

Greek sports have been getting very interesting last few years. I saw them win Euro Cup a few years back against Portugal so I hope to see them win again in basketball. Keep it up Greeks.

Teachers hold their own opinions and I think they'd prefer you to respect that than to agree with it. If they have an opinion or beleif, it can help you form your own - and that in effect is teaching, and is what the "system" wants you to do.

you are a wise man m0ds. BTW Lacey says "hi"

but I'd make sure that Democracy was served to the best of my ability

What the hell is that even supposed to mean man? Democracy is simply the system of electing government leaders/representatives. You'd make sure that everyone votes or something? Too many people have different definitions of democracy.

Heres some more awesome words of wisdom from the Bible. If there are slight spelling mistakes please forgive me, because I don't care.

"Behold I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces." Malachi 2:3

"For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death!" Leviticus 20:9

"Hath he not sent me to the men that sit upon the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?" 2 Kings 18:27

"There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emmission was like that of horses." Ezekiel 23:20

"Suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." 1 Timothy 2:12-15

"And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee!" Deuteronomy 28:53

Today at school in World History we watched a video of a man (I forgot his name) who was an anthropologist. He was the man that found "Lucy" in Ethiopia and it was basically the documentary of the whole search and find. Amazingly our teacher was able to stop the tape 5 minutes early and asked the question "What was wrong with that video". I was just thinking "Oh shit here it comes, darwin this, darwin that."

At one point in the video a piece of hip bone was found that was oddly shaped. So this anthropologist took it to a forensic expert friend of his and his friend concluded that the hip bone was two seperate pieces of the same hip bone that had been "spliced" together from the pressure of sediment (over 3 million years). So he used his professional knowledge to RE-allign it and make a mold (meaning he made a mold of what it WOULD look like if it was the whole piece based off of the size/shape/lines/etc). Of course this was an immediate target for our teacher, because the man was "guessing and improvising" what the "missing link's" hip would look like (She dosen't believe we are derived from primates, i guess dogs and birds, and birds and reptiles arent related either. So she showed us this video simply so she could disprove everything to us afterwards).

She then proceeded to explain to us why we couldn't be possibly related to apes. She talked about bone structure and some stupid stuff that didnt really prove anything (because to her it would be IMPOSSIBLE that a chimp could go from having a "swivel" hip and having "unlockable knee joints" to walking upright and having "lockable knee joints" over 3,000,000 years). I saw I had no chance at even beginning an argument due to the fact that everyone else was Christian in the room. She told us several times that she believed there was no missing link and she gave us reasons each time that the others bit into immediately.

Thank God my teacher has 2 years of forensics (from which she dropped out) and was an avid CSI fan or I would have strayed from Jesus's Gospel and wrongly believed we were ever anything except humans.

Yesterday, we were reading a history book and we came across the term "B.C.E." (Before Common Era replacement for Before Christ). She proceeded to spend the whole day dropping "again, B.C.E. is the politically correct term" when she came across the term. She put a satirical accent on the sentence as if trying to convince us of its stupidity. I was completely pissed off. But I knew I couldn't say anything in a classroom full of "them".

I dont know why I come to AGS to vent but I feel like this is a place where I am not surrounded by people that refuse to listen to any explanation but the Bible. It's really weird because "I" feel like the minority when it comes to what I believe. Recently the teaching of the THEORY of evolution was banned from our school (which is illegal due to Supreme Court precendents on similar cases) because the Baptist Church was getting complaints from children. It just feels so stupid to have to even deal with this stuff, its an unexplainable feeling of drowning in other's ignorance.

Thank you for letting me vent on your forums, CJ. My heart would rupture if I wasnt able to vent on here.

Raggit you did the right thing in my opinion. I have stood by this idea for a long time: Religion is there to control people. Maybe not in an evil or cruel way, but it is there to control others.

In a communist country you would have been shot for being so stupid and useless to society and trying to steal money from your government.

Communism sounds great. Instead of taking care of a problem, you just shoot it.

"no man, no problem"

Go see it. After I saw Pirates of the Carribean, I though I would never see a movie that would be so fun and entertaining in theaters again. I was proven wrong. I cant explain how cool and simple Snakes on a Plane is. You will also clap when Samuel L. Jackson delivers his bad ass one-liner.
