Why thank you for the encouraging feedback. I get sort of nervous that I won't please your high expectations, but I guess that is the way of things. Well, I will just keep working then and keep you updated on what happens.

How about the music? will it be resident evilly or nice?

Imagine Satie meeting Yamaoka (composer of Silent Hill soundtracks). There are some sample music available on the game's website.

Hi there.

I just wanted to tell you that the project is still running. I am currently wrapping up the oneironaut subplot (which has a screenshot above "A chance meeting"). I am also finishing the love plot, which includes a suicide theme. The suicide has now been made interactive (you can opt to avoid it up to a certain point), after some serious consideration.

I have decided to make a small series of boxed games as well, which will include a full soundtrack for CD listening as well as some in-depth background for those who are interested.

That's it for today.

I get a "page cannot open" message, but I could be my browser configuration that causes it.

Something is wrong with the link you provided.

General Discussion / 3D Violence Engine

Hi.

I am considering to make a very radical first-person shooter, and wonder which system I should use. It's an contemporary office setting, mostly involving office workers, security, police and military. I'd like an engine with not too much scripting and which I can distribute indepentdently. (A MOD for a commercial product still requires you to buy the product, right?)

Any suggestions?

Completed Game Announcements / Re: The Cube

Cool!

I was considering to make a cube game, but you beat me to it. That's great, since I no longer need to make one. Now I am more leaning towards making something out of the Library in Babel by Borges.

Autumn. Rain. Melancholy.

Write a tune that suits that mood.

EDIT: Because of the forum breakdown, the tune contest has been extended to November 14.

Whoa!

I was hoping for more entries to come, but ... well ... at least I beat Alec (who I think did a good job, perhaps TOO good since he got me inspired). What I am I supposed to do now? Come up with next week's theme?

I just didn't think it would bother anyone, especially since there aren't that many entries yet.

And how can THAT be? :o

Here's my entry. All made of highly modified samples, no generated sounds. Hope you like it!

How do I convince the swiss guy to help me?
#255
Perhaps a silly question, but is it possible to have things animating in the background while running a dialog?

Since the Linux engine is 2.61, I guess that its important to mention that the AGS games should have been created with 2.61 or earlier...

Will it be updated? I really would like to distribute for Linux as well.

[pedantic]
I doubt you mean "motion capture". You'll probably mean taking footage for "rotoscoping", which is the practise of drawing over prerecorded footage.
[/pedantic]

Sorry.Ã,  ;D

That's alright. I am the pedantic type too. But no, there will be no redraws of these photos except for changing the background.

I agree. Someone who has hands on experience (not me) could write a short summary on available platforms and then the tread could be used for peer-to-peer support issues on these matters.

I'll do some research on Machintosh emulation distribution quite soon.

** sigh **

Yet another old thread being dug up ...

Opo - are you still working on this?

Sorry, I didn't know I was digging up an old corpse. But is it really dead or does it just look dead?

I am planning to have some very simple motion capture in the intro sequence of a game I am working on. I'll have a go with my digital camera.
