Well, let me speak out of experience.
I am pretty sure that your children will miss you a lot. And I am the first who would support teaching programs, BUT....
As lovely this idea seems to be, it shouldn't be your main connection to your kids. There are better ways to keep the bonding strong. Why so complicated?

1. Thankfully, there are free video connection programs like skype out there. You could sitting on your table, your kids on the other side and have a family lunch together. Talk and laugh. It don't has to be every day, but it holds a lot possibilities in hand. Of course it wouldn't allow to hug each other.

2. Inform yourself about shipping between the two countries. Do you know the time of care packages? As the name says, it would provide you a chance to take real care of your children. They would get something to actually touch, fell, smell and taste, depending on what you send. A chance to share a part of your life. If you are handy, the better. It could become something really personally.

But honestly, make sure it is nothing that is very valuable in money or getting easy broken. Shipping between Europe and Arabia is a bit tricky. And I know. ;)

3. For example, you could arrange a real meeting one time in the year. This very special time in which everything is possible. Like a kids vacation. The often the better.

There is always a way, you just have to search, find and take it. Good luck in future. :)

:-D I think that's not happening yet, @Frikker.
Well, at least I managed to grant me my little wish of possessing a WACOM. Jey! All in all it was a turbulent past half year and it isn't quite over yet. You guys can squeeze your thumbs for me. I hope the last things will work out, too. Than and only than I am standing on two stable feet in the new country location.

And I can get rid of some new stupid German laws, carried away to far again. (wtf) Really I don't know that's there or where's the problem. Life isn't that hard. (laugh)

Hey Guys. How are ya all? :)
What a funny competition it is. Reminds me of my childhood and riddle kids magazines, tihi.

I suggest changing the angle of perspective for a better view. Well Busra is the perfect location to begin with and than to follow the bread crumbs into the modern world.

Oh please, give me a break!

Don't grap at straws, guys, if you don't really know what's going on in the world of today. And just for the minutes, my better half was shooting gun fire, while sleeping, out of his mouths for two years. Screaming, shouting and crying... so yeah I have a pretty good idea of what surrounded us.

And for the record, a pretty good example on how the world works in today. Don't worry, it's English.

I am at least as serious as you, justnickfoster.
Don't underestimate pixel work and the whole effort to spend. Complexity and quality will ask for persistence during the process of actual game making. Speaking of everyone involved. I don't see the June 2016 really happening, out of my experience.

Let me say, as an artist, one very important thing to you.
Having the plot is a very good thing to begin with and I like your writing. It is well structured. But there is a difference between writing a story and making a game. The graphics and animations will eat most of the time in making. It doesn't matter if they are small, it will be like this. And more importantly, there is a simple reason why artists decide to row back. Mostly out of frustration. It will not happen, if you can paint a clear picture of what is lying ahead at every time. Spoken in general.

Don't miss the message a response can provide. And be aware that we can't see into your mind. Still not being able to imagine your project in pixels yet. Become aware of everything else besides story writing, not only for yourself. Prearrangements are 50% of the work and as far as I can see, you are not finished yet.

So good luck with your attempt, this fish is to big for me.

Like I thought. God heavens that is a huge mountain of work.

Do you guys know what the worst part is? No?
To know what's coming and not beeing able to stop it. Just beeing able to wait for it.

May I ask how many backgrounds you have planned in total?
At first sight, it looks like you head for a simple art style, maybe a 640 x 480 px resolution, low color palette. Am I mistaken or right?
If you wanna attract artists, you should provide details like such. I personally can't make a picture of your visions in pixels yet.

Any every rough sketches at hand somewhere?

Just the tip of the iceberg, folks. The very tiny tip.
I really don't know, if I shall rofl down the holeway or crying out loud, thinking of all beginnings. No surprises on my side. Sadly that the trick still works.

But happy to see ya OUXX.

How heartwarming that is.
I am just worried about all sorts of boundaries. Is it still difficult for AGS to handle many objects of size? The last number, I have somehow in my head, is 30 small at the same time in a single room. Active I guess. ;)

If there stands nothing else into my way of development, I am free to plan and set what ever I want. XD
Your information helped me already a lot Khris. That's great to hear!

Good Morning everyone.
I was looking into AGS in the past, but never developed anything till nowadays. I have a basic understanding of what is going on with the engine or what is possible. So, I decided to give it a go and make a very simple first project. The good news is, I know what I wanna do. :-D My only trouble is to choose the best way to do it. So here we go.

non-adventure learning interface of letters

First of all: understanding the background possibilities properly
Thanks to the editor it is easy to implement backgrounds and even to animate it with a few frames. I wanna make the best out of it and use themes like shells, flowers and so on.

I guess the very basic method would be to open different rooms and give it its theme. Than to put into every single one of them the same guis, which will start the animatins and sounds of teaching. The first room would be the gateway to choose a theme. That is not very elegant.

I rather would like not using the editor for setting up the backgrounds. I rather wanna use as less rooms as possible. Is it possible to tell a room per script language which background sequence it shell open and close by command? Can ASG do it that way, make themes switchable?

Thank you for every reply and help.

Oh hey Dor Hajaj!
I see you got rid of that pixel noise. Back to GIMP?
Yeah post it in original size, your upscaling is changing not only the outlines.

Greetings.
It would have been nice, if you mentioned what kind of text this is. Is it technical, scientific.... etc. I hope it will not offend anyone by language.

German is my mother tongue, so there is a pretty good chance that I would understand every word. Did stuff like such before. (roll)
So long.

Hi sketchess, thank you for noticing.

You are welcome. Kind of have an eye for such details.
But boy 8-0 looking the pictures diffenrent on my 'unprogressive' device. Much more neat.

> Think if Shrike may have other ways to get inside, except for airlock.

>After banging the helmet against the door and wihle having this quick though about another entrance: go immediately into a good stand not to far away, not to close to the door; to be prepared for a possible fight using the helmet in your hand either as shield protecting the weakest parts of you or using it as a 'punch' device

So, who said he is unarmed? Who ever may open the door will have to fight a well trained, at least a prepared captain. I hope it will not be necessary. *fingers cross* Let it be a nice surprise for a change.

*edit grammar :-[

All 3 aspects are possible, we know to little. But fact is, harm was done and who ever is the origin of it. The story is to young to be sure enough that nobody tries to hurt the captain. So be careful or the adventure is sooner over than later.

That's odd. Your pictures are in png format, but on my screen they are blurry. Same thing for the video. May I ask what graphic program you use to draw them? Hmmm.

Wish ya luck anyway.
#39
Ok. Let's see...

>Search your uniform for pockets.
>If it has any, search them as well and see if you got something usefull with ya.
>If it has any, go and grab the piece of paper and put it in.

So never know, if we will need some paper bullets or some sort of distraction. Never underestimate a piece of good old paper.

(wtf) you gotta...

Well now we have it, you guys take me home as trophies.
