Hmm... Pall Mall, Kent or a Parliament? ;D

Hmm...Ã,  it doesn't seem too dark on my LCD monitor so maybe it's a fault of my brightness setting. Anyway, glad you like it. ;)

Hmm... you played it on PC, didn't you? Well... it was originally designed for PS2 and PS2 version is a way better than PC. It has the atmosphere when you play home alone and with all light turned off. And if you are still disappointed, try the first piece, original "Silent Hill" on PSX. Brilliant!

Hmm... an evening time you said? Might and hope it be helpful:

It has the mood, I like it.

As it's still incomplete, I won't critise it. I guess the main problem here is you're drawing without planning. Start from a sketch: http://www.polykarbon.com/tutorials/body/male/stick.htm.

Look it up: http://www.polykarbon.com/tutorials/index.htm

I like the girl, call it a paint-over:

I was thinking about Desert Eagle or a .44 gauge Magnum, but why not give her something more powerful like a double-barreled combat shotgun? ;)

In both cases the proportions are wrong (too short legs). Don't worry, just search the Tutorials thread for some guides -- there must be something.

Edit: Oh, I found one. Might be helpful: http://www.polykarbon.com/tutorials/index.htm

Cheers!

Okay, here's my entry with special cheers to Loominous: ;)

Hour and a half in Adobe CS2; pity I have no tablet, it would be easier to draw. Not an easy theme, hope I didn't broke the rules. ;)

Hah, hah, that's funny!

Wow, you're inspired by Satan! ;)

Just kidding, I especially like those on the last sheet.
Critics? You draw the hands in a weird way as for me. :D

Maybe I've just missed the style, but hope it helps:

Use Neole's quick upload service instead of Geocities, as the latter is very unreliable when it comes to high data transfer levels

Thanks, Andail but Neole's FTP doesn't work correctly, I suppose. Files are probably uploaded, but I can't see them. :-\

Wow! Must say I love your edit, Loominous! It just looks perfect! Good job and once again thanks for the advices, I'll try them. A new, maybe better work soon.

Ok, work is now updated. Please give some C&C. Thanks.

Really amazing artwork. We need artists like you for our games.

Thanks. They're still incomplete, in a sketch form. If I'll finish I probably put them here again.
Pity, that I don't have the time for help or to make a game (you know -- school, exams etc.). Anyway, if you like "art" in that form, maybe I'll be able to send you some (I was speaking of the presentation one post before). PM me if you wanna talk about it.

The first one creeps me out :-[

Anyway, thanks for yer opinion.

UPDATE #1:

Okay, thanks for the crits and suggestions. I ain't able to come up with all of them, due to fact I'm working on paper and with traditional artwork. I sidestepped the proportions purposely -- it's a surrealistic work so I can. ;)

Here's the completed work, finished with crayons and edited in -once again- CS2 (colour edit):

Ink, pencil & crayons + digital edit

ORIGINAL:

Hi, there is a piece of my art I did today. Cute mechanoid chick inspired (more or less) by the works of the well-known H. R. Giger (I don't wanna steal his ideas, but just practice my drawing skills). I have to do a few of that kind for a certain presentation (I'm thinking of graphic studies) and, to put it simple, I don't know whether it's good or not. So, all the graphic artists, what do you think?

Ink and pencil.

Secundo, I don't know how to call this work so I picked the default name: "Surrealistic Graphic No. 1". ;) Any ideas?

Oh, and the bonus picture which I did some time ago. An armour with a helmet and two oxygen tanks, I decided to call it "The Parasite". It was pretty messy and unclean so I edited it in Adobe CS2.

Ink and pencil + digital edit

Thanks for your time,
Xarkh

Thnx;) I'm not quite sure I understood what you meant by out of mood, but the game is not supposed to be a feel-good game, if you know what I mean. It's going to be a kind of creepy myst-ish game where you find your way through a very odd world.

Sorry for that, I didn't check it. :P I meant that due to lack of shadows, there's no specific (horror) atmosphere. Speaking of kitchen picture, the second one is a way better (but looks too sterile as for me).

Anyway, good luck with your game! ;)
#178
Nice renderings (?), Juliuz but didn't you forget about lighting and shadows? ;) I suppose you're going to fill them with some active sprites (objects) but anyway, they just looks empty and are a little out of mood.

YARR!

Two fighting pirates:

The first pirate, call him Jack, is swinging a flail; the second (with a scmitar) is trying to avoid the hit by using a buckler.

Next: a cyborg with shotgun

A style experiment. The palette was inspired by "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow", a movie with nice visuals, though not much else.

That's right. I saw it last week and it looked really offbeat, but the plot bored me as hell. If it's still possible, I'll vote Loominous -- I like the details and atmosphere.
