So maybe I'll give a try too... We'll see.

Okay, thanks! ...and sorry for this whole confusion. ;)

Quote from: Andail on Mon 06/06/2005 10:52:51I have planned to make a comprehensive tutorial on perspective for a long time, and I might come back in some weeks with some first steps. Perspective is a fun area, but darn difficult sometimes!

It would be great to see some comprehensive perspective tutorials for beginners / intermediates. Well, hope you make it someday!

Quote from: Mozesh on Mon 06/06/2005 21:12:25I had to change my name so I wouldn't be confused with Rui "Brisby" Pires :P

So I thought.

Redrum -> Murder. ;)

By the way, what does Mozesh mean? Is it yer name? ;)

General Discussion / Re: X-Com comic strip
Mon 06/06/2005 22:12:26
Anyway, I can't see the comic's site, due to some error...

I've seen them before, but gave up at first look. Why?

Well...
a) I've never been a fan of X-Com,
b) for me (and probably for everyone) the graphic style and texts & language are the prime things in comics,
c) I prefer the paper comics.

So I refrain from critique.

Yes, Traveler 've already said everything that I would say, so I'm only adding... First, the pistol and trousers... look a bit weird (as for me) and definitely need some details. The same for the whole character, try shading him a little / add some details to face and "wrinkles" to the clothes. I like it, but it seems incomplete yet.

Anyway, good luck with it!

Hmm... that's really close to perfect, Taffyfom, but now [hmm...] his helmet looks a little too big and reminds me a Russian fur cap. ;)

Hovever, the face on ProgZmax's edit is bigger and fits this helmet very well.

Wow! It's just awesome! ...and really simple in use.

My attempt here (only one... ;)):

15 minutes of clicking...

Have somebody already tested it in game? I'm thinking about that... Maybe not pure renderings, but it really might be useful as hell!

Yay!

I was just randomly clicking, and I won eventually, with 500 out of 500 points ???

So do I.

Damn, I'm having a headache now...

Nice.

Okay Zor, but it reminds me more of the "Road King" model than "Viking", heh, heh.. :P And I requested more details! REJECTED! :P

Spoiler
Ok, this time I was kidding...

Huh.. let's say, it is... but I'm disappointed, Oliver! ;) '58 Christine: here.

Next: Harley-Davidson motorcycle.. precisely the "Viking" model ;) (and this time it really needs even if a bit more details).

Okay, I've tried to make my own paintover... and the result you can see here:

Things I've changed:

1. the helmet, a bit improved and with a strap under a chin (but damn, this still isn't *it*)
2. thin figure and smooth overall (only the shoulders need some work, I can now see...)
3. small palette edit, a compromise between beige and green, let's say.
4. miscellaneous details - some face, uniform modifications and more... (I deleted those badges by chance)

Anyway, it's quick-made scrap, but hope it'll be useful for you. Great character! ;)

Traveler, Andail...

Okay, sorry for off-topicing.

Prog, she reminds me of Tiffany from "Child's Play IV". Did you ever watch it? ;)

Ya, but she's a bit proportional for tiffany isn't she? :)

So there she is, Tiffany.

Critics' Lounge / Re: Some backgrounds I made
Fri 03/06/2005 22:40:01
Is that cool? Well.. yes, but it all depends on the kind of game are you making. They'll fit really fine an avant-garde, funny or surrealistic theme, but for realistic.. I think they won't be good enough (incorrect perspective and blah, blah, blah...). Anyway, Taffytom already've said that. ;)

Personally I like the second picture (a bridge) the most.

Zor's entry isn't that awesome. I can make a better worm:

O====

There. It's a worm. Really, it is.

Nah... it looks like an "O" followed by 4 "=" signs :D, not any worm. *This* is a worm:

And one more time:

Gotcha?

Thanx veryweird, I didn't have any bigger troubles with understanding it. Certainly this 's the good direction, but it didn't resolve my problem at all... [...]

EDIT: Damn, I suck...
