Heh, heh. You have a pretty good example here, BT. Good luck with your paintover! Hope I'll see it soon.

Okay, I have a small valley near my house (I can see it from a balcony, it's behind a bridge) and some nice forests all around, so I'll probably enter this one. ;)

He's that little dot on earth that the evil power maniac is holdin'

Oh, yeah... now I see. ;) But something is wrong with his left arm... and you forgot about these chains around his neck. :D

Quote from: Raider on Fri 27/05/2005 05:43:09The thing is, I'm not happy with the glow on the desk lamp. But I don't know what to change. Any suggestions?

Largo's paint-over is a good example.

Oh, but where is Mr.T if I can ask you, Redrum? :)

Oh, very nice edit, Largo!

Hmm... I'm vaguely astonished of that armchair behind the desk. Isn't it too big? (arms are situated too higher). Or isn't the desk too small? I'm only nitpicking. ;)

Anyway, it's quite cool, to see you improving that bg...

Huh... I don't know why, but at the first look it reminded me a scene from "Prisoner of Ice". Strange. ;)

Everything looks a bit flat at this picture. As I always say... try adding some lightning (let's say a moon light) from the outside and some shadows inside the office. Something is wrong with perspective as well (look at those buldings behind the window). Blah, blah, blah ;)

Well... I can't type the only one, so here are my 5 favourites: Doom I & II / Quake, Diablo, Darkseed and Loom (both EGA and VGA).

I think your bg might be really good. Very nice details, but... you forgot about shading (and lightning). What does it mean? Everything seems flat. As I said before, just try using more colours and their various hues to add the atmosphere. You know: make the corners darker, draw the shadows behind these plates laying on the ground etc.. Of course, everything in relation to the light sources, I mean these torches. The perspective isn't yet correct...

Uh... It's a good tip just to look on the real world. ;)

Anyway, read the "Tutorial" thread, http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=600.0 and search for perspective and shading examples.

Well... good luck!

Yes, at your picture I can't see any lightning & shading, but there are some torches attached to the wall. Try using more colors. ...and something is wrong with perspective. Check it out!

Oh, Khrismuc was the first. ;)

Ok. Someday I've done a simple remix of two pieces, ripped from "Castlevania II" GameBoy edition and an adventure PC game "Sanitarium" (maybe it's not classic, but...). I'm saying about a game stage select theme ("Castlevania") and a music from the chapter "The Morgue and Cemetery" of "Sanitarium".

It's a very short tune (something about a half of minute) and at last it's just a remix, but as I think - it fits this compo pretty well. Check it out!

Well, you know. The invasion of Polen in 1933 started World War 2.

Ok, but it started in 1939, not in 1933.

Well, sorry... I just don't keen on jokes in that vibe. That's all.

So what your saying is that you want jungle rather than forrest?
I don't understandÃ,  ???

I guess he just wants deciduous trees (which growing in the jungle), not coniferous (characteristic for cooler areas). ;)
