Completed Game Announcements / Re: META

Haha, I love it! Probably really hard to beat if you don't know anything about BHT.

Spoiler
I'm not even sure if I'm any further than everybody else, but if you activate Debug Mode, you can teleport Roger to Room 4.

Also, notice that he "kills" LeChuck with a phallic symbol (A fizzing bottle of root beer being a metaphor for ejaculation).

Still one of the sickest things I read on these forums. Sick but true at the same time, of course I like it a lot.

Also, I would like to play those psychedelic games by Mole but all I could find were pictures of his room.

Sure, but his name is actually Frank. :P

Zor: Well, that thread is yet another example of the glory past of Manny sprites in this forum, but not the one I had in mind. Thanks for the link though!

There aren't enough crap entries in this jam for my taste. In a somewhat similar topic Manny Calavera was brought to 2D, so here's Raz, standing on one finger.

The Wembley Goal.

It's not widely known that World Cup winners like France and Uruguay are cheaters. If you only won in your own country then that's cheating, sorry (and in 1950 the Uruguayan squad probably walked to Brazil.) Of course the English are the biggest cheaters of them all. They didn't only play in their own stadium at the '66 final, they also couldn't win without scoring this ridiculous goal!
We'll be ripping that star off of your jerseys in 2006!  :=

I used two photos: 1 2 and gave ol' Tilkowski some color. Pink for skin, red for shirt and ball, green for grass and net, brown for shading, dirt and keeper clothing.

Let's see...

P.D. by Igor is here: http://aafiles.bicycle-for-slugs.org/test/pd/PD.zip

Robert Redford Deluxe is just a collection of the original three RR parts, get them here: http://aafiles.bicycle-for-slugs.org/full/

The infamous Rich Phych00 games: http://gamma.nic.fi/~juhop/lataa/richphyc00.zip (I think they're complete, richphycho 2 and richphycho2cruisin is probably the same game)

PocketFluff.Yay!: http://lostags.freebox.ru/PF.zip
Earl Bobby: http://lostags.freebox.ru/earl_bobby.rar

I'm sure I have some more of those games, but I couldn't find them. It would help if you could provide the file names rather than only the games' ones.
Anyone who wants to upload something for Sedryn can use that freebox account. (Rui?) Server: ftp.freebox.ru |Username: lostags.freebox.ru |Password: 1234567
No idea if there are file size restrictions/traffic limitations, I don't speak Russian.

I guess Yathzee is reading this thread as well, so I post my thoughts here, can't be bothered to register at dozens of forums.

The only major bug I found that caused the game to crash was when I tried to buy too much missiles at the Bloody Towel, the error message was:

"(Global script line 1214)
Error: NewRoom: two NewRoom/RunDiaolg/StopDialog requests within dialog"

Other than that I only encountered minor design flaws such as the first boss fight. Come on, there was absolutely no need to rescue me, my opponent didn't even shoot at me once. But since that's the story, the boss should really be more resistant against the Tractor Beam to give me some trouble.
The dialog puzzle on the asteroids belt could have also been done better. At first he didn't want to work with me because he thinks I'm from the university, but then I just claim something else and he's happy. How about showing him an item to back my story up?
Mr. Hole's gun shooting sound is missing in the first pistol duel.
I can still see the severed hand in the GUI after the long cutscene.

The rest was great, it had nice mini games and graphics (that Matrix room with all the victims was pretty darn impressive) and most important really good gameplay, although I don't believe I only saw 31% of the game as stated in the end. I'm going to look at that fishing bit tomorrow.

I'm on a slow connection, so at first I thought that old woman is going to be undressed. Phew.

The original sprites are hidden in the ACR Thread by the way.

General Discussion / Re: Gaming Hacks

Hey, Smokin' Weed is covered, too. Looking at the other games it's probably used as the bad example, although there are far worse p3n1s award winners.
But nonetheless, Smokin' Weed! Way to go! Oh well.

Spoiler
Use the wig with Ulysses, then touch the exposed cord. Now you can use the shard with the fried wig.

Then again, it's not like anybody would sue a Finnish underground game developer for using such symbols.

To answer your question, Guy, I don't think it's a good game idea, but there's a recently released book about porn productions in the Third Reich, maybe you get some inspiration from that. That topic would be certainly an easy target for jokes, albeit not very funny ones probably.

A few corrections:

"Let's ask the nominal member over there."

My linty partner and me are looking for a videogame to compensate brutality of our brutal weekdays.

"My linty partner and me are looking for a videogame to compensate our brutal every day lifes."

And how about some adventure games, please?

"Ever heard of point and click? Very well then!"

Don't make us assholes!

The punchline is a reference to a german ad campaign (by Media Markt, hence the first picture) and quite hard to translate. Here's a discussion about it.

I guess it would be something like:

"Don't get ripped off, nana!"

EDIT: You're welcome, jaz. Translating is hard though, had to remove some mistakes from my "corrections"...
