EDIT: ok, nevermind. i just reloaded the room and it does say "chatroom not found". I wonder why me and Babar remained in a nonexistent room then. Stickam works in mysterious ways.

The massive lag lasted for a couple of minutes but then it went back to normal. The only trouble i had with stickam today was the lag and earlier it wouldnt let me into the room, which vanished eventually so i had to make a new one, which worked fine. Other than that there has been no crashing or serious lagging.

In case anyone wants to try, I'm on there right now and i will probably be for the rest of the day so just do a search for "spaceboy". So far it seems functional, although I hate that kiddy sticker album look.

In other news, stickam is remarkably stable today and immune to jinx.

On a side note this whole discussion may become irrelevant in the future when meat is grown in vitro.

I dont think that will end the discussion. There will be people who argue that in vitro meat has a "soul" or that growing meat that way is playing god, or against nature or causes diseases and what not. Someone will always be offended.

I tried chatablanca and here are some impressions:
- seems quite chaotic at first, but i found my way around all the functions pretty quickly
- full of gimmicks. you can buy "coins" for real money and then use those coins to buy accesoires
- the text chat is quite different. the rooms look like this:

the camspots are movable and your messages appear in a speech bubble next to your camspot. new messages are accompanied by a "bloop" sound which can be turned off. and you can display a message history.

- there doesnt seem to be a way to post a link to the room. but when youre logged in you can search for a user and enter the room they are in. or when you have some friends added you can enter their room from your friends list.

anyone wanna try that out later?

Progz, what you said about animals not being sentient: regardless of whether you have empathy for animals or not, I don't think you're in the position to tell what is subjectively going on in the mind of another creature.

Also, laws against animal cruelty were established way before the first disney movie was made.

Yeah, thats another reason i prefer stickam over tokbox. With stickam i just start a room and people join when they feel like it. With tokbox i need to contact another person first and it feels like i'm disturbing them. And I dont wanna start every tokbox room with "i hope i didnt disturb you"...
