The jump at the beginning looks good, but the way he goes into that weird diving pose somewhere in the middle and bounces off the ground bothers me. I think you could benefit from using the flashback sprites as a reference.
I appreciate the work you put into this, but imho the falling and landing parts need work.

Next time I shall put sarcastic posts between these <sarcasm> </sarcasm>.

It's a common misconception that christmas is a christian holiday. It's a mix of various beliefs, trends and trademarks. At home we light a jewish candle stand on christmas.

Modified some of the letters(E, K, X and T). Otherwise it looks fine to me.

Make an experiment: Sin like crazy for 3 years or so and write down the amount of spoiled eggs you get. Then be the worst churchie of a religion of your choice for another 3 years and compare the amount of spoiled eggs you get to that you got before. Of course, you'll have to do that for every religion on this planet because of fairness reasons...

Even if you followed the scientific method strictly, you won't get any useful results. Everybody knows supernatural beings don't like to be tested and they'll do anything to ruin your experiment. Remember those experiments to find out whether prayer works? God knew he was being tested and decided to not do what the testgroup prayed for.

Doesn't matter. Just pick the one you prefer(which obviously seems to be 320x200) and concentrate on more important aspects of the game.

I yawned.

Do you guys remember the teaser for starcraft II with that marine saying "Hell, it's about time!". That would have been a good line for Duke to say in the DNF teaser.

Which time zone would that be? :P

Does it matter?

Dito to all of you. I would really love to see a game promoting critical thinking and all the big people from the skeptical community. I would make a little series myself if I wasn't busy with another game project and life in general. Somebody do it!

What do you guys think? Is it too cliche? Does it catch your interest?

Most importantly, does it catch yours?

The story is very cliche but personally I like it. Note that cliche doesn't mean it's bad. A story doesn't have to be totally new and original to be interesting. If you enjoy the idea yourself then you're going in the right direction. Then it's just a matter of how you present it.

A little suggestion: you could throw in some references to games, books or movies with a similar plot or theme and subtly make fun of them. That would add a nice, selfironic touch. I'd really love to see a game that has a rather dark theme but doesnt take itself too seriously all the time(be careful not to ruin the mood though).

To sum it up: the idea has been done to death, but that doesnt mean you should avoid it. Use cliches to your advantage, and create something new out of something old.

Also, just in case you missed it, I'd like to recommend you the links in this topic:

seen this pic today, feel free to discuss.

The diagram to the left confuses and scares me. The one to the right looks easier to memorize.

Exactly my point.

Actually that was a reference to people who say "if you can't disprove god that means he exists". I was trying to make another point: extraordinary claims CAN be proven, but as long as they are not proven you should assume that they are  false. I can't disprove god but I won't believe in him or even give him a 50/50 chance of existing without having any evidence for him. And if you take an agnostic stance towards god you have to take the same stance towards fairies, santa claus, the easter bunny and your little brothers imaginary friend. And if you don't then it's an indication that it's not the question thats flawed but the idea of "god" has a greater cultural and psychological significance than the idea of "easter bunny". The reluctance to answer that question might result from a fear of coming off as closeminded and arrogant for denying a being thats "bigger than you". There has to be some kind of filter, a point at which you say that something is just ridiculous. Theoretically the idea of god is something thats bigger and wiser than me but i don't feel I'm being arrogant, close minded or even "trying to be god" by saying that god doesnt exist. It's all because of lack of evidence.

It's safe to assume there isn't a planet somewhere in the far reaches of the universe that happens to resemble a giant Puff-Daddy-in-a-skirt statue.  It's also safe to assume that Elvis Presley's soul was not reincarnated as Paris Hilton's pet dog, Tinkerbell.

Prove it.

I'm sure everybody got your point, and I pretty much agree. Everyone who has ever posted in this topic is a total moron, apart from creed who has opened our eyes with this witty anecdote. But as thought provoking this little story might be, it isn't a perfect analogy. I won't go into detail because nobody reads posts that are longer than 5 sentences so why waste time. Why can't you all just admit that atheists are right with a chance of 99,9999%.

Why can't some people just stick to the definition of atheist instead of tacking various disorders to a lack of belief in deities.

As far as fear of death: Of course I fear my own death. That's called self preservation instinct. Comes in handy. Though I must admit, it gets in the way if you're planning to blow yourself up in the name of your imaginary friend.
