Yipeeee!!!!  ;D  ;D  ;D

Oh ok. I thought you were denying its value earlier. Sorry CJ.

Its quite inconsistent and particuarily frustrating if your commonly relying on objects for effects.

Would it be too much to ask for a visual indicator? I almost remember there being one for objects once.

Also if you make room and change its number to a high number, and then make a new room and set it to a much lower number, notice how it doesnt reorder the rooms. ;)

Sure but the Bug should be fixed in the meantime. :=

Relax fellas. ;)  It's just a suggestion and it has already been agreed to. Let Chris handle it from here.
In the meantime Crimson, Monkey's suggestion is a good one. But your suggestion has a logical home inside AGS.

Share the love people :=

Still, it's good to know it was already on CJ's to-do list. It will of course make a nice feature addition to AGS.
It makes sense to try and unify the way this kind of data is handled anyway.

Yeah I actually agree here. This sounds like a sound solution to me in all cases. Like many of you, I assumed DirectX9 acceleration to be more than just DirectDraw5 with hardware scaling.
Coupling the performance benefit with the ability to scale the screen surface up at any desired resolution or aspect for that matter would be totally novel.

Thanks goes out to all you guys for putting your heads together on this one. I hope it turns out to be the solution everybody was looking for.

Big cheers,
Sparky.

QuoteI suppose it would be possible to add this, but is there really any harm in writing any additional files to the save games folder?

Well for one, our game has many chapters, and save files would be shared and distributed on the net. Being able to write to a directory that most users wont touch not only saves us from a huge list of support emails but also allows us to manage the data the way other proffesional game engines do.

Again, this feature really is particuarily important to us.

Sigh. This not good.  :'(

Well my AGS doesnt even show the line anymore. I'm assuming thats a bug.

We're having a great deal of trouble with verbs in the events pane being mis-aligned to the verbs in the script.
For instance, in the events pane of a hotspot, if I choose Close hotspot, in the script it will turn up as function hHotspot1_Mode8()
If I chose Open hotspot from the events pane, in the script it will read, function hHotspot1_PickUp()

My mouse modes are preferablly as follows:
0 = WalkTo
1 = LookAt
2 = PickUp
3 = Use
4 = Unused
5 = Open
6 = TalkTo
7 = Push
8 = Close
9 = Give
10 = Pull

Any ideas for what in hark is going on here? ???

Okay, it seems AGS is limited to writing files to a user's Save Games directory.
While this is fabtastic for save game files, we have resource data that we want to seperate and hide from user save data.

I would certainly appreciate support for some of the common shell directories other game engines are using.
For example: http://savelocations.wikia.com/wiki/Shell_Folders#Personal

Basically put, we don't want our users tangling up our game data with their save data and making use of these stock standard shell paths makes sense to those of us who are wrting custom resource files.

I'm tired of fumbling my way around manual baseline coords. I'd like to be able to set them by clicking on the background. The same goes for WalkToPoints.
I suggest a couple of new buttons be added to the RoomEditor toolset to allow this once again.

Yeah I had a similar bug when toggling a button's Enabled property. I hope it gets fixed.
I coded around it but it was an ugly hack.

I really like the idea of being able to set properties for regions. Yessirree!
I've changed the suggestion as so.

Wow, I certainly can see the power of this now. Thanks both you guys.
I'll target these Footsteps volume with an AudioType then.
