I think there is only one book that you get from the bookshelf in the TV room.Ã,  Have you looked at the actual book, and clicked "look" on the actual picture of the symbol?Ã,  Have you tried clicking the book on the blood hotspot back at the murder scene?Ã,  I think your character will comment that they look similar but you will have to do a more thorough analysis to make sure.Ã,  This should trigger you to be able to scan the book into the computer.

From what I remember since I played this game so long ago. .. In the area with the monk's body there should be a hotspot of a blood smear on the wall near the body or right next the body (sorry, I don't remember exactly).Ã,  This should trigger an up-close view of the blood pattern at which point you should take a picture of it.Ã,  Scan the photo into the computer and compare it with the one in the book to find that they match.Ã, 

Thanks to both of you.  But that IS my problem.  I can enlarge (magnify) the blood picture from camera on the computer but I CANNOT do anything with the Satanic book that I got from my bookcase.  I cannot use it with the computer.  It keeps saying 'I don't see anything that looks that the bloodstain'.

My question is:  IS THAT THE BOOK or IS THERE ANOTHER BOOK.

I thought it could be a bug so I erased and downloaded the game a second time and now I am STILL STUCK with the computer :'(

Where are all the players.

This seems likeÃ,  a very good game and so many members were playing it but yet no one has posted in a long time

Is there someone who could PLEASE help me

I got the book from my bookshelf in living room but I just get the message that there is nothing in the book that looks like the blood from the 'door'.Ã,  I only saw and taken picture of the blood on the 'wall'.

I went back to the room but cannot see any blood on the 'door'.Ã, 

If there is.....could you please tell me how to get it ???Ã,  Ã, 

If it's the blood on the wall, can you tell me how to use the book with my computer ???Ã, 

I've been stuck for a few days but no one seem to be able to help me :(Ã,  Ã,  Ã, .........and it looks like I have to do something with the picture/book before I can go further in the game

This game was very popular and all of a sudden it seems no one is playing it anymore

As i said earlier i finished the game but i am trying to find the "secret puzzle". I have read earlier posts and no one has yet to actually give any hints regarding this, only questions such as mine, so can someone help me and the others PLEASE??? ???Also, someone mentioned a gift for the pirate girl, what is it?

The gift for the pirate girl is involved in the bonus puzzle.Ã,  First, try to find something romantic to give to her.Ã,  You may have already tried to pick this up at the start of the game, but the game wouldn't let you because Pib didn't have a good reason to...now he does.Ã,  I hope that's not too cryptic for everyone.

Well I finally finished this wonderful game.

I've got the quill but cannot find anyway to get Lloyd off the mansion fence?

Talk toÃ,  him (bird) and he"ll help you with the awnings at the stable.

I've tried that, but that doesn't seem to be a talking option.Ã,  Any idea on how to change that?

Well that's how I got him to help me.  He's on the gate, look at him, talk to him about everything.  I'm not sure but you might have to talk to him a few times, until you see 'I need a favour from you' or something like that.

I tried so many different things, that it is hard to remember the order I played.Ã,  But,Ã,  I believe you need to have conversations with the guy at the mansion or the master wizard about the curse before you can do the betting.Ã,  Ã, Have you talked to the guy at the gate about his sunburn and him needing the t-shirt? And then have you gotten the t-shirt from the camp?Ã,  Hang on to the "pinchers' because you will need them again at the camp.

I have already freed the pencil man at the camp.  DO I STILL NEED THE PINCHERS AT THE CAMP

The master wizzard and the pirate BOTH told me their stories about the book falling in the water

I thought that small piece from the bucket could also be useful to Jezzelle but she's not interested.  I tried to use it with the pirate for him to maybe make it smaller but no can do :'(

I also got the water from the fishbowl but I wish I could get into the mansion.

Did you get the bucket off of Seacookies foot?Ã,  SomethingÃ,  fell off the bucket that you can use to plug one of the vents on the stoves at the bakery.Ã,  Work at opening the stove doors and letting rats run into the stove on the right.Ã,  Plug up the vents on two or the stoves with objects in your inventory.Ã,  Then go up on the roof and work with the stove pipes that are there.

I tried so often but never got anything from the bucket, it just changed automatically to 'TALK TO SEACOOKIES'. 

Now I got that part from bucket and got rid of the rats :

I went back to track, gave lucky picture to Seacookies, tried to give coins to ticketman, but he says that I won't find any centaur to race.

I did manage to get the bucket off of Seacookies foot a long time ago, but my arrow never changes color when I pass it on the ground or on Seacookies. :'(

Heh, sorry.Ã,  I'm kind of new to these boards and haven't had a chance to answer any questions before they've been answered by others.Ã,  And I've been kind of busy trying to beat this gameÃ,  .Ã,  But I'll try to answer questions that I see.

As you can see, if you take a look at all the questions on this forum, there are lots that have not been answered, and sometimes 1 hint can help us get much further in the game.

So far I've gotten through the game without any problems (except for the quill thing, but that's kind of a given).Ã,  The one thing that's got me stuck right now, though, is trying to win the centaur race.Ã,  I've gotten the curse lifted any everything, but still haven't figured out who wins the race.

I've heard you need a lucky item, and I'm pretty sure I've found it at the castle, but I have no idea how you can get it/use it to make the centaur lucky.Ã,  If anyone can give me some hints on this, I'd be real cool.Ã,  Thanks.

You seem to have gotten quite far in the game, so maybe you could ANSWER/HELP others by answering some of our 'cry for help'.

Finally I completed the game.... GREAT WORK GUYS!!!

There are some point to adjust and some small bugs but I hope you'll release a final review because this game needs to be 100% perfect since it's a masterpiece =)

To all of you lucky people who have completed the game, could you please tell me:

How to get the small gear to give the girl at the pier
How do you get the milk to give to Centaur
How did you get the small centaur to help you at bakery
How can you get the flag at the track
How did you manage to dive
Do we need the club from the old lady (maybe to get the flag)

I managed to free the pencil man
Got the story about the book in the water
Got the potion

But I still cannot do anything at the bakery :'(
nor at the track :'(
I got to speak to Lorenzo, but cannot get into the house :'(
I gave back the gear and the pinchers to the girl hoping to get the diving gear.
I also thought that I could use the uniform to get into the chute at home but it did not work.

I am going around in circles.

No. I haven't started that yet. That's a drink, right? for tyhe pirate? i probably need to find how to trigger that.

Talk to pirate.  Try to get his potion.  Try to get his bottles.  Look at those before talking to him. Then he will mention the grog.  Ask him how to make it.

I got screwed by the quill thing too... But I can't figure out how to get past it anyway. I can't talk to the highwaywoman while she's distracted by the guard!

Yep!Ã,  That's the key, try toÃ,  setup something before she is distracted.Ã,  She won't be distracted all the time leave and return again and eventually she will alone.

The set up part is right but I did manage to get the quill even when she was still distracted by the armyman.   I did not have to wait for her to be alone.

Hmm... it looks like I need a postcard and you get it pretty early in the game. I have searched high and low. I've already finished the rat puzzle, gotten the quill pen, freed the pencil maker, and dove for the first time. I think I may have missed it somewhere? Because for the life of me I cannot find a postcard.

Nor can I find the "reading material" that I need to use to bait the dragon (err sea monster)

My sincere apologies to anyone who got stuck by the pen trap. All I can say is to avoid it by taking the advice of these previous posts, but other than that, once I have fixed enough bugs I will upload a new version.

P.S. We beta tested this game.

Okay, my responses to a bunch of topics here:

- I haven't been able to reproduce the crashing bug in the Navy Joe puzzle. I will figure it out eventually!

- The dolphin figurine in Pib's bedroom was not put there on purpose. It was the result of a gaggle of mischievous elfs.

- As far as giving out hints, we have decided to recline for the moment. The game will be more enjoyable for you that way (like the old Lucasarts games, when you had to use the hint-line because nobody had Internet connection). You guys seem to be solving the puzzles excellently anyways, so it's not like my hints are needed.

- Also, if I have to make enough bug fixes to upload another version, I'm not going to overwrite the old download file, so it won't ruin the download for those of you using download resumers.

Also, I'm sorry about the game size. There's just no way we could've made a game of that quality without taking up that much space. Use a download resumer (Star Downloader is free and good) or I believe there is a website -- something like CDpost.com -- that will burn a CD for you with file(s) from the internet. First CD is free, last I checked about a year ago.

EDIT: I've tested the Navy Joe game and still I am unable to regenerate the crash. Perhaps it has something to do with your computer, or even worse, AGS. I'll work on it. Not sure if there's any more details you are able to give me besides the error code that comes up.

EDIT2: The game should definitely be still beatable, though. Hey, I've beaten it before!

GREAT GREAT GREAT GAME. 

I am really enjoying it and had no problems with crashing or errors.

I like the fact that there are lots of rooms to work on and lots of puzzles. 

OK I got stuck a few times..........I am still stuck in lots of places but I think that's what makes the game interesting.  If I didn't get stuck I would find the game boring.

So congratulations for the good work and THANK YOU for giving us this great game :
