General Discussion / Beta Testing
Wed 13/09/2006 19:37:21
I am curious as to how one goes about beta testing. I have never beta tested a game and I really, REALLY would like to. Do you just play through the game and look for bugs and spelling mistakes or do you have free reign to go on any screen and look for problems??? I guess I kinda want a guide telling "how to beta test"....lol

Yes making maps was always fun for me while playing the old Sierra games. I would just draw boxes with labels and lines to connect the locations. You don't even need any graph paper.... But using a map to teleport to certain locations is a good thing in games where there is the possibility of dying while trying to change locations..... Like in KQ3.

I have not played the OROW game Heartland.... but being you say that there was not much "game" to play.... I will await the deluxe version.... being I really like the way the game looks. I think the greenish style looks really cool!!!! Keep up the good work...

AGS Games in Production / Re: Puppet:

Looks quite unique and interesting. The one thing I will like you to reconsider is the puzzle content. I usually find in games with a text parser that puzzles are quite important for gameplay.  ;)
Backgrounds look real nice but I'm not too sure what the character is supposed to be?!?!?

Well, I have to say that I have quite disappointed with the lack of new AGS games coming out. I see that there are many, many ones that are in progress but from what I understand, a great deal of those end up dying. I really can't imagine how much work and time really has to go in to creating a decent AGS game. But I would think that there would be some new ones popping up here and there. Anyone else feeling me???  8)
