in my game I need the main character EGO to face a particular cursor when its in use called SHOTGUN, it is the aimer of the characters gun

don't be too hard on him,
because i once released a game (if you could call it that) if you remember "solitude"
i spent 20 minutes just drawing  the pictures and uploading it.

I made it on purpose because face it  peoples reactions are funny.

update- weapon system almost fully coded and a new background is in existence.

Update-
The games progress is rapidly moving along.
Already my weapon system is working and the zombie ai is nearly encoded.

In my game I noticed that when a NPC is told to follow they go to your last screen position before following again, how would I make them adjust their course as I move, since if I then tell them to stop following  they won't stop till they reach my last location.

Thanks if help can be provided.

In my game i'm using a cursor as a weapon, but its a little unrealistic when you can just click an enemy through a wall and kill him,

How would I make this particular cursor work only in say a 100 pixel radius around him.

thanks and yes i do have the timing issue somewhat covered.
Also I didnt think it was a beginners question since i was expecting a lot more elaborate code (since I've never used the random number generator)

I,m making a one room real time rpg action game called SuRvIvAl and I plan to include allied a.i characters that assist you but i want them to say random catch phrases etc during the game, I'm currently in the process of recording 300 or so sound bites but need a script to put in the repeatedly execute system that generates a number between say 1 and 400 then plays the corresponding sound file e.g sound1 or sound2.

update-the house was made using colouring pencils but It is only the tester house to make sure everything works correctly before investing my time in a better house.

Survival is an action/RPG/RTS game using the ags engine and  which will be indirectly related to zombienation the game.
It features hold off sequences and a need system.
Npc allies will also assist you throughout by holding off your fortification

Ok I admit Zombie Nation was a bit of a flop- but over 2 years of work went into conceptualising and learning how to use ags.

Its is about a lone employee of alpha corp being sent into Alpha city to repair  a communications beacon, and realising something has gone wrong.

My game uses voice acting and 800x600 resolution which no one else seems to use.

I nominate my game for Best Non-adventure (since it does feature a bit of gun play at the end).

Best use of sound (since it is one of the only games to use voice)

Best Background art (considering they are ALL 800x600)

Best Music (since they are all pre-recoreded no synthesized music at all)

Best programming (since I made a Windows like interface at one point in the game, which You must traverse to get a certain thing)

Flukeblake- look at the top i have put a picture of where you click.

Lakerz-go up the ladder and up to the helicopter and to the radio tower, inside is a computer which you must use , it will bring you into a windows like interface where you must access the radio, you will be given a floppy which you use on the radio.

N.B the helicopter tells you what you need when your inside it and have opened the electronics box.
