Wow, a really good day for AGS!
And now I know I made the right decision going to the mittens...

This is super cool!
I'm not gonna touch the engine myself since I'm a spoiled c-sharper, so I'm gonna stick with the editor, but really excited to see what will people come up with.

Not as long as you thought. The engine source was made available yesterday at 11:55 AM GMT+1:00)

Boy, I'm more wrong than right these days... though happy to be wrong in this case.  :D

I think someone should rewrite my crappy walkcycle generator in .NET and include it in AGS.
Not promising anything here, but it might help if you'll release the source code (same goes for SteveMcrea's version).

I would find it very usefull to move objects and characters (and even hotspots, walkable areas, regions..) pixelwise with the arrow cursors,
for easier adjustment in the right spot.
I remember craving it myself, and it seems simple enough to do, I'll look into it.

Edit: Done in 3.2.2 for objects, characters and edges. I'm not sure how to approach the rest of the areas since it's using native methods to draw onto the mask, so I didn't touch it.

We're therefore hoping that CJ will decide to open source AGS so that we can join hands and implement further improvements that will benefit everyone.
According to my understanding, you don't have to worry. CJ has already decided to open source the engine, it's just that unlike the editor, the code for the engine is a mess, and he needs to clean it up first (and it's better that way).
As to when it will happen, you're guess is as good as mine, but my guess is that it could take some time.
So yeah, as Calin already pointed out in his endearing way (;)), patience here is needed.

If possible, our company is willing to commit a great deal of 9-to-5 helping out and implementing new features.
That's great news, after I've seen what you're capable of, I'm sure you'll make some great additions.
And welcome to the forums!

I loved this game, some really clever puzzles, and felt really polished, well done!
Maybe it's just me, but I found the health for the pigeon is really unnecessary for this type of game, and didn't really added anything to it...

And a small suggestion:
Spoiler
In the popcorn puzzle, you have to run three times until the chimney top falls, but there was no visual hint for that. It would help if every time the top would be a little more swinging to the side or something like that so we'd see a difference.

I enjoyed this game, I found the story to be interesting still, there were a lot of cool ideas in there (like the news), and loved the mini games as well. Graphics and music were good too.

I agree with dualnames that some of the puzzles were a bit illogical, and indeed not as good as the second one (but better than the first). Also bothered me are pixel hunts (
Spoiler
table edge & bolts, I only found them halfway through the game

) and missing responses for a lot of interactions, which I really don't like.

I second spaceballs, airplane, hotshots and naked gun.
And add:

Top Secret!
Robin Hood: Men in tights
Austin Powers

This has been done both in Orion Burger, and in Warthogs.

While it's a nice idea in theory (and worth trying), in practice I gave up on both these games since it was annoying (though I do appreciate the effort).

(Shamefully I haven't watched that film.)
You should, it's a pretty good movie.

I've only played a few levels so far, but I find it has both action and puzzle-like situations. And it seems that most of those can be solved in different ways, depending on the character you're using and the abilities you've acquired. Just take into account that unlike Lost Vikings (which is one of my favorite games ever btw), you don't play with the three guys together, but instead you keep switching between them as you see fit.
So far I like it alot, and I've found a lot of clever stuff in there.

Could you guys please not check anything else into the 3.2.1 dev branch.
I don't think any of the bugs reported here are serious enough to justify doing another 3.2.1 build and holding back the release, so I'll make the current version official and create a 3.2.2 dev branch to carry on with further changes.
I was assuming (kinda like what Sslaxx said), that the dev branch is the 'latest' version, and you only merge the important fixes into the major release branch.
So basically I agree with Sslaxx.

Yes, you're right, somehow I've missed that...
I can provide another patch that might give more info (throwing the original exception instead of trying to print it in the hope it will reveal something), but let's see first if reinstalling .Net won't solve the issue.

I've developed with XNA in the past.
I love it, and I love C#, and it ran without any problems.
The major problem with XNA, and what eventually made me decide to stop working with it, is that it requires the XNA framework to run (not silverlight afaik). Most people don't have it, and won't install it if you tell them it's missing. I worked really hard back then to make an installer that will install it for you to make it easier for people, but lots of people also don't like installers...

Some more alternatives you have are:
1. Java. It's also very similar to c# (and AGS script). You can use the Lightweight Java Game Library that was also used to make MineCraft. Haven't used it myself, so I can't guarantee anything.
2. ActionScript3 (flash games). I'm currently using FlashPunk library with AS3, and it's all really simple and familiar.
I used this tutorial to get started.

I enjoyed parts of the game, and other parts less so...

Liked:
* The live radio concept was awesome. Also of course, the songs were brilliant. My best part about this game without a doubt.
* The graphics and animations here were stunning as always with your games, and perhaps even more so in this one.
* The setting of the game (saving the bar/radio station) is original and really refreshing for an adventure game.
* Some little touches really helped bringing the world to life. Especially the part of people talking to you with new things to say almost every time you re-enter their screen.
* Interesting choice of characters, like the little girl that plays bass in a rock band, and the lesbian bartender that's in love with Elodie, you don't get to see this in games...

Disliked:
* How should I put this? Too much text to my taste, but it's more than that, since I have played games with lots of text in the past and loved it.
It's that I found most of the text not the most interesting. To me, I found Elodie itself to be one dimensional, it seemed that her sole characteristic was her love to indie music and that's all she talked about (that wasn't related to the actual story), and she talked and talked some more, and I grew tired of it, it was overwhelming.
And if that wasn't enough, most of the other characters also were only interested in music and that's all they talked about (and I'm a hobbyist musician myself, but it was just too much).
I ended up skipping some of the dialogues, and that's probably the reason that I missed the hint about the drinking puzzle and had to resort to the walkthrough.
* There was a second time that I had to resort to a walkthrough, but it wasn't because I was stuck. Here's what happened:
Spoiler

I saved and exited the game after the part where the band told me they needed the string and tambourine. I opened the game again a few days later, and didn't remember what they needed. I tried to talk to them but they didn't repeat it, so there was no way for me to know what my goal is now, so I had to read the walkthrough just to know that.

This one can easily be fixed.

Ok, I'm stuck, and I'm way behind all the questions in here.  :'(
Spoiler

I can't unscrew the bolts in the table with the coin, because the guy keeps coming to me.
I can't pry open the food dispenser with the utensil covered with rubber because it's too thick.
I can't use the documents on the broken light because the hole is not big enough.
I can't reach the camera, broken light or the vent.
I have:
cup with wetware, water and food.
food.
utensil covered in rubber.
documents.
coin.
'help' on wetware file.

What am I missing here???

Tried the new version, it looks good and worked very well.

I'm missing outlines on the borders of the window when it's not maximized.

I'm also missing a minimize button. I thought that the cloud on the top left is maybe the minimize button, so I double clicked it and the application closed.
And that's when I had two downloads going on in the background, and when I re-opened Nimbus they were gone.
If remembering the downloads is not a possibility, then maybe consider adding an "Are you sure?" dialog if you try to close when you have downloads. And if the cloud is really supposed to close the application, then I would add a tool tip that says that.

Also, if you change the size of GUI elements using the mouse, the width/height values don't update in the properties editor, only after deselcting and re-selecting the control. Works fine with left/top though. (this one didn't work in 3.1.2 SP1, too)
This was a simple fix to make, so I checked in a fix to the dev branch.
