Welcome back. I look forward to what you come up with!

Draw from life. A lot. Both for people and landscapes.

Carry a sketchbook and draw things you see around you.

General Discussion / Re: Voting time!

Just back from voting, I went for "maybe."

I'm in Glasgow, so we had the Scottish parliament thing to vote for as well. HOW EXCITING! The ballot was roughly 15ft long.

I really hope it wasn't plain text, but they did say this:

QuoteAlthough we are still investigating the details of this incident, we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state/province, zip or postal code), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity passwords and login, and handle/PSN online ID.

So there's that.

Luckily I have no money in my account, so I have nothing to be stolen! PHEW.

I'd recommend getting t-shirts made by a local printing press, setting up a web store and selling them directly yourself.

I completely agree, in a perfect world this is what I would do. But I cannot afford the basic stock for this. This is my predicament.

I wouldn't expect people to stumble across it by any means, any potential customers would be through my webcomic and other work.

Hey fellas,

My webcomic has been getting some pretty okay traffic recently, sort of, ish, so I am looking at the only thing any rational human being could do: sell out.

I have a store on there currently, but as I am poor my merchandise options are limited - I can't afford to get the initial stock made for items I would like.

As such I have been looking at 'print-on'demand' services - mostly CafePress - to see if I could get some t-shirts printed up. I have a few designs ready to do, and would really like to get them out there.

I have sold a couple of designs to a t-shirt retailer online, but lose the rights to the design, etc, so thought it would be better to do it all myself. My question is: how do people feel about these types of services (specifically Cafepress)? Do we like the quality of the products? Have these stores worked out for people? Would you buy from a store like this, or would you be put off by it being a print on demand shop? WILL YOU BUY MY THINGS?

Any help is appreciated, AGS community.

Transmorphers came out before Titanic II.

I meant on the night I was watching, they showed Titanic II, then Transmorphers: Fall of Man. An appropriate combination, of course.

I caught Titanic II on Sci-fi (I refuse to call it SyFy) a few months ago. it was most excellent. It's one of those films where the characters make the most unbelievable and stupid choices, all to further a nonsensical plot.

Example 1: character A and character B are trying to escape the rapidly rising water (SPOILER: the ship sinks.) They notice a supply closet of some kind. Instead of looking for alternate routes, they enter the closet to escape the water.

Example 2: In said closet, they find a wetsuit and breathing apparatus. Noble and self-sacrificing character A gives character B the wetsuit, saying "no point in me having it, I'll drown before the cold kills me." A few minutes later, they discuss the breathing apparatus. Character A: "No point in me having it, I'll die of the cold before I drown."

It's as if the writer had forgotten the story he's written 15 minutes ago.

Titanic II was followed by "Transmorphers: Fall of Man," which was similarly excellent.

I can see why people would get sick of these movies, and I fall right into their trap by watching them, but as long as I only catch a couple every year or so, I can deal with them. They're entertaining to watch with friends.

I'm interested in seeing it, if only to see if Snyder can do something original.

300 and Watchmen are all fine and good, but they are more or less direct adaptations of the comics, with little flare. That's not to say they're bad (I like them!) but they involve little creativity on his part.

Of course, I haven't seen Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, but that's because I took an oath at the age of 3 never to see a film with that dumb a title.

Out of curiosity, is this the first attempted scam using AGS?

There was a virus of some sort created with AGS that slowly deleted hard drives, they had the nerve to charge for it as well. I think it was called "Gemini Rue" or something.

I already have a Halloween costume planned for this year, it is game-related and it will be AWESOME.

Past few Halloweens haven't been too bad actually:

Last year my girlfriend and I went as the band Sparks (myself as the keyboard player, her as the singer.)
Year before we were Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers (BEFORE the film came out, yes, we ARE the coolest.)
Year before thaaaaaaat I was Rorschach from Watchmen (again, before the film came out.)
And the year before that me and Jake had a competition to see who could do the best Two-face (again, before Dark Knight came out, but I'm pretty sure everyone knew who I was anyway.)

Yes, you're right. I am awesome.

The soundtrack's still available if you know where to look.

I dunno, maybe someone could do a sequel. "Beat the shit out of shirt" - I'd bet it'd be fucking hilarious.

33 years old and getting offended by an adventure game. you need to go outside mate.

Where is the part where he gets offended? It's a game suggestion!

Regarding the HD release on PC...can't you just up the resolution and settings to maximum...?

No, they created new high-resolution textures for this HD version, as well as less compression on the music, and even some tweaks to the gameplay. It's not really a remake, but more like an upgrade patch. (Though of course it's only available as a stand-alone game purchase.)

That would make sense. Now that I think about it, I think I read about a remastered soundtrack somewhere. The score was definitely something I noticed throughout regardless.

THAT SAID, the original is £5 on Steam, for anyone interested.

I like that the market allows for publishers to test the water with IPs, such as with Marvel vs Capcom 2 being rereleased onto consoles months before they announced MvC3. Really hope Ubisoft make the right decision with this one.

Just completed this on 360 yesterday! Having never played it before, I didn't really know what to expect, but it was most excellent. I didn't really enjoy the stealth sections, but the charm and character of the whole thing really appealed to me.

I have a sneaky suspicion that this re-release it to guage reaction so they can choose to push the sequel, so hopefully it is successful, I'd love to see more!

Completed Game Announcements / Re: Gemini Rue

Gamesradar have a Gemini Rue review up!

(here.)

I don't know how many 'mainstream' reviews it is getting in general, but I was pleasantly surprised to see this one! Congrats!

If I struggle with the main game then I think about what to put in the DLC.
