I love LBP2! I've only been playing since Friday...more or less non-stop. Completed the story, and am amazed by the community offerings so far. Do you play Zootles?

More details please. How can't you 'select areas right?' Is your hand wonky? Does it select different areas from what you try? Which selection tool are you using?

My initial instinct is to turn anti-aliasing on/off. Apart from that, I can't help you without more information.

This is just a bullshit ripoff remake of "Hippo Adventure." Plagiarism.

A definite TV Classic, though its not been on the air a few years now, The Wire.
I just got the boxset for xmas, looking forward to spending a large chunk of the next few weeks watching it.

SNAP!

I've already seen the whole thing, but my ladyfriend got me it for Christmas, and golly gosh do I look forward to seeing it again.

I finished Season One of Boardwalk Empire today, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very glad it's been picked up for another season. It's not as good as Mad Men or Treme yet, but it has potential.

I agree with 2 of the 3 you mention Darth (not watched BSG yet), but I was trying to stick to things from this year.

If I were going to mention things from the last decade or so, my list would be much much much longer. I heart TV at the moment.

Depends on what you're making really.

Audacity is pretty great if you're recording, no MIDI capabilities (as far as I'm aware) though.

Hey everyone,
Check out this universe I'm creating!
Features:
* ever expanding
* single axis of time
* grand unifying theory
* seemingly fractal features
* everything is made out of little interacting wavelets
* billions of biospheres on which life evolves, argues, and dies
I've been at it for nearly a week now. To be honest I'm a bit bored of working on it. If anyone wants to take over, I've enclosed the source. I think I spotted a bug where the fabric of space time wrapped around on itself.
Enjoy!

I give it 3 days in GiP before Darth closes it.

, Mad Men,

I am surprised you didn't mention this 73 more times (not that it doesn't deserve it.)

Also I forgot to mention Lost, which ended this year, and will always remain one of my favourite things.

In addition to these (I'm a big fan of Mad Men and Always Sunny especially) I would add:

Boardwalk Empire
Treme
The Walking Dead
Luther

There's been some great stuff in recent years!

I still check every week, half heartedly, to see if there are any updates, and have done since April (their last update.) I was so excited when I saw this come up! Excited enough to go wake up my girlfriend in a child-on-Christmas-morning-esque flurry, at any rate. That was not wise of me. But oh well.

I really hope this means more toons in the future, I was getting worried about the makers there...!

(FYI: I loved SBCG4AP also.)

Not to spoil too much but apart from the first episode, the show is vastly different form the comic. There are some similarities, but it uses the comic as a jumping off point rather than a Bible.

The CDC is most definitely not in the comic, I was surprised to see it show up!

I rotoscoped a thing once:

ADMITTEDLY I was tracing over 3D renders, which kind of defeats the purpose for anything other than a visual choice, but it was fun nonetheless.

Both MI special editions are on there.

Season 3 of the Telltale Sam and Max is on there also, but the controls for that are not "traditional" point 'n' click - even on PC it's clear they have been aimed towards a console audience.

I also think Tales of Monkey Island may be on there, but I, shamefully, have still not played them. So...no comment?

Of course, I have no idea about sales, which is what you asked. Rendering this post null and pointless?

For what it's worth, I reckon smaller games can find their audience more easily these days because of services like Steam, PSN and XBLA. Whether that includes adventure games, I cannot say for sure.

General Discussion / Re: XBOX360 or PS3?
Tue 26/10/2010 14:01:12
XBLA has indie games, but most of them are guff. It's too difficult to wade through to get to anything decent. PSN has a range of "minis", which are a similar thing as I understand, but I have no experience with them.

Both systems have a similar range of online titles (360 has Arcade, PS3 has PSN) providing a load of affordable, decent smaller games. There are slightly more for 360 I'd say, but PS3 has a range of original PSOne titles and the like.

In terms of retail releases, it's much of a muchness. 360 used to have the advantage, but PS3 has really caught up in the last year or two I'd say. The only way to decide based on this is to look at what exclusives each has, and which of those look better. I personally prefer the PS3 exclusives, such as Heavy Rain or LittleBigPlanet, but I know many who prefer things like Halo or Gears.

PS3 has blu-ray, which is either a big deal or it isn't. No modern PS3s play PS2 games currently, although they all play PS1 games.

Personally I'd lean towards PS3, but both are good.

Haha, these are fantastic. I never thought I could love LittleBigPlanet any more than I already do, but look at that!

Thanks for sharing.
