The more I look at it, the more I get, and the stupider I feel for not getting them before, so much so that I won't bother actually making a list of them just to pretend I am smart.

Hehe, all are correct so far. I'm surprised you didn't spot the other obvious ones though!

By "the other obvious ones" do you mean

Spoiler
Revolver by The Beatles
The Velvet Underground and Nico by The Jackson 5. No wait.
and Odelay by Beck?
[close]

as those were the first three to jump out at me in paticular.

I also feel I should know "Fun House" but all I can picture is Pat Sharp and go-karts.

I totally see it and can enhance it using the newest fanciest spangliest photo technology, developed by the Ghostbusters:

I think if you express interest in scientology then your opinion on the matter is unlikely to be changed either way. If you research it expecting some kind of Godsend (not literally I suppose) or new ay of life, you'll find it. If you believe it to be a load of p'tosh, I guess you are unikely to be swayed much.

In fact, to go into a church of Scientology and not have a pre-existing opinion one way or the other would require some kind of objectivity held only robots.

I wonder what those robots would look like?

You don't get Scottish chavs. They're called neds.

Trust me, I live here.

(But on that note...yeah, about 97% of Scottish people are neds.)

I liked the IT Crowd, but Becky's right: there was too much hype, considering that it was written by co-writer of Father Ted and Black Books, both award winning comedies.

It's quite quirky and had some really good moments, but on the whole was too amateurish to be a classic. Some of the more surreal stuff is nice.

I enjoyed this film a lot. Spider-man was the only superhero I was ever heavily into - I collected the comics for a few years - and obviously can still remember a lot of the mythology.

There were some moments that were a little TOO convenient in the plot, but I allowed a suspension of disbelief for entertainment purposes. Some bits are very funny (JK Simmons and Bruce Campbell both give great scene stealing performances) and I was pleasantly surprised that Topher Grace made a good Venom. My only disappointment in this respect is that Venom wasn't IN it enough.

Best of the three, in my opinion.

And Stan Lee even gets a line!

As far as I know, Extras hasn't been cancelled. The second series has finished, whether they do a third or not is up to Gervais and Merchant I suppose - I doubt the BBC will stop them making any more if they want to.

I think it's safe to say that wee Alice has had a strong and definite impact on popular culture, why as soon as I saw the title of this thread I thought "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane, a certain episode of "Lost" and The Matrix (another reference to following the white rabbit I believe)

I'm sure if I sat here and thought about it I could find 1837 more, but whether there is a correlation between the references made to Alice In Wonderland and it's role in social subcultures is another issue I suppose.

So in conclusion, this post has been of little to no use whatsoever I guess?

I loved The Office, but I think I might actually prefer Extras. My girlfriend hates The Office and likes Extras also. Different Strokes for different folks.

Although "Different Strokes" isn't British.

Also: Black Books and Father Ted are two of the greatest things ever. Making fun of the Irish is always fun! :D

Oh sweet betsy.

I have a myspace AND a bebo. Does that make me some kind of emo-chav?

Bugger!

*disclaimer - I have them to keep in touch with some old friends for the most part. And because I have a long black fringe and like wearing tracksuits EVEN WHEN I AM NOT PARTICIPATING IN SPORTS.*

The Fog - Worst hours of my life right there.

I don't think The Fog is that bad. Not brilliant, but entertaining enough. And not necessarily in a "so bad it's good" way.

Which Fog are you talking about?  The old one, or the newer one?

Good point sir. I was referring to the old one - I never saw the newer one. But hey, maybe I'm wrong, it has been a while since I saw it.

Talladega Nights - The Ballad of Ricky Bobby - Funny, but dumb.

Snakes on a Plane - ITS MOTHAFUCKIN TERRIBLE MOTHAFUCKA! (sorry for swearing, it was the icing on the cake! :))

Doom - I picked up a lousy movie. (get it???)

And Snakes On A Plane is great. It's not badly made, it's tongue in cheek. There's a difference.

I picked it up for £2.99 in a Gamestation store on my high street a month or two ago ^_^/

Played it through, 'tis still awesome.

I am currently replaying Grim Fandango, and loving it, it's been too long sicne I let Manny into my life.

While clicking around on the net and generally researching it for my own amusement, I came across this:

http://www.grimfandango.net/?page=soundtrack

I did not know this was available and thought some people here might like it, having heard the soundtrack praised quite a bit. Sorry if this is old news to you, but I was happy to find it!

I tried it a couple of years ago, thought it was...sufficient, but figured "Why bother when I can just use plain ol' text?" and uninstalled it.

Two years later and they are still e-mailing me spam >_<

Not really. Josh Homme was in both for their full runs and Nick Oliveri was in Kyuss for a bit and with QOTSA for two albums. But apart from that it's a completely different lineup - Homme never even sang in Kyuss!
