DGMacphee, I give your criticism of LGM's comments a C- as it does not have enough 80s pop culture-type references. Maybe you should work on your critiquing a bit more at home?

I'm just about to give your show a shot, wolf. Huzzay!

This is quite impressive - people have found a way to generate 3D models from 2D images. It's not perfect, but it's certainly a start and it'll be interesting to see this sort of thing develop...putting ZILLIONS of 3D modellers out of work of course:

I quite enjoyed the Futurama game. The writing helped a lot but as a straight action-platformer thing it wasn't too bad.

This thread is upsetting, and frankly there is only one way to cheer it up:

LASERS!

Can we have a laser show at your party, Sylph?

Start --> Control Panel --> System

You might want to check if it says "Service Pack 2" in the top blurb also, as many people have had many problems with this installed.

I have SP2 and have never had any problems with AGS games however.

Yeah, it was a PSone game called "A Time To Kill". There was another third person one called "Land Of The Babes" I think, but I never played it.

Time to Kill was pretty fun though, and I don't play many third person adventures (well, of that style, you know what I mean).

I played the original two platformers a lot as a child, they were great. My dad showed my 3D when it came out also, and I loved it, having only been used to Doom and wanting more by that time.

Everyone's given up hope on Forever though, right?

Nikkles...calm down.

I assume he thought it was manga because of the (mangaish) picture Erpy always puts at the bottom of his posts. Someone might mistake it for a screenshot. Just to be clear: It's not!

I haven't played the demo yet, but I will soooooonish, and then decide whether I want the full thing or not!

Aztecs or Mayans, but definetelly not Incas, who lived in Peru. Inca was just the name of the King, anyway, it would be like calling the British, the "Queens". :)

Are you saying all Brits are queens? :O

A waste of time? In what way? It's a game, like any other. It has a start, puzzles, and then an end. If you consider playing it a waste of time, then so is Monkey Island or any other adventure game?

Just finished it, a great game, with some of the best puzzles I have ever seen in an AGS game. Kudos to Radiant!

Can I use ProgZmax' char anyway?

That's pretty much proving Layabout (and everyone else who I'm too lazy to scroll up for)'s point - with a GOOD sprite as the default, people will want to use it. And we will (in theory) see less original sprites.

So with Proggie's permission (which I assume you have, seeing as he made it public himself & wanted it in AGS) then you could use it - but then you lose points for originality. Y'see?

S'right. I think the line was originally simply "Enough is enough, I've had it with the snakes" and then it was made a little more...Samuel L Jackson-esque later when they reshot some scenes.

I also heard that the title was changed briefly to "Flight 121" or something less distinguishable, but Sammy J refused to film any more scenes until they changed it back.

But it's hard to tell how much of this stuff is true, expecially with a film with as much internet publicity as this.

I just saw it last night. I was very very very entertained. I knew the movie would be entertaining on some level, like a "so bad it's good" thing. But it was actually GOOD. Funny in the right parts, serious in the others. Scary as hell, too. Well done film, great marketing. Gonna make a ton.

I'm going to have to completely disagree with LGM that it's a good movie in the sense he means but it was still very entertaining because of the audience reaction. The title appearing on screen caused the entire place to erupt into applause and cheering. See it with an audience and it's awesome, watch it alone in your room and it will fall flat, that is my prediction!

I think I have to both agree disagree with both of you, merging your opinions into some kind of horrible LGM-Mr C hybrid.

I went to see this movie with a couple of friends expecting nothing too special, just expecting...well....snakes. on a plane. I thought it might be a bit light-hearted and take the piss out of itself, but not a movie you would see many times.

But it was actually a lot better han I expected - I'd be very happy to see it again. Ridiculous title aside, I think it stands up relatively well as a movie in itself. There are bits that are a little tongue in cheek and oer the top, but a lot of it is genuine thriller material.

That said, seeing it with a good audience enhances the viewing tenfold! As long as the people around you are in the same mindset, viewing the movie as a bit of fun as opposed to some Oscar winning masterpiece, then it will stand well. People will cheer, laugh & applaud together in a way I've see for no other movie.

Watching it alone won't have the same effect.

In conclusion: I approve.

My personal favourite moment in the movie was when

Spoiler
the rapper has sat down after losing the gun and the lights go off and you hear one man in the background scream "It's the snakes!" as if they are responsible directly
[close]

But it seemed only my friends noticed that part when we were watching. Or maybe no one else found it funny.

They don't hijack the plane. They're let loose on the plane. And it's surprisingly good! I'd give it a 8 out of 10 - but that score goes up if you see it with the right crowd in the right cinema where people get into the spirit of things!

It is far from crap. Very enjoyable!

When I was in school, the final exam consisted of being thrown into a pit with a sabertooth tiger and a velociraptor with only a club to defend yourself. If you lived you passed, obviously.

Did you pass?
