Uhm? That has no effect at all.

I see flashing white dots there. where the black ones "are" in the one you posted. Although it can vary from person to person, from what I've seen. So yeah, I believe the problam at hand here is an accidental optical illusion.

Al deserves a thousand "Happy Birthday" threads of his own. But for now I will settle for this one wish of many happy returns.

Happy Birthday Al_Ninio!

Okay, I gotcha, thanks :)

It would've been nice to see what that site actually WAS though, I'm curious as to what the link used to reveal....

I decompiled the swf file & couldn't find any white button...I'd be very interested in where your discovery is & how you found it, Monkey.

Please tell.

I'm sure Chicky was too...not sure- who's Tom Morell?

Tom Morello, as I recall, was the guitarist from Rage Against the Machine. He is awesome.

well it's a flash thingy, so tab doesnn't really work

Tab does work in revealing clickable areas in flash things, a yellowish box outlikes the buttons.

And I couldn't find the white button. If you find it, please do tell.....

Rui - I tend to regard "flaming" as a response that is basically a very rude attack on another without attempting to point out what they have done wrong, or trying to help them. Basically I think it's a pretty pointless post which can be summed up with "I think I am better than you".

In fact, from Dictionary.com:

Informal. An insulting criticism or remark meant to incite anger, as on a computer network.

It's like trying to start an argument with no real reason. In your case, I saw it as trying to help the guy.

But anyway, I'm not a moderator, just a poor simple village boy, so I'll leave this topic to the big boys (no matter how they act towards it...¬_¬).

Please, Pablo, unless poop shows us a more direct link to his game, please refrain from trying to start a flame war here.

Actually, I'll rephrase. Don't flame. Flamewars are bad. I'm just hoping for some evidence towards the game in question.

Well call me a sissy.

Eggie, any chance you could enlarge that? I can hardly read what you put. Which is a shame, as I usually "enjoy" your entries more than most.

General Discussion / Re: X-Com comic strip
Sun 05/06/2005 20:04:40
I kind of assumed that he WAS one of the authors (he says there are several), especially with the comic being in his sig & all. I thought it was a self-promotion type thing, & therefore he would want some feedback.

Of course, I could be wrong. I usually am.

EDIT: On inspection of the comic, aye, it turns out he did do several of the early ones. So try to keep criticism constructive, if you please :)

General Discussion / Re: The Guitar Challenge

I would vote for not making this an actual CONTEST per se, I see no need for there to be a specified winner, especially as the winner may not be able to find/make an appropriate backing track themself. I like it the way it is, just a sort of....."jam" between musicians. I think it should stay this way.

In addition to this, something similar could be done with the entire track recorded by AGSers. If, for example, chicky were to record a drumming track & upload it, someone records bass over that, etc etc. It might be nice to see if something good could come out of a project like that.

Just my two pennies.

I'm gonna try & explain this simply, but in the best way I can. Please ask if you don't understand anything. I came up with this:

I've used a technique called "crating". Basically, you draw a box in your original perspective (that is, on the same planes) and fit your new shape into it. The red box is the construction lines, in which I have put a normal cube. You'll notice that I have put little blue lines in on the top surface a little from each corner - these are my starting points for the second box, the slanted box.

From there you can join these four points to create the top surface of the slanted box, which I have done in black. Then you can take vertical lines down from these top corners until they reach the corresponding bottom edges on the red construction box.

That should give you the simple wireframe for the shape you want (which I have in black)

That picture looks a little confusing I'll admit, so I removed all the construction lines and gave it a (VERY) simple renderng to give you an idea of what I think the shape should look like:

This is just how I would do it, there may be other ways.

Hope that helps :)

General Discussion / Re: Video Help....
Mon 23/05/2005 09:05:17
Yes, I occasionally use VCDs and one problem is the size of a CD - I reckon you'd only be able to fit an hours worth of video on there. Not a problem if you're burning a TV series perhaps, but it can be a lot more frustrating with a movie, especially if you have you split your existing file into two parts.

That said, I use Nero, mainly because.....it came with my rewriter......

It handles the job well enough, allowing me to drag & drop most any type of video file into my playlist - it seems to convert them to a VCD format for me (I usually use .avi video files with various compressions and they never seem to have any hassle playing back).

As Yak says, you have to check your player is compatible (I only have access to one that is) and it would probably be better in the long run to use a DVD rewriter. But if you're willing to stay fairly low-quality, give it a shot.

Good luck, man!
