I'd be interested to know how you did it, Eggie. Tablet & Flash? Lightbox & pencil? Paint & a HELLUVA lot of patience?

I too have recently been getting into animation (made myself a crude lightbox at the weekend) and would LOVE to do lip-sync this good.

My only crit is that his body doesn't move much. But of course, it doesn't have to.

Just a couple of things to try & help:

If you're going for warped perspective, try to make it look obviously warped - exaggerate a little more. As an example, the drawers at the moment look very haphazard - they should look at least a little similar, IMO. Of course, don't go over the top.

Bits of the lighting are wrong. For example, those bits around the door look a little weird, especially on the right one - all the lighting on that door would be the same shade when done in this style.

Also, the left side of the desk/bar would be lighter than the right side - the bar would put the right side in shade. And the back wall should be lighter.

Lastly, I don't like the monitor. Look at the shape of your own monitor & try to imitate the shape of that.

The Rumpus Room / Re:Sam and Max Cancelled!
Wed 03/03/2004 19:18:20
Oh surprise, surprise, the adventure game gets cancelled....

Expect to see another 17 or so Star Wars games getting pumped out of Lucasarts in the next year or so. It's all they ever do anymore.

I was looking forward to Sam & Max 2. Damn.

Then.............why did you bring it back from that period, Minimi?

I like it! It's very bendy & flash-styled, but of course that is a good thing.

Things I would change:

The bendy lamp-posts. I think they are just a bit too over-the-top. Perhaps (to fit in with the style) you could have them wide at the top & bottom, and have them bend in in the middle.

Also, the back street doesn't look right to me. The perspective may be a little off - it looks as if the road gets wider the further right it gets.

Lastly, I think the truck looks a little too small.

But I think it's a great start! I wouldn't believe you only just got Flash!

A quick search in google brought this up:

CamStudio 2.0

I haven't tried it yet, but it looks genuine. Give it a shot, it sounds quite useful.

EDIT: A quick test shows it's the real deal. I would recommend this to anyone looking for this sort of thing as the .avi to .swf thing works very well.

Hints & Tips / Re:Fatman points Question

Is it alright to bump a topic in Hints 'n' Tips if you haven't got a satisfactory answer ( or any answer at all, in this case )?

EDIT: Seriously, I am actually asking..

Study them. Study them well.

It is really good, and I quite liked the commentary too, though I don't really know why.

Mage has pretty much got it right. The lines towards the centre shouls be almost 'vertical' and the further they get out, the more angled they get.

I think it may have been Alkaline who was making it, but it was a loooooong time ago &  I cannot remember the name (his profile also shows no clues of it whatsoever). I think I still have the demo, I'll see if I can find it...

Three of AGS's most respected members, talking about sex with a cartoon character. Is there anything more arousing?

"Thou shalt not steal" for the modern generation.

I think that covers it.

EDIT: Damn, you, AGA & DG. We will meet again, when you least expect it. Or when you most expect it. Haven't decided yet.

That quote was not rigged, that IS exactly how it happened. Believe me, I was there.

I remember playing this one a while ago. It's pretty good, took me a couple of days to complete.

I never remember seeing a second part.....

What is seven times eight?

Oh, damn, there must have been an error....

(did I dream this question or was that actually a joke in the book or TV series? I seem to remember them trying to find the question & they got this one, which is obviously wrong.)

What is the other guy looking for with the metal detector? Maybe you could find it for, him.......without the metal detector......

What would give you an accurate overlook of the grounds to look for it?

Hints & Tips / Fatman points Question
Sat 21/02/2004 18:13:02
I finished Fatman with 102/103 points (much to my frustration).

Is there any advantages to getting all 103? An extra cutscene or something? If so, could someone please tell me what happens?

Thanks.
