Yeah, very sad to say this, but I think I might have to duck out of this one as well. I love the theme, but I've had a really really busy couple weeks and haven't found the time to work on my piece. :~(

Yeah, I definitely hear you.

A good thing to remember is that at no point when a person is walking are both feet fully on the ground.

If they are, it kind of looks like they're doing the wedding/graduation march.

General Discussion / Re: Games for the PS2

Sounds like everyone's already recommended some amazing ones, so my list is more of the same:

*Shadow of the Colossus (One of my all time favs)
*Silent Hill 2 (Beautiful and scary)
*SSX Tricky (Don't usually like sports games, but this one had me hooked)
*Okami (All around awesome)
*Fatal Frame 1 (Scared the crap out of me in college. Didn't care for the second one though)
*KATAMARI DAMACY and WE ââ,,¢Â¥ KATAMARI! (For some reason, these haven't been mentioned in the thread yet, but they are flipping great! I still play them to this day.)

Ahhh, look at me getting all nostalgic. Sigh...

Adorable! I love the way you animated his stride! :)

I know you didn't specifically ask for a critique on this, but I think the animation could be improved by taking out/modifying the frames where the character is simply standing on both legs.

Here's an example. I just deleted the two standing frames, but you could modify them a bit more if you wanted to keep it at 8 frames and have the walk be more fluid:

Hope this helps!

Yeah, I'm so happy they were able to get funded! It looked a little doubtful there for a while.

Also, for those who didn't come across it: the soundtrack (which is just as incredible as the animation) by Mathias Winum is officially available for free download on SoundCloud:

That's awesome, thanks for sharing!

Wow, that's stunning, Kastchey! I love your art style so much. Every pic I see of yours I'm impressed by.

@Shane: I think it's an awesome beginning. I like the architecture and colors a lot.

Saw this on Tumblr today and thought it was relevant.

Nicotine is, by itself, relatively harmless (as I understand it).  It's just "habit" forming and it's what big tobacco intentionally adds to their cigarettes to keep people buying them.  It's sickening that they get away with it but they have paid off enough politicians I guess.

Don't be silly, Mandarb, Nicotine is a poison generated by the tobacco plant in order to stop animals from eating it. In fact, Nicotine is named FOR the tobacco plant.

Wait a second though, there are plenty of "poisonous" things that other animals can't eat, but people can. For example, chocolate is poisonous to cats, and grapes are poisonous to dogs, but fine for us. There are also plenty of things besides nicotine that will kill us in high doses, but not in small amounts. Nutmeg and many other cooking spices, for example.

Nicotine may be part of the Nightshade family, but hey, so are tomatoes and potatoes.

Oh, I know it's mostly harmless to us, physically, I was addressing "Deliberately putting nicotine into cigarettes. Grr, big tobacco". When without nicotine, there wouldn't be a product to sell. Noone wants to smoke a burning plant that does nothing. x3

Though, looking more closely, the nicotine content of cigarettes has increased recently. Ooh, so that's what he meant. I've learnt something today!

Ahh, gotcha. Yeah, I totally agree with that.

22. Outlaws (and the Fist Full Of Missions add-on pack)

Fanning the hammer on the pistol was so much fun. But having to reload it (and all the other guns) one bullet at a time was such a cool idea at the time. I hated it but I also thought it was very cool. It made me approach every firefight with a completely different mindset from Doom or Duke 3D.

EDIT: At least they were able to release their true masterpiece before they were gobbled up by Mickey.

How did I not know about this? Freaking hilarious. I just laughed my ass off.

Fancy, Miez! I think I'll give it a try. :) (Why is there no smiley wearing a monocle?)

Btw, flipping Electric Light Orchestra is the best.

Aghhh! Snarky, you beat me to the punch on this thread by 3 minutes!

Yeah, all this was sad, but not surprising, especially since they were doing so poorly. My nostalgia feels are still crying though regardless. :~(

Urgh, so torn between NickyNyce, Kasander and Scavenger!

I think I'll have to go for Kasander's on this one, but it was a really hard choice because they're all great.

Not the greatest thing to win at considering how creepy it is. :P

Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed the theme, Kasander!
#136
Thanks, Kastchey! Glad you liked the theme! ;)

UUghHHHh, you guys are giving me the heebie-jeebies.

I don't think nicotine by itself is any worse for you than alcohol or caffeine.
Even if that was true. Nicotine is far more addictive, especially more than caffeine (I'm not saying the end result of addiction is any better in alcohol than in cigarettes lung cancer and liver failure ar both end of the line).

You may be right Anian. I've heard the same thing. However, I can only speak for myself when I say this: I've been vaping nicotine juice for the past three or four months and have no problem putting it down for two or three weeks at a time. My boyfriend on the other hand, has a harder time doing that. He used to smoke cigarettes, I never have. Could simply be due to having different bodies with different make-ups, or it could be habit-related like Khris suggested. I'm not sure. All I can say is that I haven't noticed any negative issues with nicotine myself.

Yay! Glad all you guys liked it!

@Peder: Yeah, I think I saw some footage of that on their Kickstarter page. Pretty cool.

I believe they also have an AMA on Reddit today at 3pm (not sure which time zone they're in) where they'll be doodling random stuff for people.
