The averages don't display until 5 people vote.

Until then, you can hack around it by putting the game's number in the game vote page (thanks SSH for the tip) like this.
Oh, cool! Thank you for the hint!  :)

Quotewalking was awkward
What the hell!? I didn't know, THAT can be such a challenge for some players!!!

Here is the tutorial for "How to adjust the walking speed":
1. click the options (organizer)
2. move the "walking speed" slider to the right
3. ...
4. PROFIT!

On the "stairs" in the most cases you have not to walk to the door to enter it. Simple click the door.

Hm...
"Downloaded:   167 times" but "There are not yet enough votes for this game to present a useful average."   :(
What is wrong?  ???

Quote from: sauyadav on Fri 18/12/2009 14:23:28In a way it is good that you haven't told anything about background of the story, it is making it more interesting. Now that I have completed it, I want to know more, you better release next episode soon I can't wait :P
And a Silent Hill reference to look forward too, its not helping!

I want to make the second part much longer than first. The development can be quite long story, except I'll split it in the chapters... But I don't know right now.

As for SH, the next part will have something to do with it. (This doesn't mean, I'll take the SH story. The story is still original.)

Did you find the SH easter eggs in the game?  ::)

Quote from: sauyadav on Fri 18/12/2009 14:23:28I saw your Silent Hill 2 (My all time favorite Survival Horror) April Fool video, Awesome stuff!!! I was secretly hoping Konami make it for gameboy while watching it.

At first I really wanted to port the game to GB.  ;D That was the in game graphic, but I drop the project after I saw the "Soundless Mountain". The game is brilliant and I can not top NES port even with Game Boy.  :'(

I'm glad to hear, you like it.  :)

2 david:  Some vista-troubles can be fixed with ags-setup. Try to change video settings.

2 sauyadav: The idea was to tell the background story in the game. I hide a lot of background there. The most questions will be answered in the next game. I don't want to spoiler to much... ;)
I'm also interested to hear, what the players see in the game.  ::)

PS. One more thank you to the voice actors! They made a really great job.

I reworked the game - added a couple of puzzles, sprites, animations, cut scenes...
but more important:

Very talented voice actors made the voices for the game characters.  :=

   Azure - female voices
   Ethan Dapperwood - Tom
   Tango Dave - Jarukhai
   LordJerus - McDeath
   Thorbjoern Trashblitz - Zombies

here is the game:
download NecroQuest here ver.2.0.0.1

Actually I don't know if this is his hair or hat...   :-[

Baron designed the character and I didn't ask him, what that really is. I studied the sprite lists and thought, this is a hat.    :'(

If not let's think, that he also has a hat, but didn't put it on in the game...  ;)

This is usually quite difficult to make a game character without altering him to much. But it also makes fun.  :=

BUMP!

The Greates Dung Shoveler ever goes 3d!  8)

He is about 4cm high. Made of FIMO and Green Stuff. Painted with acryllic paints.

Are we cool or what?  8) ;D

Thanx guys! I'm glad, you like the figurine... :)

2Lyaer: As for the game plot, it was impossible to tell the whole story in the part one. It will be enough place in the part two for that. I tried to keep everything simple first. It is possible, that I made it to simple. May be it will be better with the voices, since the player hears the bad guy's voice in the intro...
I hope the "deluxe" version will be less confusing...   :)

Some WIP - a screen from the part II...  ::)

I hope it is ok, that I dig out this thread. I hope this is the best place to ask questions to ags3d.  ::)

I played with ags3d and find it quite powerful.  But there is a big problem that annihilates all the cool sides of this addon for me. I can not activate mouse cursor for 2d stuff...  :'(

Ags3d works quite good as long my character walks in 3d world. But I can not use GUIs. The mouse cursor stucks in the middle of the screen and I can not press any GUI key...

  Ags3d.SetFirstPerson();
  Ags3d.SetMouseLook();

This functions do not help. They freeze my character in 3d world, but my cursor stays stuck in the middle of the screen.  :-\

I wanna make normal AGS game and insert some 3d rooms in it. So I need some 2d rooms...

  Ags3d.Set3d(false);

This function works fine at first, since I get my 2d room. But then the same problem with the mouse cursor.  :(

  Ags3d.SetFirstPerson(true);
  Ags3d.SetMouseLook(true);

This stuff helps me not either. The same problem like in the 3d world.

The only way to use mouse cursor, is to call some debug function. Like ctrl+x or ctrl+v.

So... Who knows how to solve this problem?  ::)

NecroQuest will become FPS!  :o If you don't trust me, try this demo:
http://www.ziddu.com/download/5389241/nq3d_demo.zip.html  (1.4mb)

Spoiler
Nothing special, only one room made with ags3d. Look at this screen:

To exit the demo press alt+x.

Actually I want to use 3d stuff in second NecroQuest.

So... I'm still waiting for the last voice lines.  :'( But I know, it will be worth it. And he promised me, to send the lines next week...  ::)

And NQ1 goes really 3d... ;)

Since I had to wait, I made some merchandising stuff.  8)

Digital    < ------ >   Real

There are more pictures in my blog:

May be I can get a couple of coins selling figurines...  ::) Since the game is still freeware.

I get this a lot, and I don't quite know what to say... They might be flashy and cheap-looking, but they were absolutely brilliant in teaching me how to launch a game and explaining everything step by step... If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have ever released Downfall and for that I owe them forever. Especially that it wasn't at all about a great business opportunity but giving a chance to somebody who was rejected by almost everyone in this cruel industry and making his dream come true. If you look at it this way, it's easier to accept their crappy website because actually what they do is often to promote new developers regardless of how much money they'll make on them... and it's  not much at all. Still, I'm glad you decided to give it a go. I think you won't regret it:)

This is not only the problem of this page. Many pages become about useless, 'cause their webmasters put everything they have on every page. New technologies allow to put new content constantly on the page, even you don't need it. The pages where I hosted my game had similar problems.  :(

I played the game.  ;D It took two evenings and I enjoyed them. That was creepy. Thanx!  ;D

Congrats for finishing!   8)

I bought the game and I'm downloading it now. Then I'll wait untill it is dark and play it...  ;D

PS. I must say this: D2D - sucks!!  >:( It flashs like "free" pr0no site, is slow like somewhat and looks like "you'll buy this stuff and then have to pay much more for somethig" for me... this design..  :-\
Instead of buying your game last week, I did it only today. May be this is a good site, but they made everything, they could to show me, they are not...  :(
For this I hate web 2.0!!!!  >:(

The game is ready! Cool! ;)

Congrats!  :=

Hey, thanks!  It wouldn't be a bad idea to do diagonal loops since Blender makes that sort of thing very easy.
yup, you can make lots of animations. It is also a good possibility to make portrait  style talk or anoter cool speaking animation. ;)

so did you tried 3d module for AGS?

As for your question:

Spoiler
That wasn't the problem. I already throwed the stone in the snake, and got cattail. I can't take the flower and I don't know what to do with the big stone. I also have wapato, but nobody want it. I didn't found any other hot spots.

I like the sprites. I was also thinking about making my sprites in blender and it is interesting to see, that it is possible. ;)
Have you thought about making diagonal walking loops and take/give/whatever loops? It makes your game shinier. Since you are using 3d to make animating easier - add more animation!  ::)
What about using 3d-module?

I was a bit sceptic about using photo background with pixelart, but it works fine. (Since I thing, you was really mad making the "walk behind" masks  ;))

Also about your game... I like the demo, but I'm stuck
Spoiler
I've got only web and cattail

:'( I'm very bad hot spot finder, and there is no highlighing  :'(  If you add highlighting in the release version, you'll make me happy...  ;D

If I shoot the pistol, I stretch out my arm totally - like that;D
But I'm bad pistol shooter. I prefer rifles.  ;)

My wife, shoots pistols much better than I. (usually she hits every target) She uses both hands to hold the gun. She also stretches out her hands completely. If not, there is a possibility to been hit with the gun to the head...  ::)

As for clothes, I like them. Even if I don't really understand, what she wears  ;)
She has a dress and pants?

Quote from: Sephiroth on Sun 03/05/2009 02:50:00Heh thanks yarooze, i'm glad a pixel-girl expert likes them ;)
Thanks for "expert" title! 8) I think, I'm more pixel-girl amateur, but "expert" sounds cool..  ;D

Quote from: Sephiroth on Sun 03/05/2009 02:50:00It doesn't look bad, but she would be more "plump" i think it's the word, and would lose that anorexic sexyness i liked about it. ( i know it's just a personal opinion) but i could really use this example for other charcaters, it would contribute to get more varied styles.
As I told, IMHO your girls are great enough, without my paint over. BTW I like this anorexic sexiness.  ::) It is much more difficult to draw thin but sexy girls, than curved...  ;)

I also think, that the weapon-bearing pose is OK. Yes, you have to hold the gun higher, if you want to hit your target, but you have not, if you simple want to look cool or your target is very close to you... ;)

AAaa! How can it be, I didn't see this thread until now!!?? And nobody told me!  I was about to miss some pixel girls! :'(

No way!!!  ;)

Nice girls you made Sephiroth!  ;)

I don't think I can improve them, but I can't lose the chance to put some pixels on them...  ::)

3x original

But I think they are cool enough without curved legs...  ::)

Besides, you haven't to resize the pictures to show them bigger. Just use width/height tags...  ;)

Also I just wanna say, that I didn't abandon this "deluxe" project. I'm waiting for the last voice lines for Tom and then... ;)

here you can hear some samples:

Sorry no orc voice sample. His blooper isn't ready yet. Just wait for the game. Let it be a surprise. ;)

Also I must say, the voice actors I found are awesome! 8) This guys and girl alone made my lame game worth replaying. But I also tried to rework the puzzles and graphic/animations.  ::)

No naked girls this time. Sorry...  ::)
