I know, it is 15th already, but...

I've got some new stuff:

Also for those of you, who didn't play SH2 on NES, here is the link. The game is simple amazing!

SH2 is also my favourite part fo SH. I was very happy to play it on NES and now there is a GB version to! It's just amazing!  ;D  :=

There are more screens in my blog (see the first post for link). I also found a gameplay video on youtube:

Quote from: Domino on Wed 01/04/2009 00:50:33Silent Hill is about the atmosphere of the game, and the Game Boy could never do it justice.  It needs the fog, the haunting music, the scare factor, but seeing pyramid head in a top down perspective in black and white game makes me mad.
Wot? You don't like GB music and graphic?  ;D

I know, Silent Hill is not really an adventure game, but may be that can be interesting for you:

An article from Sortofpedia:

"Silent Hill 2 for GB Arrives in April!
The port of the PS2 horror-survival hit title is coming...

Hurray for Konami and their long-running horror-survival series! It seems that the second installment in this series, Silent Hill, will be ported to the Game Boy after being a major hit on the PS2. Would believe if I told you that Silent Hill 2 is the reason for me buying the handheld console in the first place? The game ruled, although I have two things to comment upon it: it's way too short and it has too many locked rooms for my liking.

I admit that it was frustrating to get killed each time I reached a new landmark, but that's life and gaming, so you'd better start training and replaying past SH titles, since this baby's coming to the GB! I'm curios if we'll see other similar ports in the future, not from Konami, but from Capcom, who haven't delivered a GBA Resident Evil title, so far, if I'm not mistaking."

You can read the whole article, see more screenshoots and even a gameplay video here:

I think, she is good. The eyes are good either. They are only to wide, if you scale the sprite to much. As long it is small, it looks right.

Nice shading Arboris!  ;)

I was thinking about trying to put some pixels on her, but hadn't good idea how to strip her. May be she isn't low res enough for me...  ;D

2 ginanubismon: IMHO this girl is much better than your old furries, but keep in mind: it will be quite difficult to animate such big (200px) shaded character. May be it is better to drop the shading for player character or to make it smaller - about 80px high.  You can still use big shaded character for intros. ;)

Such a cute Rotkäppchen!  ::)

I couldn't resist, sorry... (I hope she is over 18 yo)  ;)

Dunno why but I can not login to this forum with opera.  :(

I get this message:
"An Error Has Occurred!
Sorry yarooze, you are banned from using this forum!
Troll"

It seems, that I'm not banned, since I'm here now. But to write this message I used firefox with tor.  :-\ I have nothing against fiefox but opera is my main browser, so I should like to fix this problem.

Did anybody have the same problem?

I think it's been long enough for a little bump. People must know the awesomeness that is my voice! I demand recognition and adulation!
I thought, you've got some recognition and adulation already... ;)

...but ok, OK... I like the samples  :) Dunno if they really sound irish or american (I'm not an english speaker) but they sound very good.

PM me, if you are interesting in voice acting for a game, I have a free character in my NecroQuest.

Quote from: Baron on Sun 21/12/2008 18:22:46Regarding Retry/Undo: it's featured in my other games, but I haven't seen it elsewhere yet.
I'm sharing this point of view. I think the "dead" ends are not good. ;)

The player must have the possibility to retry some stupid action. If not, he will not even try them and miss the cool stuff that we prepared for him.

So there was no fight about, if we use undo function or not.  :)

I used this undo function in my necroquest to.

Quote from: LGM on Thu 18/12/2008 23:18:08Make her boobs bigger.
I don't think so. IMHO they are big enough.  ;)

Quote from: IndieBoy on Thu 11/12/2008 22:01:17Basically everything and anything I pixel is square, blocky and masculine, and women are the complete opposite of all of these. So I am looking for some useful comments and help in pixeling the female body.
Try some kind of anti-aliasing to make them rounder. Look what I did on her boobs.

Did you use the Kafka's charakter as base for your picture? He also has the tutorial for female sprite. Try it!

General Discussion / Re: Music/Vocal program?
Sat 13/12/2008 17:51:19
I wrote about music software in my blog. Not very much but maybe you'll find it useful:

http://yarooze.blogspot.com/2008/09/my-home-made-midis.html

You'll get "lots of instruments" in your midi list, so I advice you to try it first. ;)

I'm also using goldwave. But I can not save ogg or mp3 with it, so I use CDex to converting. This works quite well.

Are there any raster based animation packages? All this vector business hurts me.
Answered
my
own
Question.

they are also very expensive (except FlipBook maybe).  :'(

TVPaint (or Mirage) are brilliant! You can try them for free. 30 days each. ;)

You can also try this stuff. It is mint. The price is also OK. But it can be complicated to use it, since there is no english version.
