Title: So making a RON game
Post by: Goldfish on Fri 22/01/2010 22:29:46
Do RON games have to be very self-referential? Or can a new bit be added to the town? I don't mean totally random I mean use a little bit not yet used etc.?

With the existing characters, can they just be background characters in most cases, with some new people added?

You're free to do whatever you want in a RotN game.
The town has grown because people added on bits and introduced characters here and there to suit their game.

My preference (and this for games I think I would enjoy most) would be to keep the additions to less than 20-30% of the game, and to make the main character either an existing character or a character referred to in a previous game (eg a Dayist nun).

I didn't like the games that changed the feel of the series too much.

That's just my take though, and as I say you're free to do whatever you feel like.

More RotN is better than no RotN!

I'm not going to bother with a RON game. Can't bring myself to do it. Thanks for the help anyway.
