🚀 Help Bring "Small Balls! And the Captain of Outer Space" to Life 🚀

A Comedy/Sci-fi Adventure-Game Inspired by '90s Anime & Classic Adventure Gaming!

What Exactly Is "Small Balls"?

"Small Balls! And the Captain of Outer Space" is a comedic sci-fi universe that fuses iconic 1990s anime aesthetics (think Cowboy Bebop, Dragonball, Gundam, Robotech) with the humor and retro-spirit of classic western comedy-sci-fi adventures (The Orville, Space Quest, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy).

The story begins with an adventure-style video game exploring this colorful universe filled with intergalactic absurdity, clever puzzles, satirical writing, and offbeat characters—such as the enthusiastic Main Character, steadfast Princess Lifepartner, the scrappy genius Professor Sidekick, the freemium robot assistant Token Robot, and "everyone's favorite" deceptively adorable cabbit-creature, Merch!

What Kind of Game?
The game will be crafted as a traditional point-and-click style adventure game (in the spirit of classics like Space Quest, Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, and similar titles). Players will explore amusingly imaginative settings, solve creative puzzles, enjoy witty dialogue, and meet fascinating characters throughout an engaging, humor-driven experience.

At present, we are only looking for help in creating the demo of Small Balls. This will involve the player exploring the protagonist's starship, solving some puzzles, and exploring the Byitall Space Station. A well-made demo will help us to raise interest and do some fundraising for the full project.

Who Do We Need Onboard?
We are currently looking for professional freelance talent in these areas:
🎨 ARTISTS: Character concept and model sheets, backgrounds and environments, UI art, sprite-based animation, and retro pixel-art visual design inspired by anime and/or '90s cartoon aesthetics.
💻 PROGRAMMERS/GAME DEVELOPERS: Skilled developers experienced in creating point-and-click/interactive adventure games. We require expertise in Adventure Game Studio, Unity, Visionaire Studio or similar adventure-genre-friendly engines (in the spirit of SCUMM/AGI, but modernized), implementation of puzzle mechanics, UI functionality, and solid gameplay integration.

Creative Control & Work Arrangement:
While we are always happy to hear professional suggestions—especially related to technical implementation and improving game functionality—the final creative direction, storytelling, concept, and visual aesthetic will always remain fully in-house. In other words: we are hiring for outstanding technical and artistic skills to help us bring our existing vision into reality. We welcome your input when appropriate, but story and setting decisions are exclusively ours.

Compensation
:
We firmly believe in offering fair, competitive rates for professional freelance work. When contacting us, please provide your standard pricing structure or specific quotes for your area(s) of expertise (per artwork, per animation frame, per completed coding milestone, or hourly/flat-rate arrangements you are comfortable with). We are transparent and open to discussion to ensure everyone involved is comfortable, appropriately compensated, and satisfied.

Hi,

I could give a hand in the fields of "Character Design", "Concep Art" or "Coding".
I have experience with piexl artwork. I am remaking the puzzles of "Curse of Monkey Island" these days, as AGS tutorials on Youtube.

Some of the artwork was remade to fit the graphics. I had to draw them from scratch to match the original designs (the bed in the bedroom puzzle, and the candlelights in the mojo-Voodoo Lady-scene and of course some of the Guybrush animations/ sprites).

Here's my Youtube Channel regarding my work so far:

PS: I will be working on a new animation regarding the "Alien" franchise.

Thanks.
