Title: Artists for reboot of important 90s franchise
Post by: WrongTarget on Thu 02/01/2014 02:18:32
Project:
Project MAGUS (codename)

Details:
Reboot of a classical point n' click adventure comedy series from the 90s, that's being developed with the supervision of the original designer.

Positions Available:
We're looking for 2D artists. Experience with pixel art is a plus, but not a must. We're looking for artists for backdrops and characters/sprites animation. It's a small, indie team where you would have a lot of input and would help determine the overall style of the game too.  It would be a paid position after some funding (government funding and planned crowd funding) is received.
Excellent opportunity to work with such a license.

Deadline:
We expect to finish development in 1 and 1/2 - 2 years.

Comments:
Interested parties can reply to this thread or contact me via PM. Portfolio or some kind of work to show is a must.

Codenamed MAGUS... It's not Discworld, is it? If it's Discworld I am so keeping tabs on it!

There was a post on AdventureGamers asking players what they would want from a new Simon the Sorcerer title, so that would be my guess.

Good luck finding artists, WrongTarget.

I would be interested in helping with the artwork.. especially if it was a Simon reboot! I'm from around the area where they made the original, I believe (if that helps at all..) and am a big fan. I played Simon 4 quite recently actually and I was sad at how.. American.. it has become (though it was still fun, it just lost the heart of Simon). I would still be interesred to learn more even if it isn't Simon, I've a mad adventure games fan and an artist looking to get into doing game art, and my favourite period of games was the 90s adventures, and especially the twisted comedy of Monkey Island, Leisure Suit Larry etc
