Spoiler

I'm looking for someone who can come up with some inventive code for a free mini-golf game. Whether that means hand-coding each screen or creating some kind of module/plugin that allows some sort of realistic golf ball movement, I'm not entirely sure. But it will be your job to make the golf ball move, recognize slopes, slow down & speed up and bounce off walls etc. You'll also need to devise (or at least help) the way the player aims and hits the ball. Therefore you should be quite proficient at coding I guess :)

This is an old project, the original source long lost and both participants moved onto other things now - but the original creator kindly gave me permission to use the artwork that was already drawn and it's an opportunity I don't want to pass up. I've spoken to a few people on and off about it but not had any definite interest from a programmer yet.

There will be a negotiable payment, in the region of 100-150 USD depending on the amount of work necessary, and maybe a little more if you stick with it until it gets released and help me fix any issues directly before/AFTER it's release. We may reach an agreement about future games in a similar style that would use your code, so for example a similar payment for a sequel etc if your code is used but you are not required to do anything toward it. I'm also happy to pay extra if you want to take on managing this project in its entirety, to the point where I would just help produce it (and perhaps work on the music), leaving you in charge of "making the game". Negotiable :)

The best thing you could do is make some kind of prototype to prove your system works and is good and THEN contact me. You can use the screen below as your basis for a prototype if you wish. It's ok to let me know you're interested but you won't be hired unless you can show me some kind of working example.

Depending how things go I may need someone with artistic ability to animate a few things on the screens but I'll post up about that another time. For now, the core mechanics, the playings of the golfs, are what's needed most. This game will be released free, hopefully sometime this year, but there is no rush, no deadline as such at this point.

As per usual you can PM me or send me an email to mark at screen7.co.uk - and if you just want to ask a question (but have no prototype) then feel free to get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you and PERHAPS help let this mini-golf game finally see the light of day :)

Thanks for reading!

PS. Perhaps the answers to some of the code can be found in Space Pool Alpha which comes with the source code. Steve was originally coding this mini-golf game but isn't able to now (and as I say, sadly no longer has the work files from when he worked on golf ball movement).
