Title: Website security
Post by: SSH on Tue 21/08/2012 14:54:56
Of course, its still people's responsibility to take care of their passwords, but are the AGS (forum) passwords stored in a nice complicated hash (like SHA512 or better, not SHA1) and salted?

One day someone will hack the forums and we should take some simple measures against adding everyone's AGS passwords to the growing list of easy-to-break hashes online

Well... I never thought I'd have to be the one to explain things like this to you of all people...

Some of us want our passwords (and preferably identities) stolen.

SHA512 is good, but what about SSH encryption?

I'm pretty sure SMF uses a SHA1 by default so unless AGA has patched it WE ARE ALL IN DANGER!
